"If you drink only water you can not live. But, If you drink only beer, you can live." - wise words from Christoph! Big thanks to all the people in Bavaria for making our trip special! We love all you guys who support the channel
Bavaria is the most Bavarian, but quite different from the rest of Germany. So no, it is not the "most German", even though a lot of stereotypes about Germany come from Bavaria.
The reason why Bavaria is the most German part for Americans is that back then Americas occupation zone was located in Bavaria so it's the view they brought home 😉✌🏼 In fact Bavaria is more like Austria 😊
i totally agree. the german-speaking regions of bavaria, western-austria and even italy (südtirol) share the same ethnicity. and that's it, what the gi's brought home and sold it as 'german'.. schuhplattler und weissbier - what a shame ;)
I thought this to be common knowledge Bavaria was not part of austria... it was part of the holy roman empire wich a lot of middle european country where and the entire space of todays germany too. Austria was part of bavaria! Thats why is called Österreich (from the german word Ostreich) The Fresinger Bishops were the first to own Austria.
Bavaria ist definitly the most German. The food, the culture.. just everything. Everyone who says bad things about Bavaria has never been there or is jealous. 😂
exactly. they are jealous. In former centuries there were similar cultures like in Bavaria all over Germany. The rest of Germany abolished it and now they are complaining that tourists only want to see the nice parts like Bavaria.
The reason why many americans think bavaria=germany is that bavaria was in the american zone after WW2. East germany was in the soviet zone and west/north germany in the british and french zone. So most of the american soldiers were in bavaria/baden württemberg
Only read the title, so going from that. Bavaria is literally such a different culture than Schleswig-Holstein (where I live). I don't identify with bavarian culture a single bit.
Bavarians think they are lucky that Bavaria is not typical for the rest of Germany. The rest of Germany thinks they are lucky because of the same reason :-) (said by a "Saupreißn" that always enjoyed staying 1 or 2 days in Bavaria and Austria when passing through for holidays in Italy :-)
Since the second part will be long af just let me say for the beginning: I just found your channel earlier and really enjoyed all the videos I've watched so far!!! Looking forward to more!!! :) What I wanna talk about: I don't want to repeat all that has been posted here in the comments already about how Bavaria isn't the "most German", but I agree with this - even though maybe in a somewhat different way than most others. I was born and grew up in Berlin, am now living in Rostock by the Baltic Sea, while my parents were Saxon and we got friends in almost all states of Germany, and I already have visited many different places in our beautiful country. So I think it's alright for me to say that, in my honest opinion: There isn't even "THE! MOST! GERMAN!" place around here at all! Bavaria sure is the most stereotypic and I'm always getting a bit sad (note: NOT mad) about how knowledge about other German areas which ALSO have a nice culture (and nature, btw) seems to get "blocked by" or "buried under" all the Bavaria-German cliché which sometimes seems to be the only thing foreigners are ever getting taught about Germany whatsoever... All that while the rest of Germany also really, really deserves to get acknowledged, too, as it often seems VERY underrated around the world. What about Harz mountains, our wonderful coastal areas, the Black Forest, Lüneburg Heath, the Spreewald (where you can go for a day trip from Berlin and be like "wait when did I leave the country?" in a good way) and so on...?? And that's only for nature! It's a pity you rarely ever see those places become a bigger topic thanks to "Bavaria is Germany, Germany is Bavaria" kind of stuff. Every German state has its own special culture, no matter where you go, you can always experience something entirely new - which in my opinion is beautiful and also very important!!! There are such huge differences within Germany, it's so interesting and amazing! Which is one of the reasons the "Bavaria is THE MOST GERMAN" is... quite a huge pet peeve of mine tbh. I mean, I don't hate it or whatever (I won't talk about Politics here, too many people do this already while it's not even the topic here...). I personally wouldn't want to live there for some reasons (I know enough people in Bavaria so I sorta can tell), but I always enjoyed my visits a lot!! Anyway... I could continue this forever but long story short, what things imo SHOULD be like (but sadly often aren't): 1. Foreigners should get rid of the idea that "Bavaria is the most German", simply because it's not. 2. EVERYONE should stop comparing the German states culturewise, meaning: Depending on who you ask, people living in any certain German state might say "to me personally THIS is the MOST GERMAN" while each of our cultures is far too special on its own. (I don't know how to phrase my thought on this best, I hope people will still get my point. Dx) If anything, one should say "THE MOST GERMAN IS THE FACT EACH STATE HAS ITS OWN CULTURE" (which is just natural considering how "Germany" was formed over centuries
