Girl, lol, you can make spaghetti vegan too. Most places are willing to customize things. Was it something pre-made so they couldn't remove any meat or cheese? Spaghetti itself is vegan until you add meat and cheese.

@@smiley00 It seemed like she was in an airport. Spaghetti isn't really an airplane food option, as far as I know. 🤷🏼♀️ Hard to know. In the end, not really a big deal, she's not a vegan, after all. Just kind of a bummer.
As a vegan, I wish in challenges like this they would mention the environmental and ethical reasons behind going vegan; it almost never happens and I think this is the primary reason people stick to a vegan or at least a more plant-based diet.
It would be great if they did a tally of the estimated gallons of water, reduction in greenhouse gas output, animal lives saves, etc. these two did in just one week. It is a LOT more than people think.
I respectfully disagree. Mentionning those issues every time we talk about a vegan diet tends to make people be defensive about their habits and they won't be as open to change if they feel like the content is a sermon. To a lot of people, there are the reasons to do it, but then there is daily life. If they end up stuck with no way of making it easy for them, and not even enjoying what they eat, they won't stick to a vegan diet. Showing people that it can be easy and tasty and everything you want it to be is really important because it can seem very intimidating and hard to follow when you don't know anything about plant based diets. I feel like dedicated videos about the ecological repercussions are more useful, and that those food videos just serve another purpose. Just my opinion though!
@@helianthe3457 I get what you're saying! I definitely think, though, that there is a lighthearted way to say, "Hey, while you're enjoying this delicious food, you're saving X amount of CO2 from entering the atmosphere." Information, not shaming, is important.
@@LivingLifeAsMaddie Yeah I get what you mean, I think that at the end of the day it depends of the type of people you're talking to. Some will get annoyed, some don't even know a thing about the damages the meat industry does and might respond better. To each their own I guess!
@Gabriel Leka Don't present your opinion as fact with like one vegan activist to back it up. He didn't prove anything, he just has the same opinion you have lol. It's still just that: an opinion. It's a conversation that is not black or white and that vegan activists are still having to this day. Some argue that on the contrary, your kind of activism just hurts the image of vegans in general, and I tend to agree. Veganism is not just about "being friend of the animals" or whatever, there are a lot of very serious ecological implications, and HUMAN suffering as well (people working in slaughter house are usually working in horrible conditions for example) to take intl account, and when you go off like that talking about being friends of animals or being truthful, you antagonize people instead of interesting them to your point of view. There is a difference between sharing a new lifestyle and being condescending to people.
Honestly a LOT of vegan food doesn't even have greens on it, speaking for myself and some of my friends, a lot of it is just rice, beans, chickpeas and just about any other carb I can find lol, I do eat a ton of veggies, but it doesn't mean you can't go vegan if you dislike a lot of veggies
I feel like this is how people eat when they 'try' being vegan and then stop because they don't like it or they feel like they're limited in food choices. They just need some real vegan food from people who know how to work with vegetables.

For me the only thing that made me really stick with being vegan and make the mental switch was making the ethical connection. Not only is the meat and dairy/egg industry destroying the planet, but the extreme animal suffering and cruelty is not necessary. We can thrive on a plant based diet, we don't need to be eating animals or their byproducts.
Not gonna lie, in the beginning (esp as a vegan) I was like "for real? not a single vegetable?" but Omg I'm crying. The ending statement. We love people with open minds!!
Honestly most Americans don't cook and if they do its very minimum. And if they do "cook" they're used to cooking with animal products which is familiar. Vegan cooking is completely different and takes a bit getting used to. Trial and error. But once you get used to it comes Naturally (:

Difference between the ground and whole flaxseeds is that your body absorbs the omega-3 better from the ground seeds, but in the ground form they do go rancid quicker than the whole form.

But seriously, if you're reading this, Destinee, check out Rose's channel, it's not all Korean inspired but a big chunk of it is.
Dan Robins her foods look yucky sorry those chomping noises are hard to take
EXACTLY!!!😳😂
Kiji Art been there... just one, not delicious, not that successful. Just a hole in the wall. Lots of better vegan choices in that neighborhood. Like vegan streets and v burger. She had the chance to change her boring menu during the pandemic and did not. Sorry. Better choices around for sure.
