Me too, but my love is Don Henley. I'm in some great Don Henley and Eagle fan groups. I'm sure there's a Glenn fan club. His son is a great substitute for Glenn. But we all remember Glenn. I think you'd like some of them.

I was still at school when Hotel California was released, I think it was the first album I purchased with my pocket money. This concert is amazing😊
"The Heart of the Matter" of the greatest songs ever written or sung, IMHO. It came out during a time when I really needed to hear it. I had spent the previous six years consumed by hate over my divorce and taking it out on innocent bystanders. I remember the first time I heard the bridge:

Something went off in my head and I felt as if fifty pounds had been lifted off my shoulders. It was only then I was able to forgive and let go of all the pain and heartache.
Thank you Don, J.D. and Mike for such an inspirational song. I hope it has helped others as much as it as helped me.

The Eagles released a documentary several years ago that was on Netflix in which there was an interview with Don Felder. He became very emotional as he talked about being kicked out of the Eagles over a contractual dispute, in which Glenn Frey called him "A whiner and complainer". No mention of him was even given in the closing credits of the documentary, as if he had never existed and he was one of the founding members of The Eagles. A really sad commentary on a great group.
They are the best band ever. I grow up with there music.

hard to believe the acoustic guitar version as good as the good old electric version 20 years earlier...this is the all time guitar singing band
Not to mention, Joe Walsh was fresh out of recovery. They sounded great. You can call them sellouts and pop slaves, but they dragged rock into country and just had a really good sound. Good music is good music. The internal wars and their spats all fades away when they put the show on. Smokin Joe on "Pretty maids all in a row" is one of my favorites. HE really came back. God bless you Joe.

Joe Walsh had his own band over 50 years ago. Barn Storm. Country Rock was around way before the Eagles. Jackson Browne helped them by writing Take It Easy with Glenn and getting them signed. We had Moby Grape, Poco, Neil Young, Crosby, Stills, Nash (and Young). Oh My Gosh. I could go on and on. All those bands played in California. Then you have Tom Petty RIP and the Allman Brothers RIP from the Southern States. Too many to name. Look these bands up. You’d love them. ✌🏽
I look at this concert today and I say they were having the time of there lives! Glen was looking healthy and sounding awesome! Meanwhile he was still fighting an illness that he didn't let show during concerts! He was very strong through his fight and I wish he never had the illness! Boy I miss him! :(

That fast little thing Don Felder does at the beginning of hotel California gets a polite reaction, but would have made the crowd go absolutely crazy if that had been Joe Walsh. I like Joe Walsh but I never quite got why people go so nuts over him when you got a guy like Don Felder who is just as good in my opinion

Joe Walsh is a legend and there’s only one Joe Walsh but (speaking as a professional guitar player of 40 years) Felder is technically far superior in every style essential to the Eagles music.
Don Felder was asked, by Henley, to come up with an improvised acoustic intro to Hotel California and came up with the piece, that precedes the song, at very short notice. The first night was slightly different but still impressive.
Henley didn’t ask Joe because he simply is not capable.
Joe Walsh replaced Bernie Leadon but, likewise, could not play anything off those original recordings. Fact.
Joe is hailed as a slide guitar virtuoso but again Felder is technically far superior.
Listen to ‘Good day in hell’ or the solo in ‘Love will keep us alive’. Played with no pick and all strings muted (or blocked) when not played.

The acoustic Hotel California is the slickest career maneuver in the history of rock and roll. Of course aided by the fact that every single musician is a force. Together, magic.
It's wednesday evening.........almost past midnight and I've seen and heard this many times but still I am moved to tears to see how much love and warmth is spread from their music and voices! I thank the universe to have given us this wonderful music

We've seen them 8 times since 1975. The last time was 4/4/2023 . I still have all the ticket stubs.

