AUXBEAM F-16 HIGH BEAMS 9005 (amzn.to/2ya3tGO) and use code YNINEJNQ for 15% off!! They are already super cheap and amazing, but now you can save about $7 more! It's only good till midnight June 13th!
also- do you like the color ofyour interior 194 bulbs? I was trying to find some that were like a crisp ice blue, but more blue than clear/ice/white. Not quite a full blue though, didn't know if you had any experience with int. LEDs as such. Thanks for the vids, very helpful and informative. Currently looking to upgrade headlights/fogs, followed by the rest of the vehicle. 2019 Limited 4WD w/ 20" Fuels wrapped in Ridge Grapplers. Just got it, and two places have now diagnosed the vehicle as complete suspension failure. XREAS I guess, hydraulic. More moving parts, more things to break. I'm hearing uncommon, but reading that it's more common than not on limiteds. 70,450 mi Thanks!
Your HID light output has a dark bar closer to the car. In your research, did you see anything about using H11A vs H11B as to eliminating that dark band. Return electrode on opposite sides.
for some reason the links in your description take me a to an Amazon page that does not exist. Just the one's so far for the DDM LED's and HIDs, the rest seem to work in the full description/general info.
hey Jon love your channel I'm here in Vancouver Canada all the accessories u get there in the states I can't get here on Amazon I think I need too move lol .
Thanks for the video! I just ordered the same ones through DDM, and found out that if you spend over $105, they'll throw in free LED fog lights! Not sure how good they are, but free is free... so just a heads up for those who are looking. Seems like a good deal.. I got HID low beams, LED high beams and fogs for $160 shipped.
That’s awesome! Message me here or on instagram if you need any help! And that’s awesome for the free gift! They threw in license plate lights for me but fogs are way better!
The pattern is great if you are behind a car it will not blind the driver , light beam doesn’t go above the trunk of the car in front of you but if no car in front then beam will light up the road a lot more . Color is a light blue in the housing of the headlight but from the driver view it looks a lot lighter . I will be getting another set for my other car
That’s awesome to hear! You seem to have gotten lucky as well with not having to aim your head lights. I may swap mine to LED just to try them out. I’m glad they work!
When you talk about adjusting the high beam down it is the one adjustment for the housing which adjust both beams correct? My 2016 had only one screw adjustment for the light adjustment.
I’ve since changed the lights I use. I have the auxbeam f16 series lights. 9005 size. I have a video for that one. I need to update this. Thank you for letting me know.
Looking at the mods completed you have different bulbs than you installed in this video. Which are you running? Are you getting any flicker out of the high beams in the video? I love your vids they are helping me greatly with improving my 4 runner.
Thank you! I’m currently running LED bulbs in both low and high beams. Low is lasfit LA series and highs are still auxbeam f16 series. Very very slight flicker when in DRL mode
I guess I am confused because the 9005 f-16 auxbeam series says it is a fog lamp. What is th e correct link to your hi beam lamps. The Lasfit video is great and I have ordered those@@TRDJon
In the beginning of the video you said hids for now. Did you end up sticking with them or did you go to LEDs ? Thanks for any Input. Biggest think I dislike about my 4Runner.... The stock headlights
Heres a dumb question. At 11:39...the black, plastic piece you put back on there....how did you get the pushpin things to go back in? Sorry....I'm VERY new at working on my vehicle and I'm just not sure on some things. Lol
What do you prefer? HID or LEDs? Thinking of getting some LEDs from Xenon Depot for both high&low. I may change to HID if you highly recommend it though. Thanks brotha!
No worries! So I love the HIDS. The beam shoots very far out and I see a lot of the road ahead of me having the HID’s as the low beam lights. Personally I LOVE having LED’s for brights because the response is instant for if you have to flash at somebody. Hids need to warm up a tad. However if I was going for quality of light only I’d do HID for all 4. But I plan to do light bars and ditch lights soon having LED as the brights works for now. I can tell that they are a bit distorted but they are still hands down better then stock.
Does anyone know how to replace the entire driver side headlight module (not a bulb) in a 2011 4-runner? I believe that I have to take off the side fender panel unless there's another way to get to the far left bolt. Please advise if anyone knows how to do this without removing the fender.