Kiji Art how do you know that? You do not know, what I do, what my income is? You are probably a child that cannot comeback with an intelligent answer. I don’t like her food. She has a very inflated ego. I think people like Ellen Fisher is better. CLV probably appeals to a very immature crowd. Suite yourself. Anything else? 😉😆
@@clondesirena9867 Wow, looks like there was a lively debate while I was sleeping. Just making a recommendation for a vegan channel that features Korean food. We all have our own preferences.
If u got the time to cook the chicken/waffle combo you can cook anything.
I think it’s so interesting with how complicated new vegans think being vegan is. Like you can totally just use spaghetti noodles if you don’t have soba. You forget how overwhelming it is in the beginning when you have been vegan for so long
Just my thought :-D As if vegan pasta was something else than normal pasta. (Of course, not egg pasta, but most commercial everyday normal pasta is made of just flour and water.) One doesn't need to start eating kale and things one cannot pronounce, or start making your own tofu :-D Especially, when one hasn't had an especially good diet to begin with, it's a bit weird to start worrying about micronutrients :-D
I feel proud of people when they give themselves the opportunity to try something again, vegetables had a bad rep growing up (I had always love them still) you should give yourselfs credit and try it out most of all for your health and and a better quality of life 💚
This makes me happy as a vegan. Especially because African Americans are leaders of the vegan movement. People get this idea it is a bunch of white liberals but it isn't.
It cracks me up when people say veganism is a white people thing. I don’t know who started that lie. My grandfather has been vegan for 40 years. So are a number of my cousins. All of the best vegan restaurants in my city are in black neighborhoods, and they’re always busy.
Veganism came from indians and big part of africa
Hahahaha.. vegan movement started by Americans.. then what indians are 30% of our population are vegan and something 50% eat meat once a week like
@@sushmamondal9765 I am not sure where I said it was started by Americans? I don't think anyone thinks that. I am also clearly speaking as an American in America. As much as I agree with you that there is a lot of vegan/vegetarian Indians they do not make up the demographic in the United States that is propelling veganism forward.
@@sushmamondal9765 you know that most indian are vegetarians not vegans, right?🙂 Like for religious reasons... And who said veganism is an american thing? You cant just wang it in there as american thing when most of ther world, before america was a thing, relied on a more plant based diest
You just cant
Goodful, I just need confirmation that Jeff didn't use those packages of dry active yeast thinking thats what nutritional yeast is for his mac and cheese. Please. Why did he have so many packets out for a non-bread related recipe.
Lmao I really hope he didn't confuse those two!
Guys that’s exactly what happened. I CHOKED
OH MY GOD I didn't even notice that. And he still liked it????
Nutritional yeast is so good. Who needs Parmesan?
Omfgggggg!!! He freaking did, and I’ve been laughing for five minutes straight because of it, MY GAWD 😩😩😩💀💀💀💀💀
This proves how people that fall out of the vegan train is probably because they ate chips and oreos all the time 😂😂
literally! there are so many vegan youtubers who ate so poorly that they developed medical issues then quit for their 'health'. It's so irritating because those influencers are the ones who should be setting a good example and not make people think that being vegan is unhealthy! i wish people realised how good AND healthy our food is so they'd quit meat and dairy and actually experience veganism for themselves!
Rαch Jones people forget you can be an unhealthy vegan.
@@honeybaae7197 of course but i think eating a poor diet is sort of against the 'point' of veganism. Being vegan means you try to avoid animal exploitation and harm as much as possible and by feeding yourself unhealthily you'd be harming yourself but i guess each to their own. the point i was trying to make was that ex vegan influencers shouldn't blame their health issues on veganism if they weren't eating properly. Healthy Crazy Cool's video 'why i now eat fish and eggs for my gut' or something like that explains what i mean as it's irresponsible imo
Im a junk food vegan and all i do is go half super healthy and half cheat, i'm eating healthier than i ever did as a junk food meat eater..
@@rachjones9624 what i mean to say is someone can call themselves a junk food vegan and not eat oreos all day lol from virtue of having to check ingredient lists every time i'm at the grocery ive been steadily learning about healthy eating and its great if people go junk food vegan if they eat healthy too, there's a spectrum..
Girl, lol, you can make spaghetti vegan too. Most places are willing to customize things. Was it something pre-made so they couldn't remove any meat or cheese? Spaghetti itself is vegan until you add meat and cheese.