Joe Walsh is one of the most underdiscussed, underappreciated absolute Rock Gods in the world. His singing & guitar playing are so specific & wonderful.
Joe was the American version of Keith Moon. Not instrumental but off stage hijinx excuse the pun.

but with out Randy Meisner there is a big hole missing there. he was the best and one of 3 founders of Eagles .they treated him like crap so he went on his own .SAD .you see they skipped Take it to limit one more time coz no one can do it like Randy .best song they ever made.
With all due respect to Glenn Frey (RIP), I don't think he was the easiest person to get along with. The story behind Randy Meisner's sudden departure was he and Glenn began exchanging words at the close of a concert in which Meisner had refused to sing "Take it to the Limit" because he was not feeling well and could not hit those high notes that night. Frey chased him off the stage and he ran, got into a car and left. I have already posted about the emotional interview Don Felder did following his departure from The Eagles over a contract dispute in which Frey called him "A whiner and complainer". He was not even given credit as one of the founding members of the group, which I thought was unfair. No matter what one may think about Meisner or Felder, what they contributed to the group pales in comparison to any personal grievances Frey may have had against them. I just finished watching Felder's guitar work on "Hotel California" and it is in one word: Breathtaking.

Ive been a huge fan since I guess when i first heard Best of my Love in the 70's. I never paid much attention to the ongoing gossip about the feuds they had amongst them. Until now. After watching interviews and concert video from different eras, and now half way through Don Felders book, ive come to a simple basic conclusion... at the root of their constant squabbles all started the minute Frey met Felder. Frey wanted to be Felder. Don Felder was the quintessential rock god who was totally playing because he loved it. He had an uncanny resume of people he grew up with - learning and playing with. He had a family at home. And most of all, he was better looking than Frey. Thats it. Freys ego. (RIP GF and BM)

Saw them once at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. Later I found here on Yt a BBC registration of a 1973 concert that started just as I remembered: four Eagles sitting besides eachother. Of course Henley and Frey, the other two Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner. Cannot find it anymore but than there is a site selling DVDs and there you can see about the same concert.

Hell's been Freezing Over for the past 20 years. Any day now, the New Ice Age will be among us. Look, I've loved The Eagles all their life and I guess as long as they keep selling out arenas, why not keep going but for God's sake, if you're going to keep playing forever the least you can do is drop the ticket price to a figure that doesn't require a person to take out a third mortgage or a bank loan just to see and hear them play the same old songs from 45+ years ago. I guess there's no amount of greed that Henley thinks is enough. Prices start around $150 and go up to an astounding figure nearing $1000. I saw them in Phoenix around '73 or '74 for $8 before I joined the military, then again during the Hotel California tour for around $20. Bought The Long Run album, turned it up loud and imagined them onstage. That's it. Nothing new since then. Rant over, sorry!

IM 60 years old , on a fixed income. So because of artists like Don , I will never be able to see what's left of the Eagles..... so sad that great bands and others put money before the genuine pleasure of fans who would give their left arm to see certain artists perform ... but will not have the chance because they can't spend that amount of cash to see their favorite artists if they want to have a roof over their heads and food in their belly ! People like Don Henley don't care as long as he gets the almighty dollar ! One of these days I pray he remembers HE CAN'T TAKE IT WITH HIM AND LOWERS THE TICKET PRICES SO HIS POORER EQUALLY PASSIONATE FANS GET THE PLEASURE OF SEEING THEM
You’re right though. I went to 2 or was it 3 shows in 2014 or 2015, I think. 2 at The Garden and 1 in Newark, Tickets were $700 and up, and when I took my phone out to see if my kids had called, security was on me, INSTANTLY!!!! They said “take the phone out again and you’re out”!!! I couldn’t believe it. I wasn’t even going to take a picture, but for a $700 seat, (when you can’t even sit, because everyone in front of you is standing & you can’t see), you should be able to take a picture as a memory of the night, AND not be accosted by security!!!!!
I know Henley is an asshole, but Lord do I love hearing these Brothers play together!

stumbled into 3rd row center stage floors for this tour in Toronto at 28 ... most amazing show Ive ever seen ,Exhibition Stadium (open football stadium) had the worst acoustics but it sounded like a studio album

I have seen them 6 times since 1980. I saw them in PGH in Oct. 2023 then I flew down to Hollywood, Florida the beginning of March of this year (2024). I plan on going to Vegas this fall if/ when they book at the Sphere. I sure hope they confirm soon so I can book the flight!
