Knights in white satin is my wife and my favorite song. Wi waltzed to it and I played it to her while she in hospice care waiting to meet Jesus we were married for 54 years and she is the love of my life.
We had it played by an acoustic duo at our wedding, only 7 years ago. And my wife is also the love of my life. We hope one day to be married as long as you ❤❤
In 1974 I would play Seventh Sojourn over and over as I drove north under the stars at night through the California desert headed to ski in Mammoth, my friends all drifting off to sleep. My friend Phil passed away years ago, and Jim is somewhere in Mexico. At 67 I look back and smile.
From our perspective, that is hard to imagine, eh? I came of age listening to the Moodies (I'm 63 now). These dang Gen Z'ers will never know real and good music.

That's great! You probably have a very good mind for all those memories! I lived in Arlington, VA (Yorktown HS, class of '74) from '71 to '95 (with a break for college). My first concert at the Cap Center was Grand Funk Railroad in '73 and I saw Elton John and Kiki Dee in '75. I'm also a big Journey fan and saw them in Honolulu (without Steve Perry) around 2015. Rock on! @@jrnyfan_57
I totally agree with this sentiment. i was very young when they started performing, so never did involve myself in the drug and alcohol culture back in the day. Rediscovered the Moody's in 2018 after viewing the Rock and Roll Hal of Fame Performance. They sounded wonderful. haven't stopped listening since.
Thanks for posting this concert. I'm 69 and having a blast🎉 The Moody Blues music will live on forever. Our generation had the greatest music. Thanks Moody's
May your words ❤live on forever and be shared with friends and family... I've been listening 🎶 in their joy to every album, loving every album cover ... It's amazing that he's string enough to stand and perform for so many ❤
Yes the Moody Blues, Elton John, Queen, Chris De Burgh in no particular order. I would also add Celine Dion who has the best female singing voice I've ever heard.
I’m 84 years old. At one time I was In a sailboat, the Atlantic was open and I felt I could go anywhere. That’s what Sirius does, it takes me there in my mind.
I don't have a computer, or laptop, yet. Can't afford one. I only have a mobile phone. I plug my headset into my mobile phone, and the Orchestra and the Moody Blues sounds wonderful.
So here I am at 66 with tears in my eyes. In Vivid remembrance of what I was just reminded of, and an ache in my heart of Music's distant past. Maybe as young teenagers, we didn't quite know what was before Us as well as what was to come. I can't hardly describe the death of so many many things around Us and beyond Us. The planet is falling apart and War is killing folks. The Moody Blues Rocked Our World then and now. Sadness and happiness all in One Music Odyssey. LOVE & PEACE 2 all. I Hope to see Us on the Other side at the Concert in Space.💖✌ WoW ~ I smell Patchouli 😁 ~d(-_-)b~ Roctober 2023
I toured with Bob Seger for 46 years or so. Going home for a quick break - We were in route to Detroit’ our home town when we heard The Moody Blues were performing at the old Olympia Stadium. Those on our tour that could made our way to see and listen to the Moody’s-one of our all time favorite bands. Thanks fellas! Your songs are always in our thoughts.
I am sitting here and watching the fabulous Moodys for the 1000th time, but this time my heart is a little bit heavy,my Brother in Law,who I went, and saw them live with,is fighting cancer of the Liver. We are all Praying for you Bob.❤❤😊😊❤❤😊😊❤❤😊😊
The Moody Blues music made the best use of a full orchestra! That is what gave their songs that unearthly sound. Not to mention Justin Hayward's awesome, iconic voice! So beautiful.
SUCH a wonderful band, so many Great songs, and so good live. I swear I went to bed for 2 years, between the ages of 8-10, listening to THE DAYS OF FUTURE PASSED. No wonder I had such a happy childhood.
I wrote my first song listening to the orchestrated part of Days Of Future Past. I wrote these beautiful lyrics Passed out. Woke up, grabbed my guitar and the music appeared.....😮
Never get tired of listening to the Moody Blues. At 73 I wore out the vinyl, eight track, cassette and now the C D of Days of Future Past. Love their music!