Fr tho, literally where do you not have the choice to skip on meat? Even when accompanying people in a STEAKHOUSE I still got veggies with pasta or bread. I wish she really would have sticked to the challenge :/
@@helianthe3457 Yeah, I don't quite understand :( She started out so strong and then just sort of flaked.
She was on a plane...not much options?
@@smiley00 It seemed like she was in an airport. Spaghetti isn't really an airplane food option, as far as I know. 🤷🏼♀️ Hard to know. In the end, not really a big deal, she's not a vegan, after all. Just kind of a bummer.
A lot of times restaurants will add chicken broth to tomato sauces and if it’s fresh pasta it may have egg :/
I definitely think, though, that there is a lighthearted way to say, "Hey, while you're enjoying this delicious food, you're saving X amount of CO2 from entering the atmosphere." Or whatever it may be. That's all I mean---definitely don't think this type of content needs hardhitting exposes or slaughterhouse videos (although there is a place for that too). Information, not shaming, is important.
I can’t trust anybody who doesn’t like potatoes 🤔
did you hear how he pronounced grapeseed oil lol
Yes! I was like, what the heck is that?? Haha
Sis.... I was so upset 😢😔
YES and he just moved the f on too, like nothing happened hahaha
GRASPY SOIL
Soba and lentil were also attrocities.
Honestly a LOT of vegan food doesn't even have greens on it, speaking for myself and some of my friends, a lot of it is just rice, beans, chickpeas and just about any other carb I can find lol, I do eat a ton of veggies, but it doesn't mean you can't go vegan if you dislike a lot of veggies
same haha i barely eat any greens.. maybe i should but i'm just not a fan and i still get my nutrients according to cronometer haha
Rather say YOUR vegan food doesn't even have greens on it, people who like greens will eat greens and people who don't like them, won't.
@@tm02-s03 I literally said speaking for myself and my friends lol.
Yeah, I don't think my vegetable intake has increased since becoming vegan.
Jeff's skincare routine must be bomb, 'cause his skin is flawless despite the trash that he eats.
Smh he probably washes his face with handsoap 😤
it's called genes
Heart attack @40, died with good skin.
I feel like this is how people eat when they 'try' being vegan and then stop because they don't like it or they feel like they're limited in food choices. They just need some real vegan food from people who know how to work with vegetables.
The way Jeff pronounces grape seed oil in 9:52 has got me dead 🤣
I was looking for this comment
I got the GRASPEESE oil lol 😂😂
I just about died when she said “do I need to go to the farm to get this mushroom?” 🤣💀
I wish I could cook for these people...get some colour in those dishes.
PLEASE & THANK YOU
Are you still incorporating vegan foods in your diet? Chickpeas and black beans are pretty good fillers in baked goods. Glad you did this video. I needed cooking ideas lol
PLEASE
bro if you don't like veggies, u just need to grow tf up lmaoo
Instead maybe go to a dietist and talk about how to season instead of shame.
the initial commentary is so reflective of why America tops the world in cardiovascular disease. BY FAR.
Not all Americans are like this , but yes it is a problem
If you don’t eat veggies, you’re literally begging your body to be diseased 😫😫😭
It would've been cool to see a month to see changes in their energy (Jeff did) and their complexion and their palate. And how their body reacts to smelling and eating meat afterwards. But at least this week got them open to veggies.
wait-- she grew up in korea but doesn't like vegetables?? Korea literally has the best vegetables LOL
Yeah I agree asians eat vegetables in every single lunch and dinner ever.
She probably ate Korean barbecue all the time. It used to be delicious before I became a vegan
"I don't like vegetables"
"I don't have a diet"

Sounds like grassfeed soil. Was that grapeseed oil Jeff?
I was laughing so hard.
😂😂
I can't help but judge them. Like where were your parents? Didn't they try to help you enough or what? Do you know vegetables is part of a healthy diet throughout life like WTFFF?!?! Can't believe this kind of people exist nowadays.
Exactly! Who on earth doesn't like veggies but eats collard greens!😂 Don't come @ me
I'm just genuinely asking
And don't get me started on her disliking potatoes like WTF!!!
i don’t understand how people are so picky like wtf when i was growing up if i didn’t like something who tf cared eat it or don’t but if you served yourself you for sure ain’t going to waste it lmao
Right either you ate or starved lol
We didn’t have the choice to not eat it. If my mother cooked it, you were going to show respect and eat it.