Just found you guys today. It's fun to see germany from your perspective ; ) btw: your film crew has the thiiiickkkest german accent speaking english :' ). Love your content!
If you do some more travelling in Germany, you should definitely try to make it to Dresden in Saxony. The whole central town is full of old beautiful builings. It's just lovely having a walk through it on a sunny day. Greetings 😊
So I hope you get to understand this because I am not the best english writer. But I personally can't really identify myself with the bavarian culture. I think there are lots of differences in germany in relation to the culture. Some germans even call bavaria an own country. I think the culture of the black forest or the culture from the people living completely in the north (just to name 2) is really different and cool in it's own kind of way. And I also think that the real culture of every country shows in the casual life of the citiziens. Not only the traditional food/drinks or the traditional clothing presents the culture. This wasn't supposed to be that long, I'm sorry, I don't know if you're ever gonna read this lol. Nice video, keep it up✊
Bavaria is (in my opinion) the most beautiful state in Germany. We got a lot of culture and we´re very proud of this culture. And of course, the beer here in Bavaria is the best beer in the world :=) To all guys saying that bavaria is more like austria: You got no plan. We got some similarities (which are based on our similar history) but all in one, Bavaria is Germany and Austria is Austria. Just get it!
Germany is pretty diverse when it comes to cultural habits. There are various regions... maybe around 5... that are kind of similar but even those can be split up in many more
Omg I am from Germany and I watch Prosieben and I follow you for a long time now and I am so to my mum when I see this ,,OMG I KNOW HIM"❣ I am your biggest fan from Germany ❣❣
Come to Dortmund because there is the largest stadium in Europe.( It‘s in North Rhine-Westphalia) And not all Germans are like the Bavarians in North Rhine-Westphalia is everything different✨
Try saying that word Grundstücksverkehrsgenehmigungszuständigkeitsübertragungsverordnung in english it is Landsertransmission Authority Transfer Regulation
Hi Conner, love you're videos so much. There is no "Most German" areas in my opinion. Because the were never in history only one german "tribe". You have to learn/understand the complex german history. It goes back more than 2,000 years. Here comes a very quick and rough leason. First there were different tribes later kingdoms - bavaria, prussia, saxonia etc. first we were connected because we were neighbors and spoke (mostly) the same language, later also thru the wars the fought with and against us. The spirit of the modern german nation was (re)born by on the Battlegrounds of the "Battle of the Nations" in Leipzig/Saxonia in the year 1813 againt Napoleon Bonapartes (you can compare it a littlebit with the Battle of Gettysburg in the civil war for the us americans) and the german-french war of 1870/1871 it ends with the declaration of one german Kaiser for all german kingdoms. You see it very, very complex you need really travel more around Germany and explore more of my homeland - you will be surprised. ;)
Hey, i realy enjoy your videos. Its cool to see that you like it in Bavaria. I‘m living in Bavaria since i was Born and its interesting how americans or „not german“ people enjoy their time down here. Your Videos are high quality i think and its fun to whatch them und follow your journey through germany🙈 Stay as you are und stay natural🙈🎉 Go on!👍🏻💪🏻

I actually enjoy your (and of course Silas's) videos much more than the ProSieben stuff, but I still have to give ProSieben props for giving you this opportunities.

No not the other way round. Bavaria was part of Austria bevore germany even existet.
That's what I always say, Bavaria has more in common with Austria than it has with the rest of Germany
I thought this to be common knowledge
Bavaria was not part of austria... it was part of the holy roman empire wich a lot of middle european country where and the entire space of todays germany too.

the most stereotypical part yes
^this, the most stereotypical part yes, but Bavaria the most german? nope. you experienced only a small percentage of german diversity.
Nicht Proseiben sondern Pro7 (ProSieben) :D
benni99heise😄👍

Hahaha lol stimmt
The most stereotypical? Yes. The most German? Probably not.

Ja? Welche denn?

Bayern. Was die da sprechen ist definitiv nicht hochdeutsch.

Ach nun sind wir von "Regionen" auf Straßen in Großstädten gekommen. Na dann ;)
Nice to finally see you down south exploring my home area! Just beautiful.