I’m 71 years old, discovered Days of Future Past and became a Moody Blues Fan immediately. Fortunately, I was able to get backstage twice and spend time with each of them except Mike Pinder who had left by then. Justin is an incredible Songwriter! The Group is simply Amazing!!!
Time goes by much too quickly, but great music never dies. We were privileged to see the Moody Blues twice, late in their musical careers. Simply among the most wonderful, memorable concerts ever! thanks for sharing your musical art, poetry and creativity with us!
I’m 74 too. I made some beautiful, slightly mind altered love to their music in 1970 and on and also did some truly wicked things with their music as a soundtrack. I still dream about both when I hear their music. Thanks for all the memories. . . .
I am 74 and seen this magical band with different Orchestras many times live , I still have the same feelings of this band that never gets old but is always fresh perfect sounds of music that never gets old they never will be replaced by any other bands they are in a class of thier own we had the best music festivals that never will be again. 22:35
It was 1971 and I had just gotten out of the Army when I first hears the album. First time I had experienced head phones. With a little help from MJ. I was totally blown away and still am. 79 years old and still blown away by the Moody Blues and their Moog synthesizer.
Living in Philadelphia they came I believe in the late seventies to the Spectrum. When they came out on stage Ray Thomas stepped on a loose plank and went down and broke his flute.Out of the audience as if by Magic an Ivory Flute was being passed up from him from someone in the audience.unbelievable.Im 72 and still cannot get enough of the real “Blues”
Sad to hear of the passing of Mike Pinder. His melltron defines so much of the Moody sound. Will always wonder what if he had rejoined after the band reunited. Thanks for the music, gentlemen. Ray, Graham and Mike rest in peace. John and Justin, carry on. Moddys forever.
I'm already 68 years old now and nothing no better of good Old rock and roll all the bands than will not be able to go compare to the bands of today I'm old-school and love the moody blue
The great music of our era (I'm 72) will not be reproduced. The attitudes, events, other musical influences, friendships, and experimental forces coming of age that shaped society brought us the best music, IMO.
I have a ticket to see Justin Oct 2024. I have a sinking feeling it’ll be an acoustic set which will be pale in comparison to this orchestrated concert. Never mind - lucky our 70’s idols are still performing and doing it in style. Edited to say been watching all Justin’s acoustic videos on here and been blown away by them too. Roll on October.
@@ConnieB-ig4ds I did. He had Julie, Carmen and Mike with him. The hall was only half full- the blame for which should be with our City Council The promoters booked Squeeze the night before and 10cc for the night after Justin. Bear in mind that Justin’s audience is more “mature”, and most are pensioners who have just had their Winter Fuel Payments removed, so many are feeling the pinch and meeting your energy bills takes priority.
Found many videos of Justins concerts in Europe Oct 2024. The smaller venues seem to bring out the best in Justin and his audience. Never mind the orchestra the four of them carry the shows very well.
Born in May 1969, my parents blasted In Search Of The Lost Chord, and Threshold Of A Dream, while mom was pregnant with me. I was singing their songs all through my childhood, teen and early adulthood. Then, I fell away because my dad died in 2005, Christmas eve, at just 55 years old, from a tough 7 month cancer battle. Here I am again, delving deep into my past musical safety, and joy. There is no other band that even comes close to the Moody Blues in talent, inspiration and creativity. I adore them, and Justin's voice soothes my soul, my heart, like no other alive. I will be crushed when he leaves us, he is the last master of song, in my mind, and a tether to my dad. I miss you, so terribly, Dad, and I weep for all the lost life, and time with us, you have missed. This concert video, and comment, I dedicate to you, Dad. The worlds smallest symphony orchestra"THE MOODY BLUES" with each song better than the other.John Lodge,Justin Hayward,Ray Thomas,Michael Pinder & Grame Edge!! How do you spell talent it,s really quite easy The Moody Blues...Gone are the early days of Denny Laine & Lord Tim Hudson and todays Moodies just as they were from 1967 on continue to have no equal..Rock On Baby,Rock On...The Shanman
at 71 I have LOVED Moody Blues FOREVER AND HAVE EVERY ALBUM!! Grew up in CA but in the 1990's I saw them in a baseball field in Medford OR WHICH WAS INCREDIBLE AND THE BEST CONCERT EVER! Sounded right out of the studio quality and ROCKED MY WORLD AND STILL DOES!! 🤩🤩🤩
I was fortunate enough to have met them in Daytona Beach. Sat on a couch with Ray and talked for half an hour and then went to their hotel and had dinner. I WILL NEVER FORGET THAT NIGHT!!