How have these headlight and brights been working for you? Have they been reliable? I have a 2017 Tacoma limited and I want to replace all of my lights and I want to make sure I get good long lasting ones that have a better color
They may be able too. It’s kinda crappy to do this, but I went to xenon Depot’s website to see what bulbs my vehicle took and then saw their options and then searched around the web. I had no problems with DDM in the past so I just used them again.
you mentioned you might have to "aim" the brights lower. How would you do that? and how do you gauge that you need to lower it? Would it need to be parallel exactly to your normal lights?
There’s adjuster knobs to do that on the housing. But after doing it I’m ok with how they are. You want the brights to be higher then the low beams. It just looked a little high being that close to the wall. But when I was driving it was perfect
I haven’t had any issue with them over heating and I’ve had them on for a while now. And yes they are. Certain watts and color temp are not legal. But these are.
Also so you should change your turn signals to switchbacks, so they can match and be all white and crisp but when you turn on the signal they switch to orange.
To be honest I wanna do the DRL delete Mod so the high beams turn off and it’s just those. But I kinda want them read. Idk why. But I think it would look cool. Idk if they have red and amber switch backs
Hey dude! Still digging on your videos! My smurf runner is loving life! Already put 11k miles on it! O_O CHEEEYUH!!! I am about to go on a lengthy camping trip to the great state of Colorado, and was considering replacing all interior/head/tail-lights with the same lights you have. What do you recommend? Is it a must for camping? I am already inspired by your vids, and I see the comparisons, but I'd like your input as well.
Thanks! I need to make my way out west for some good off roading. Have a safe and fun trip! And I love the ones I put in it so far. And no. They aren’t needed. But I’ve been on the trail when the sun has set and having this nice lights compared to stock was freaking awesome. As for interior light, the cool white led bulbs make the interior way brighter. But it’s not needed. Will just make shuffling around for what you need easier.
Thats just what I needed! I am used to going camping in a first gen sequoia sr5. A major complaint I had was the interior and exterior lights offered. You better bring a flashlight if you're rummaging around in the dark, because those punky bulbs aren't going to help that much! I like the side by side comparison, when I drive at night with the stock bulbs, people often flash their brights thinking I'm driving with mine on. I am for sure replacing interior lights! There are a few upgrades I am getting ready to do to the smurf runner :) I'm not good in the video department, but I may try!!! I'll keep you posted.
DDM's lifetime warranty is pointless for the HID's because they will only replace the broken lamp so even if you get the same color temp, the new one will look different from the existing one.
Maybe a little less that an inch. No It doesn’t. I just went with a little smaller then the grommets so when you place the grommets in it. It’s secure.
It does but this one seams to have a low current to it. So people say with other brands its full bright. There is a difference with them as DRL and full on. So not to bright
Hey did you have to do anything to let your high beams run as the DRL without flickering? I know XenonDepot has an option to add a module that converts the signal to send full power to the DRL. did you do anything like that or do you just not use the DRL?
I never ran drl in the first place. But if you get the decoder it will work on low power like a drl. There was just slight flicker without it. I’m using the f-16 series from auxbeam now. And they are better then these ones honestly
Awe how can I stock you if you block out your address? Your sound sounds like you are underwater in a bath tube. Why didn't you take the battery out? Just curious The video could use more light under the hood I don't like using electrical tape all that much because over time it degrades. Or if you need to take the tape off to get to the connector it leaves behind a residue, sometimes. Just MY opinion Looks really good. I used LED in my XJ and the backlash(?) from the light in the snow is aweful!
AUXBEAM F-16 HIGH BEAMS 9005 (amzn.to/2ya3tGO) and use code YNINEJNQ for 15% off!! They are already super cheap and amazing, but now you can save about $7 more! It's only good till midnight June 13th!

That Blue TRD does the rubber grommets for the head lights come in the kit? If not, where did you get them?
Noice! Where are you guys? Looking for install help. I’m a big, dumb idiot.
So sorry I thought I commented back. Yes the rubber came with them.
I’m here in Florida
The back part of led/fan area gets hot when led lights go on. Normal ?