TenDMWU I hated Brussels sprouts until someone showed me the correct way to cook them. Huge difference! Now I eat them all the time.
i’m a picky eater to this day but i still like vegetables lmfao like i’m more of picky of meats lmfao
I was suprised at Jeff's turn around at the end with that kale salad 😯😍
Broccoli & spinach are literally the easiest veggies to love! Now if they said carrots or celery..😷
I think its the opposite . I like spinach carrot and celery but hateeeee brocolli

What about potatoes??
Cooked carrots are so gross

You guys need to go to Van Nuys for the best vegan tacos in the world at El Cocinero. Also, I love how this whole experience has gotten you guys excited to cook. You can see the transition from the beginning of the experiment and the end, how hesitant and scared you guys looked to cook in general. I'm currently transitioning to veganism. 90% vegan food atm. Love it, skin is clearer and I feel amazing.

@BBC Censored, I absolutely agree with you! The only thing I regret is that I didn't go vegan earlier 🤦🏻♀️
As a vegan, it's good to have reminders like this about just how far most people are from adopting the lifestyle. Sad really, but that's the reality.
"Most people" lmao what?? Most people don't hate vegetables, they're just weird :/
YESSSS Jenne! Sweet Potato Soul is one of my faves
Says he loves tacos but has never had them with vegetables? Boy those things at tacobell ain't tacos. You need to try them with cilantro and rábano
I loved the video!! But I was so interested in the final thoughts specially Jeff’s energy comments (that he ran 2 miles)
I really like how willing they were to step outside of their boxes and try something they wouldn't ordinarily try and it was fantastic that they got help from the vegan chef encouraging them to eat things they liked in vegan form. That's DEFINITELY the way to start. Bravo, everyone!
I love veggies!!! The hardest thing for me about doing vegan for a week is no cheese 😔
I looove the Violife brand for cheese, if you wanna give it a try. :)
Try it for a week and see how you feel! I thought giving up cheese would be really hard for me but I realized how much better I felt after not eating inflammatory dairy! ❤️
Girl, that's what I thought until I discovered Field Roast vegan cheese on Amazon. Sooo good & tastes even better than natural cheese.
So go ahead and eat vegan, except for cheese. It's a really good start.
Try Chao vegan chz!!
Well said. I switched for the health benefits, and stayed for the ethics. Once I switched my diet, I was more open minded to the truth.
Those are not noodles, just pasta. Pasta.
Proud of Ya'll. Keep it going. Keep learning and growing. Keep both your minds and hearts open. Peace from Big Bro in Houston. ✌️♥️
I started watching this video hoping for the best but expecting the worst haha the funny thing is my highlight was his T-shirt I love it!
Not gonna lie, in the beginning (esp as a vegan) I was like "for real? not a single vegetable?" but Omg I'm crying. The ending statement. We love people with open minds!!
Awww this was cute~!
It's hard to try something new and this was entirely different for you and you guys dove in for entire week.
Great job~
Loved this! Whoever did the editing deserves a raise!
omgg did he really called fusilli pasta noodles LMAOOO ???
I love the way he said grapeseed oil "grass pees oil" 9:51 😂
All i learn watching these kinds of videos is that these people are such bad cooks LoL.
Honestly most Americans don't cook and if they do its very minimum. And if they do "cook" they're used to cooking with animal products which is familiar. Vegan cooking is completely different and takes a bit getting used to. Trial and error. But once you get used to it comes Naturally (:
isn't it normal to messed up a bit when you try new things though
Ngl yall both looked way more vibrant and full of energy by the end of the week!
I love how she said she hated potatoes as if they count as vegetables 😂
They’re a starchy vegetable
Jamin Waite no they're just a starch.
@@foxwithsocks47 They aren't meat. I mean going vegan just means no meat products.
recoil53 I never said it was meat but technically they're not a vegetable. Not all vegan food is a vegetable. I'm vegan myself.
recoil53 meat and vegetables aren’t the only two kinds of food. What about wheat? That’s not a vegetable, it’s a grain. Certainly not meat though. Just because something vegan does mean it’s a vegetable. Hell, Oreos and sour patch kids are vegan, and lord knows those are the furthest thing from vegetables.