The Moody Blues were The band of all time since the 60's when I was just a wee girl. At around 8 years old I have loved there music. I saw them in concert at the Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto and the whole building was packed and was rocking!!! They are the BEST !!! With love to all of them, love always from Sheri Dale, aka Kat Blackmore !!!
This is so beautiful, I’m 74 & I was a teenager when The Moody Blues first started performing. I love seeing them performing in their older years. Justin Hayward is 77 these days, he was the youngest band member who joined the band after, can’t remember his name, quit The Moody Blues, lucky for Justin.👍Rip Ray & Graeme. ♥️
A classmate in High school gifted “On a Threshold of a Dream” in early 70’s she started a life long love of the Moody Blue’s. I believe in some way she, and they helped me understand what’s important in this world today. I’m very grateful for who I am today for there inspiration. : ) Take you… Moody Blue’s!!!
@@charlesrobertson9442 Same thing with me. A high school friend gifted me the 8 track tape In Search of the Lost Chord. That was the first time I heard the Moody Blues. That was Christmas 1970. The gift that keeps on giving. Changed my life. Thank you Marleen.
During the late 1960’s and 1970’s the Moody Blues were the ultimate journey into the inner consciousness explorers. The wondrous album covers were always a joy for fans and followers of the band as well. I believe “Every Good Boy Deserves Favor, and Seventh Sojourn were my favorites, with Question Of Balance a close third. Ray Thomas’ flute playing me to take up the flute as well.
10-22-23: "... the ultimate journey into the inner consciousness explorers." Try re-writing that in English. Perhaps the word "into" can be replaced by "for." The Moody Blues (nor any other band) did not/could not go "into... explorers" (of any kind).
Doesn't get any better than these guys. These guys love playing and clearly love being together as one of Rock's most enduring bands. Methinks that "The Story in Your Eyes," especially that opening guitar riff, is as underappreciated a rock song as there is. What a base beat! They sound as good as they did in '64!!! Bravo, Moody Blues.
They don’t make music like this anymore -,this is pure magic music !! I agree with all comments below - one of the best bands of all time …love the inclusion of the orchestra. how accurate is their song ‘ strange times’ for 2024 - we have moved into the house of the water sign - Aquarius !