Great tutorial. Nice video.
Finally, someone actually did a driving test
I installed jdmastar LED for low beam and fog lights on my 2016 4runner work really good and looks even better . Similar set up as yours . Good video
How do you like having the LEDS in the low beam. How’s the pattern? Idk what I wanna do with my dogs 😩Thank you!
The pattern is great if you are behind a car it will not blind the driver , light beam doesn’t go above the trunk of the car in front of you but if no car in front then beam will light up the road a lot more . How have this LED low beam lights worked out so far and have you gone ahead and changed out your high beams?
I have the auxbeam f16 series in my highs now and they are great!
I like your videos
THANK YOU!!
I use OPT7 brand hids and leds, its a good brand if you're looking at other brands. They are insanely bright and clean too
2:16 starts the install portion. Thanks for watching! Stay till the end for side by side comparison!
When you talk about adjusting the high beam down it is the one adjustment for the housing which adjust both beams correct? My 2016 had only one screw adjustment for the light adjustment.
Correct. Either clockwise or counter with adjust it I believe
I know this bid is a year old. But the links you put take you to LED”s for both high and low. Do you have updated links for exactly what you used?
I’ve since changed the lights I use. I have the auxbeam f16 series lights. 9005 size. I have a video for that one. I need to update this. Thank you for letting me know.

Thank you! I’m currently running LED bulbs in both low and high beams. Low is lasfit LA series and highs are still auxbeam f16 series. Very very slight flicker when in DRL mode
I see the link for the Auxbeam for the high beams but I don't see a link for the Lasfit LA low beam bulbs @@TRDJon
The link for the auxbeam goes to a 60w 6000lm fog light is that the correct bulb?@@TRDJon
No It's not. Its suppose to be the 9005 bulb. Lasfit I have it's own video in the lighting playing. IDK why that link is showing that. I'm sorry!
I guess I am confused because the 9005 f-16 auxbeam series says it is a fog lamp. What is th e correct link to your hi beam lamps. The Lasfit video is great and I have ordered those@@TRDJon
hey how is the tape and grommet holding up? any moisture forming inside the headlight?
Was doing great when I took it out to put the LEDS in
Awesome good to know. Gonna do mine today!
did u use double sided tape for the DDM ballast? i couldn’t tell in the video how u have it sticking to the frame
Yes i did
How do the low beams work? It looks like the bulb goes in from the side.
It’s a projector housing
In the beginning of the video you said hids for now. Did you end up sticking with them or did you go to LEDs ? Thanks for any Input. Biggest think I dislike about my 4Runner.... The stock headlights
I have the auxbeam t1 LED bulbs right now. Check the video in my lighting playlist. HIDS are way better though hard to compete with HID
Heres a dumb question. At 11:39...the black, plastic piece you put back on there....how did you get the pushpin things to go back in?
Sorry....I'm VERY new at working on my vehicle and I'm just not sure on some things. Lol
Never mind. Found out. Now I REALLY feel dumb. Lol
All good!
Did you remain high beams?
?
great video... any issue with snow or rain visibility ?
Can’t talk for snow but great for rain
How is the 3m tape holding up
Was good!! I have a different LED kit in it now though
Blue TRD Jon was it still holding when you changed it out
Yep it was still stuck on
What do you prefer? HID or LEDs? Thinking of getting some LEDs from Xenon Depot for both high&low. I may change to HID if you highly recommend it though. Thanks brotha!
No worries! So I love the HIDS. The beam shoots very far out and I see a lot of the road ahead of me having the HID’s as the low beam lights. That Blue TRD I’m fine with the HIDs being able to warm up, but sounds great then! I appreciate it brotha! Will look into it!
No worries! If you got any other questions just let me know.
Hey Jon, what size was that tool you used to drill a hole on the back cover of the low beam?
Did you use 1 inch drill bit to cut out dust cover ?
Man I don’t remember. Best advice is whatever is a tad smaller then the grommet
Does anyone know how to replace the entire driver side headlight module (not a bulb) in a 2011 4-runner? I believe that I have to take off the side fender panel unless there's another way to get to the far left bolt. Please advise if anyone knows how to do this without removing the fender.
