I went vegan almost 10 years ago at age 11 and was vegetarian for a few years before that. Even when I was vegetarian, I would be a very picky eater and eat very little vegetables, so my parents thought I was crazy when I told them I wanted to become vegan.
Turns out, the restriction in my diet that veganism brought actually made me eat a much wider variety of foods. Not looking back unless I suddenly developed a bunch of food allergies 🤣
I was vegetarian for 5 years and vegan for 2….then after being sick my MCAS got activated. So good bye veganism, I’m still mostly plant based though! 👏🏻👏🏻

this is literally my exact story :"O ive always been sussed out at meat or eggs so i thought i was insanely picky eater, i tried going vegeterian for a month or 2 and ever since i was 12 i've been a vegan and i'm barely picky at all :D

@@benconover2227 Thanks for making me feel so old, haha. I was born in 77. Congratulations to you as well! Yes, vegan since 1990 but I'm in Mexico so back then it was "strict vegetarian" for us. Best decision I've made, without a doubt.

Chillies give my migraines, so I substituted medium curry powder to give extra aromatics.
It all tastes for fresh and wonderful.

LOVE these dishes. Are there written recipes anywhere? I’d make that chickpea broccoli dish tomorrow. I’m making the taco dish tonight bc I found a written recipe through Tasty & assume it’s probably the same one, although it’s baked on a sheet pan instead of on stovetop.

I’ve been a pescatarian for 5 years and I’ve always wanted to go vegan but it’s really hard to find alternatives for my favorite seafood meals especially my shrimp tacos and salmon but I definitely want to try this one month challenge 💛

Wen i turned vegan the thing i miss the most was seafood it was really hard to give it up because I'm from a beach town in Spain and i grew up eating fish and seafood. I also made many mistakes but you learn from them and get use to knowing what is vegan and what is not. You can do it!! ☺️💚

Some nice recipes. I am still looking for a nice vegan cheese that melts well. I saw a burrito recipe that started with putting the cheese in the pan and then putting the burrito directly on top to create a protective layer versus moisture.
If there is some kind of sauce it works most of the time. So with pizza you put it on the sauce and then the veggies after. My favourite lasagna recipe is by gaz oakley!
@@Maevelittooij I was thinking more for a burrito, for a pizza that will indeed work. It's to prevent the moisture from the fillings making the wrap soggy. It's from the 4 levels of burrito video by Epicurious.

Nutritional yeast doesn't taste like cheese to me. I love the way it taste but I just don't get the cheese flavor everyone is talking about. 🤔
Yeah it smells sorta like fake cheese flavoring to me but doesn't really get the cheese part.