Justin Hayward has been playing a beautiful ES guitar the whole show. Then he comes out for the encore "Ride My Seesaw" on my guitar- a white Fender Stratocaster with ebony finger board. What a rush! Already blown away then he finishes me off. Blissful beyond belief. Moody Blues- so much gratitude 🙏 🕉
I like all of the nice Comments and Replies that I'm reading, whether they be for this Group or any other 60s Group,it just Proves that you aren't the only one who feels the way you feel about The Classic Oldies Acts. Weren't we all Blessed to live in that time?❤❤😊😊❤❤😊😊
I saw the Moodies play with the orchestra in my city, I believe it was mid 90s. My friend & I lucked out and had 2nd row in the middle. We knew where they were staying, we went with only a hope & a dream..and Gordon Marshall, drummer & John Lodge came into the bar. Will never forget, Gordon came over right away as am sure he knew we'd been at the show, cause he saw us. Then John came in, I thought I will never have this chance again..I had on a Moodies pen on my jacket. John said, where'd you get that? I said I bought it...then I said, John I've been waiting for this awesome opportunity for 25 yrs...and he graciously came to our table where Gordon was already there. All 4 of us talked for over 2 hrs. Unforgettable, of course they took pictures w/ us, signed our concert books we'd purchased at the concert. Truly we talked not only about music, but many other social issues. It was like talking to friends I'd known for yrs, and I think they felt comfortable as well. It finally got so late, & they had to be up very early for their flight to another state for a concert the next night. My pics I took of course are framed & proudly displayed in my home...It was MAGICAL!! btw..have seen Moodies many times, but this time was Beyond..I try to see them every time they are here....XO
+BK Swanson (Buffy) Life is sweet at times. A magical night. When I saw them in concert about 20 years ago, it was more than music. It was ... idk. Fun, spiritual, eternal, good, sweet, powerful. We were fans before then, and well, I can say that I experienced love in that concert. I was changed, came away a better man, more tolerant, etc Interesting.
( 54:42 )Those harmonies ❤ I remember, sometime in the 90s dancing to this song, on the lawn, at a Moody Blues concert and being filled with pure glee, surrounded by others dancing and singing, without a care in the world. I bought a black Moody Blues tee with a white dove 🕊 and stars on it.
It was the beginning of the summer of 1969 when Threshold of a Dream came out. I was 16 and hooked after that. It was a great album to smoke pot and drop acid to. I really miss those days...

My Virginia auto license plate reads “THRSHLD”.
I'm 69 and having a blast🎉
The Moody Blues music will live on forever. Our generation had the greatest music.
Thanks Moody's
That's a fact
May your words ❤live on forever and be shared with friends and family... I've been listening 🎶 in their joy to every album, loving every album cover ... It's amazing that he's string enough to stand and perform for so many ❤
1000 % agree. ❤ the 70’s.!!
Yes the Moody Blues, Elton John, Queen, Chris De Burgh in no particular order. I would also add Celine Dion who has the best female singing voice I've ever heard.
My favorite all time band.Im 72
Years k
I’m 84 years old.
At one time I was In a sailboat, the Atlantic was open and I felt I could go anywhere.
That’s what Sirius does, it takes me there in my mind.
How lucky we were to grow up with inspiring music.
I don't have a computer, or laptop, yet. Can't afford one. I only have a mobile phone.
I plug my headset into my mobile phone, and the Orchestra and the Moody Blues sounds wonderful.
That’s all you need!
Threshold of a Dream...To Our Children's Children. My 2 favorite albums of theirs....
Canadian here 79…..a widow, a father of 2 wonderful people. This was a magical time, the Moody Blues helped me get there.
👏👏👍👍💥💥💥
It was a magical time.
東京からです。もう私も63歳になりました。高校時代このアルバム💿レコードを歌詞を覚えるまで聴きました。映像で見られるなんて夢のようです。

So here I am at 66 with tears in my eyes. In Vivid remembrance of what I was just reminded of, and an ache in my heart of Music's distant past. Maybe as young teenagers, we didn't quite know what was before Us as well as what was to come. I can't hardly describe the death of so many many things around Us and beyond Us. The planet is falling apart and War is killing folks. The Moody Blues Rocked Our World then and now. Sadness and happiness all in One Music Odyssey. LOVE & PEACE 2 all. I Hope to see Us on the Other side at the Concert in Space.💖✌ WoW ~ I smell Patchouli 😁 ~d(-_-)b~

Really a good post. You took the words out of my mouth.
Thank you fellow "Moody" fan
The first concert that I ever went to was the Moody Blues in 1970. Fell in love with their music then and now at 71 I still love it ❤
I toured with Bob Seger for 46 years or so.
Quite the compliment coming from a fellow musician. Thanks for the insight.
We love you, Bob. Right from New Hampshire.
