I read an interview with Myles Kennedy, whose voice I love, talking about his voice teacher, the legendary Ron Anderson. Ron's ear is so good that he told Myles he liked the new Alterbridge album but there was jaw tension in his singing. That's amazing for two reasons: Ron's ability to hear it and knowing even a singer as great as Myles still has to work on and keep up with his technique.
Thank you for sharing, Denis! 👍 The longer you train your voice and teach others the more things you start to hear. You don't really need to see what's going on and most of the things you can't see anyways because it happens inside the throat. And yeah, you're never done learning and I think that's a beautiful thing. How boring would it be if you had nothing left to accomplish or learn?!

Sure! If you get the right teacher and are dedicated enough to put in the necessary regular practice while keeping an open mind and being patient. Then definitely yes! 😉🤘
Thanks for asking the question as I have seen incremental improvements from the small amount of practice I have done but I too was wondering at what point my potential is limited by my initial voice.
Someone's singing potential (assuming having healthy vocal cords) is mostly limited by one's habits, willpower and mind. Far less by the physiology. Of course there are certain factors that define alot of how you sound like and such, but there is alot you can do. It's mostly finding what works for your voice and practicing and training the good things until they become habits, getting rid of bad habits. A good coach can hear your bad habits and make your aware of them, then show you ways to make it better. Then you need to put in the consistent training and that's how you improve. 🙂

Can totally relate to the first three tips, especially the jaw one (that pressure was the hardest to deal with back in the day, oh man! A minute or two of it, and I'd be beat). Just never thought about the last two, but hey, I'll use them as well 👍😉 I don't coach, but a few weeks ago I had to teach my good friend to breathe properly during a song, he was surprised, hehe 😲😀 Thanks, man 👍😃 P. S. Also, maybe not essential, but from my experience - never drink alco right before a gig. I'm no alcoholic, but had a couple of embarrassing moments...
Thanks for sharing, Moonchild! 🤘 Yeah, alcohol can really mess you up. I usually don't drink before gigs and if I do I never drink more than a small beer. And always... Alot of water! 💧💧💧🥤👍
@@GCVocalCoaching I say about water what some Russians say (and I'm part-Russian 😉) : "ahhh, vital liquid!" ("zvivitel'naya vlaga"). Although don't drink tap water in Moscow... Great video man! I had a Problem when i started training and singing with less pushing, i noticed that i cannot hit the same high notes as usual (cause i used to push them) is that normal?
Hey Suleiman! Great question. It can definitely happen that, if you are used to squeeze or push out notes, when you work on changing your habits to gain more freedom you will not be able to hit the same high notes right away. Because your body is trained to do it in just that pushy way and not in the easier way. Changing those habits takes time and alot of repetition and good practice. If you put in the work you will be able to reach higher notes then ever before with more ease, provided you practice correctly. So this can be part of the process and is quiet common. 🙂
Idk why but when I sing the same song sometimes I find my voice good and sometimes I find it bad what should I do to keep my voice good? Also what's the best warmup for my voice?
Which song? Keeping a positive additude could help you with this and your mood might be a factor that makes it inconsistent. Try to maintain that positive feeling that I mention in my "How to find your own voice"-video. Give it a try and tell me if it helped.
By the way, about that jaw tension. I had atdditional trouble because... how do I put this... my jaws are unlevelled. The upper one is slightly more to the forward (or is it the lower jaw is slightly more to the rear). What would be your advice for such people? 🤔😉