VLEDs.com makes awesome stuff. I've been using them for years.
How have these headlight and brights been working for you? Have they been reliable? I have a 2017 Tacoma limited and I want to replace all of my lights and I want to make sure I get good long lasting ones that have a better color
No complaints yet. I do like the hids better then led but I love how instant the led brights are.
That Blue TRD thanks for the help and you do think these h11s will work on my Tacoma lights too?

It seems everyone else reviews XD. It was good to see a review of another brand
Just a heads up, I think your amazon link for the ddm tuning 9005 high beams brings you to the H15 high beams instead.
Thank you!
This video is old so they may have changed it
Blue trd Jon what tint percentage do you have
I have 5% minus the windshield
you mentioned you might have to "aim" the brights lower.
Have you compared these to the Morimoto kits
I haven’t. But I’ve heard nothing but positive about their kits.
Still using LED lows or have you gone back to HID?
I’m still using the LED
1. Are there overheating issues with the low beams? 2. Are the HIDs street legal?
I haven’t had any issue with them over heating and I’ve had them on for a while now. And yes they are. Certain watts and color temp are not legal. But these are.

Hey, can you tell me the difference between a 12” three row light bar and a four row?
Only thing I can think of is more lights so it should be brighter
Hey dude! Still digging on your videos! My smurf runner is loving life! Already put 11k miles on it! O_O CHEEEYUH!!!

Can someone maybe put the YEAR of your model on the video!!??
huh?
What is the color of the HID kit?
I did 5500k so a tad blue but mostly white
I added 3m yellow weather stripping around grommets, no moisture gets into headlights know.
DDM's lifetime warranty is pointless for the HID's because they will only replace the broken lamp so even if you get the same color temp, the new one will look different from the existing one.
Just depends on I guesss how long it’s been.
Is the CANbus important ?
Mine are canbus. And you don’t need the error code thing
what size hole did you drill? does it say on the instructions in the box?
Maybe a little less that an inch. No It doesn’t. I just went with a little smaller then the grommets so when you place the grommets in it. It’s secure.
That Blue TRD Thank you very much!
No worries. If you need more info just comment or DM me on Instagram 👍🏼
Im kinda stuck between HID and LED? Not sure which one benefits more?
cool
Thanks. They are awesome
Does the bed LED high beam also come on with the DRL?
It does but this one seams to have a low current to it. So people say with other brands its full bright. There is a difference with them as DRL and full on. So not to bright
Is there any Flickr on drl mode?
Just slightly. If you look at my F16 led video. Those are a better option then these ddm ones. Less flicker.
That electrical tape he put on ill just peel off from the heat of the engine, dont bother. Find something better to use.
Wish I would of watched this before I bought my lights!
Ah dang! It’s all good. What did you go with?
That Blue TRD went with aiden james customs.... Definitely cost more and I got pretty much the same thing
Ah dang. Well as long as they are bright and good! That stinks though. Sorry
nice..
have you had clear coated the whole truck? if ever how much did it cost you and where did you had it done?
thanks
No I haven’t. Just basic wax and sealant
Why didn’t you just go with led lights you would saved money
What do you mean
Led lights you said cost you 70$ hid lights costs you 140$ so the total would be 210$
Good video too love your 4Runner
ah sorry if i may have worded it bad. Both sets were 70-80$ each. So total for all 4 lights was 150 ish.
Oh okay I got it
Hey did you have to do anything to let your high beams run as the DRL without flickering? I know XenonDepot has an option to add a module that converts the signal to send full power to the DRL. did you do anything like that or do you just not use the DRL?

Blue TRD Jon gotcha. I ended up getting the XenonDepot LED Pro high beams. Hoping to install next weekend
Sounds good! Lemme know how you like them
Awe how can I stock you if you block out your address?
Your sound sounds like you are underwater in a bath tube.
Why didn't you take the battery out? Just curious
The video could use more light under the hood
I don't like using electrical tape all that much because over time it degrades. Or if you need to take the tape off to get to the connector it leaves behind a residue, sometimes. Just MY opinion
Looks really good. I used LED in my XJ and the backlash(?) from the light in the snow is aweful!