Love you Back. Thanks 🙏❤❤😊😊
The Moody Blues music made the best use of a full orchestra! That is what gave their songs that unearthly sound. Not to mention Justin Hayward's awesome, iconic voice! So beautiful.
My favorite band of all time...no question
Saw them at the Verizon/Sandstone Amphitheater August 28, 1998 with the Denver Colorado Orchestra. WOW, what a show that was. I'll never forget it!
Bravo for the Rock n Roll bands of yesteryear. They played and sang and you could understand the words.
I can’t get enough of The Moody Blues! “ I keep watching this over & over again.👍👏👏👏♥️
Ditto.
SUCH a wonderful band, so many Great songs, and so good live. I swear I went to bed for 2 years, between the ages of 8-10, listening to THE DAYS OF FUTURE PASSED. No wonder I had such a happy childhood.
Very Cool remembering those symphonic rock sounds all over the airwaves...
I wrote my first song listening to the orchestrated part of Days Of Future Past. I wrote these beautiful lyrics
Passed out.
I'm knockn on 70 now and I would to have been at this event I,v seen this a few times already can't get enough
I’m 74 too. I made some beautiful, slightly mind altered love to their music in 1970 and on and also did some truly wicked things with their music as a soundtrack. I still dream about both when I hear their music. Thanks for all the memories. . . .
Master musicians, all of them. R.I.P, Mike. I feel so fortunate to be living in a time I can experience this. Thank you for posting.
God bless The Moody Blues.
I am 74 and seen this magical band with different Orchestras many times live , I still have the same feelings of this band that never gets old but is always fresh perfect sounds of music that never gets old they never will be replaced by any other bands they are in a class of thier own we had the best music festivals that never will be again. 22:35
That wonderful solo Justin did in Ride my see saw. One of there best songs ever. Great show.
They are a British national treasure.
Moody Blues and Pink Floyd shaped me in many ways. And all that fantastic music in the late 60s and early 70s...Thanks for this concert!
Josef Nagy I second that!
Very well Linked indeed ✌I Cuncur with You
I agree
YUP!
I agree
Can’t think of a better way to see in the new year than spending quality time watching this concert.
I could have not said it any better❤❤❤❤❤
The great music of our era (I'm 72) will not be reproduced. The attitudes, events, other musical influences, friendships, and experimental forces coming of age that shaped society brought us the best music, IMO.
Denny Laine
Spectacular! The Orchestra brings so much depth and beauty to songs that are already just about perfect.
What orchestra?

I too have a ticket to see Justin in Pennsylvania on December 4 and I can’t wait!!!
Well, it's October 31st, 2024 - sure hope you went to see Justin !!! 🌠🌠🌠 wish I was there !!!!
There are no words great enough to honor this band.!!!

Man, headphones i am once again blown off planet at...69 years of age....
Fantastic! I first saw them in 1971 and last saw them with my granddaughter in 2011! They are the best!
at 71 I have LOVED Moody Blues FOREVER AND HAVE EVERY ALBUM!! Grew up in CA but in the 1990's I saw them in a baseball field in Medford OR WHICH WAS INCREDIBLE AND THE BEST CONCERT EVER! Sounded right out of the studio quality and ROCKED MY WORLD AND STILL DOES!! 🤩🤩🤩
Great musicians, one of the major bands in Rock history
I'm 76 and just watching right now
Iam 81years old watching tonight time is 01 27 day

I was fortunate enough to have met them in Daytona Beach. Sat on a couch with Ray and talked for half an hour and then went to their hotel and had dinner. I WILL NEVER FORGET THAT NIGHT!!
Wow!…tell all please🙏🏻
That's cool stuff. All great dudes
I’m so envious of your chat with Ray . He could shuffle like no other..gorgeous man..
I didn’t discover them until 1972, but I’ve been a fan ever since. I have several of their albums on vinyl.
JUST WHAT THE TRUTH IS... I CAN'T SAY ANYMORE.... THE MOODY S WERE TOP SHELF !