I started making vegan recipes a few months ago. I thought it wouldn’t be possible. I used to have a lot of migranes and body aches. I haven’t had them in a while. I also have plenty of energy throughout the day. This has been an eye opening experience.
Chef Jeff has good energy. I'd love a full video of him cooking different vegan meals
This is so much better than the last time they did the “trying veganism for x amount of time” where the nutritionist just said ‘avocados lmao’ the chef taught them the right mindset and ideas! This is how u educate!!!!
This was huge for them! So well done! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Was so much fun watching this! Great Job! Loved it💞
“graspseed soil” that’s all i had to point out 🤧
Oatmeal with fruit, smoothie bowls, granola with plant milk, avocado toast, bagels and vegan cheeses, veggie pasta, mushroom pasta, canned beans with rice, lentil soup, potato chickpea curry, blackbean and avocado wraps, the list is endless!!!
"I really did try y'all"
I don't wanna be annoying, but you didn't try for real though. I mean you could have eaten it cold without a problem? Vegan "meats" are already cooked, so no problem there.
It would have been less enjoyable, but still possible. Also, meals in airplanes are heated up in special ovens, I have never heard a plane having the possibilty of heating something random up on a plane.
No hate though, great video :-)
I was soooooooo happy/excited to see Desitnee's face in the thumbnail she legit makes my day 💞
Also lil tip to get more veggies into your diet try grating veggies into your meals (what I do for my daughter and partner) or evenreplacing at least half the meat you would usually use with veggies especially in things like stir fry 😋
"vegetable haters"
"vegan haters"
WHY HATERS
the key is seasoning darlins... i love broccoli but i would never eat it just like that. i put lots of lemon juice and then salt it. tastes dope
Go plant-based for a week***. Veganism is much more than a diet.
They said go on a vegan diet... Never said anything about the lifestyle in general
Toni technically it would be “vegan-friendly” diet which is just a strict plant based diet
You have to ease people into being vegan. Telling them they need to jump in and do all this stuff right away pushes people away from it.
language evolves and words gain multiple meanings as people use them as such
that was crazy trippy! someone had to do a part 2 to supersize me's series! So glad I found it here.
I am hurt how they are dissing the vegetables 😖
Difference between the ground and whole flaxseeds is that your body absorbs the omega-3 better from the ground seeds, but in the ground form they do go rancid quicker than the whole form.
Actually, if you eat whole flaxseeds, except for the seeds you actually grind with your teeth, they give you zero nutrition. They just pass through you undigested. Otherwise, I agree with you.
@@someguy2135 you are right. But I tend to buy the whole seeds as they last longer and I can't always get them where I live. Then blitz smaller portions in the blender.
That's just because veggies don't taste like anything in the US (in my experience, compared to France)
That’s because most Americans can’t cook
@@brooklyn560 no she's right. Vegetables have a different flavor in America than they do in India. American ones taste almost bland to me. I don't understand how that is.
interesting
@@dikshaml5507 well, its because there is more spices, my family is from india, and i agree
@@dikshaml5507 I grew up in Italy and the produce there was SO GOOD, but here melons are bland, apples are bland, every item of produce tends to be bland. As far as I can tell it is because in the US the focus is to crossbreed and grow produce to be big and look nice, and they are often grown even during times of the year when they wouldn't grow naturally. In other countries plants are cross-bred and grown with a greater focus on flavor than appearance. The best way to get tasty produce in the US is to go to local farmer's markets!
how is no one talking abt "we got the GRASS PEED SOIL" at 9:52 lolol
Wow, it's almost like... vegan food isn't that hard. Yeah, traveling requires more planning, but even then, you figure it out pretty quickly.
Ellie Z. The only problem for me would be social and family life. And the fact that there aren’t many vegan alternatives where I live.
Too many folks associate brussel spots with boiled, bland, grassy flavors. You can roast em, air fry or deep fry them. It is all about seasonings and toppings and now my s/o (who didn't grow up with veg) can't get enough of them.
Ya'll, please don't tell me that Jeff used active baking yeast in his pasta instead of nutritional yeast 😂😂🤦🏼♀️
"I finished my soba noodles"
*made Italian fusilli noodles* 🤔 LMFAO
The dude put a lot more effort into this tbh
One thing to try if you hate veggies is chop them up smaller so they are more incorporated with the other food you like rather than just a full bite of veggies. Season them and dont overcook them.
