**2 MORE VOCAL TIPS THAT WORK INSTANTLY!:**
(I'm not a professional, but this is what works for me)
1. For Proper Placement...
Say the word "swung" & hold it on the "ng" sound; notice how the back of your tongue touches the roof of your mouth. While continuing to hold the note, take your tongue down from the top of your mouth. The process should sound like this: "swunnngAHHHHHH..." That buzzing-feeling in ur face is how it should feel while u sing. (It also helps to imagine that very same buzzing-feeling happening right above your upper lip/below your nose)
2. For Proper Breathing...
Just don't think about it...Throughout our lives, we naturally inhale the proper amount of breath b4 we speak. We don't sit there & think: "okay, I'm abt to say X amount of words, so I need to inhale for X amount of seconds." We just speak, & it all works out perfectly; it's our bodies instinct to take in the perfect amount of breath when we talk. So, why should it be any different when we sing?Vocal coaches stress the importance of breath-support a little too much sometimes. That could be VERY overwelming & stressful, especially to beginners. Just focus on your pitch & placement & you'll be set😊...it'll be 1less thing to worry abt
*DISCLAIMER: I'm not saying that I dissagree with Zane or that you should disguard her tips; this video just inspired me to give some of MY singing-advise to any1 in this comment section who wants to improve as a singer 😊...Zane, feel free to let me know your honest opinion of these tips*

95% of what I've learned with singing is purely through random practice and listening to other singers since I'm not that good at comprehending explanations, so even if you don't have an explanation on how to do something, if you practice enough, you'll eventually get it by feel I hope. you guys got this

It's pure style and doesn't go together with good technique .
It's just extra breathy , fake accents ,and muffled singing...
And it's been overused a lot lately in pop music it's like a plague lol .

I wish singers would embrace their natural voice and aspire to have good technique instead of trying to sound unique.
Ex: Ellie Goulding , Halsey, Astrid S, Lorde , Grace Canderwhall, Billie Eillish ,and so much more ...
How about Billie??? Not that I have anything against her, I love Billie
But trying to sound unique is a good thing... They have a different style, good for them. Some of their voices are really touching and to me that's the only thing that matters. An easier technique can still be heartfelt and have a powerful impact.

The 2 notes you played are the same, right ? Or maybe like the smallest diffrence or something.
But, if they are not the same I just wanna say to anyone that got afraid : you are not tone deaf because you can't hear the diffrence, I can't tell if one was higher than the other (I mean for me it's the exact same note played twice) and I still can find the key of a song by hear and sing on pitch (I know that because I hear it but also because my teachers always tell me I have good pitch and if I use a tuner when singing I see i'm on pitch).
If you can't hear the diffrence between 2 notes that are not the same at all you might be tone deaf yeah but i don't know anyone who has this problem.
Good video tho, I just want to make sure no one panic because they didn't hear a diffrence between those 2 notes.

Hi Zane, I really enjoy watching your videos, and I listened to your podcast after watching this video too. Your podcast was pretty motivational, and got me thinking, "am I doing this for them or am I doing this for me?" That really got me thinking a lot because I love drawing and art since I was a kid, but I've been feeling like I'm not passionate about it like I used to be anymore. I feel like it's mainly just to impress people more than it is for myself now or that it's an expectation of me. Also, I've been getting into singing for a few years now, and that's how I found your channel 🤗. For singing, I am thinking of uploading singing videos, but I'm really nervous about that 😅. And idk when I'll do it, but I will eventually. I also thought about it during your podcast, and I'm definitely passionate about singing because it let's me express myself, but I'm still afraid of putting myself out there too.
