All I want from a game these days is a good outfit system, which Pax Dei seem to provide. Options and variations is key, not just for outfits, but for your character, building and many other things. Not only does this type of system give you more options to play with (which is fun in itself), but it also result in more diverse and unique expressions!
You got like three different sets just for the upper body, giving you more mix options, something I've never seen before and something that should be fundamental in 2024. Dragons Dogma 1 had the best outfit system I've seen yet, with two combinable sets for the upper body.
So yeah this is the aspect that sticks out the most for me in Pax Dei

They should delay the release 1 to 2 years and get awesome combat implemented. Then it may be the next big mmo that'll actually last.
Pax Dei is the crafting and social MMORPG I have been waiting for (80 hours in Alpha 2), but with PvP they have met their Waterloo.
Stumbling around and flailing as if you were in a pool waving foam noodles is not PvP. Making it Full Loot is just embarrassing. A complete reboot of combat is required; New World and AoC have done it at least twice and the results aren't even that good.

New World could have been good but they dropped the ball, presumably because terrible management or because they rushed it as a themepark mmo.
Pax Dei is a "sandbox" but it literally has nothing, just has basic survival game stuff like gather/craft/build except doesn't even have combat. So its not even a good survival game, let alone a sandbox game.
Releasing early access 18th of june , could be another case of quick cash grab and devs not being able to give to the people what they promised
combat will be a peice of cake compared to that building system..... theyll get that right.... they are likely to fail with the economy... thats not easy to get right... specialy if they want subs there has to be an addiction and building stuff while socializing with neckbeards isnt gonna cut it lol

agree..needs a lot of work. I was testing in this latest alpha as well and guess there will be (many) more tests needed

@@ecosti they went into early access because the need the money...they still need a lot of work. I imagine they will be in 'early access' alpha for more than a year, maybe more than two years

Can you build in the PvP zone? If not they need to change that. How would we otherwise do castle sieges against each others?
You cannot build in the PvP zone! I think they will bring some sort of functionality into the PvP zones at some point!

Looks good on paper until the megatribes put checkpoints at the entrances Killing anyone trying to get into the zones.
I think its current system is perfect. High quality items are only in this zone. Hunting players not only gets you loot but also better gear in some instances.
needs more combat work, and just a system work like what players are driven to do and economy. Can be great but I see this almost 2 years away from release. And that is being fast. If not they might rush it. Should be able to siege eachothers castles maybe in certain zones or something.
Realised about halfway through that I recognised the clan name lol... I had two members in Pirate Gaming grief my build in A1 and demolish a chunk of it while I was trying to replace my plot lol.
My regards to Fearce and Untouchable, as I ended up building something much better the second time round xD

So, the pvp zone has mist. but you can use your map to see enemy players? There has to be some sort of fix to that. Solo or small pack players' main strength is the ability to stay low profile. Having a map that straight up shows you where the enemy is at all times is terrible.
I'm hoping its a perk you are using that is allowing you to do that.
I watch you entering the stresstest on the last day of alpha 2. The shieldbashing ofcourse was rediculoua, but we already knew pvp mechanics weren’t something the devs had worked on going in to the alpha. Let’s hope they get serious about it, but honestly pvp really isn’t the main focus of this game anyway.
For dope content, should break off into 2 guilds and go to war for the final day of beta.

Needs to cook in the oven for a year or two more before this game is worth money.

I only played for a couple hours and the combat really felt like a place holder or in very early access so I couldn't be bothered with it :/ kinda pointless beta in that case since wasn't the whole purpose to test pvp? Well I guess they ended up testing server stability instead, which is also good.
the purpose was never to test pvp... a week before alpha 2 they flat out said that they were enabling the pvp zone to allow testing of the server mesh system (traveling between two different regions) but pvp was not the focus of the test at all.

There are so many comments about new world being sh*t. And there are some very hyped upcoming mmos. But meh.. just look at combat in all those mmos.. It is total garbage if compared to new world..
Every game has its pros and cons it seems!!
Yep New World gets pooped on but is and was light years ahead of these other games we are getting now.
Honestly this is why I have faith in NW still. They just need to deliver content. The rest is in good shape and better than most competition
New world can't balance for shit tho, the meta haven't changed for 2 years and is vastly better than anything else
Some ppl dont like new world combat , doesnt give u the mmo feelings that most ppl need but i van accept some ppl like it. For me i need my mmo tab target action combat hybrid , archeage style and TL really nailed it
I do not believe Pax Dei is being developed as a "Combat" game. The game does have combat in both PvP and PvE, but if you look at the crafting system progression and skill progression, you realize this game is developed as a "Huge Time Sink" game. I play solo in games, and could care less about PvP combat and Dungeon runs. I found the present combat actions and wonky graphics to be totally adequate. If this game went early access tomorrow, I would buy it and play for months just crafting, building and enjoying this Eye Candy World. I really like the Archery System in this game. You put an arrow or two in a boar and the boar actually has arrows stuck in him. Also like real life, arrows have a severe fall off at distance.
Yeah the combat has no real skill or thoughtful gameplay.

The combat looks very much improvable. Not impressed at all sadly.

@@ecosti I saw that and rumor has it they were running out of capital. An indie studio aiming high with an MMO of that scale is no easy task. The game is still years from being "playworthy".

Early Access Mmorpgs.... whatever happened to having to pay testers to test their game? Nowadays developers love getting free labour and money from players to alpha test their game and players are so happy to do it. 😂
I miss the days of going into town and picking up the CDs at midnight!! The only bugs were the up down left right square triangle R2 cheats

Haha yeah the PVP here is changing into sort of "kingdom vs kingdom" but its yet to be developed... lets wait and see! See you in A2 for Ashes, cant wait!

@@Danneh Like Ashes of Creation the dev's vision is Risk/Reward. All players will join Clans and cooperate to take ever greater risks for greater rewards. Hence the need for ever greater group challenges. The fun comes from overcoming ever greater obstacles with your friends.