RIP BROTHER RAY...LOVE YOUR FLUTE PLAYING MAN,
ALOHA
How beautiful this is with the orchestration.
I’m back here again, I just can’t get enough of them, plus it helps me get thru life, not feeling good. “ I love you too, Moody Blues! ♥️
I was at this concert ,wonderful evening, sad to think only Justin and John are now the only two remaining moodies alive now
This is so beautiful, I’m 74 & I was a teenager when The Moody Blues first started performing. I love seeing them performing in their older years. Justin Hayward is 77 these days, he was the youngest band member who joined the band after, can’t remember his name, quit The Moody Blues, lucky for Justin.👍Rip Ray & Graeme. ♥️
Denny Laine is whatzhizname
@@fueledbylovethanks for reminding me. I loved his song “ Go Now! “
@@kathyrizzi8754 Yep, I guess when he sang Go Now he took his own advice and left. That worked out really well for us all.
@@fueledbylove it sure did, Justin Hayward & John Lodge were the best fit to make it so wonderful.👍🥰
Mike Pinder (mellotron) quit after the Octave album
A classmate in High school gifted “On a Threshold of a Dream” in early 70’s she started a life long love of the Moody Blue’s. I believe in some way she, and they helped me understand what’s important in this world today.
I’m very grateful for who I am today for there inspiration. : )
Take you… Moody Blue’s!!!
Thank you, Sue!
Beautiful story.
All the core 7 albums were great but my favourite was To Our Children’s Children’s Children
10-22-23: "... the ultimate journey into the inner consciousness explorers." Try re-writing that in English. Perhaps the word "into" can be replaced by "for." The Moody Blues (nor any other band) did not/could not go "into... explorers" (of any kind).
good god, chill already@@donreed
I hope you are healthy❤ 25:41
Seventh sojourn definitely their best. 71 yr old here.
Going to see Justin Hayward in New Hampshire this weekend...psyched!!!
Moody Blues are my favorite band. Grew up listening to Nights in White Satin when I was just 16. Saw them in concert also. What a night that was.❤
I like all of the nice Comments and Replies that I'm reading, whether they be for this Group or any other 60s Group,it just Proves that you aren't the only one who feels the way you feel about The Classic Oldies Acts. Weren't we all Blessed to live in that time?❤❤😊😊❤❤😊😊
I saw the Moodies play with the orchestra in my city, I believe it was mid 90s. My friend
& I lucked out and had 2nd row in the middle.
Lucky Lady, that does describe a. Magical experience.
Larry B. Ha Truly it was & always will be.
thanks for nice comment...XO
Thanks for sharing it with us BK.
Larry B. Ha sharing & caring my good friend..xo
( 54:42 )Those harmonies ❤
I remember, sometime in the 90s dancing to this song, on the lawn, at a Moody Blues concert and being filled with pure glee, surrounded by others dancing and singing, without a care in the world. I bought a black Moody Blues tee with a white dove 🕊 and stars on it.
Absolutely belong in the super group category. Not many do.
Very few are worthy of it.
It was the beginning of the summer of 1969 when Threshold of a Dream came out. I was 16 and hooked after that. It was a great album to smoke pot and drop acid to. I really miss those days...
Nights in White Satin......This is my favourite song of all time. So full of passion...I cry every time I hear it. ❤❤❤❤ #moodyblues so good. Xx

John Lodge always looks like he’s bouncing around enjoying himself , having a ball.
@@joanthomas6337 I heard him in an interview recently and he said have bass will tour.
Incrivel !!!! Isso foi em 2012!!!
Eles deviam estar todos já com uns sessenta e muitos anos... Estavam ótimos... cheios de energia!!! Muito bom!!!
Glad I was a teenager in the '70's. So many great bands and you could walk around anywhere you wanted to at a big venue and party your ass off.
Brilliant. Just as good now as they ever were. Incredible
