Hello Conner. It is not on your feet. It's the material of the shoes. As an American, I know you prefer NIKE. But try a few good Adidas. Not too cheap. I also had the problem earlier. The only sports shoes I've ever helped with were adidas. Lg Joschi
Celina K On the other hand, these machines have absolute cult status in Germany...but please, follow this advice or you'll get some serious health issues! lol!
6:38 You are absolutely right, and there is a reason for that: 1. Most older folks were not taught English in school. 2. Most older folks were alive when Germany was bombed and then occupied by American forces, if you know what I am saying. ;-) 3. Trump is giving y´all a reeeeally bad rep. That´s why I´m so glad that you guys are so pleasant and outgoing. You are not just learning about this country, but at the same time representing your own country. Don´t let the grumpy old folks discourage you. There are also really nice ones, like the one in this video that was obviously a fan of Cali.
What blows my mind the most is the sights you experience for the first time and your reaction is "wow", while it is so damn common to me. I guess you have to remember to be grateful to what you have sometimes.
I think most people are friendly to you, if you are friendly to them. That's the reason you meet so many nice people. It's because you are a very positiv and friendly person. Older person often don't speak english that good, so they don't realize how friendly you are.
Sky looks also more blue or darker Blue in some parts (i made a roadtrip a few years ago from San Fransicso to LA and Las Vegas there you see that extremely. In New York the sky is more like in Germany.
You guys should go to Rauischholzhausen. That's about 10 miles east of Marburg. This little village has a beautiful fairytale castle, surrounded by a beautiful park with ponds and fountains. A number of people do their wedding pictures there, because it's really like in a Disney movie.
Pit S. And if you're in Rauischolzhausen you should also check out Amöneburg! It's a very old city on top of an old volcano. I work there and the view from up there is amazing!
10:22 That's the "Alte Universität", old university. It's usually open, you can go inside and it's really nice in there. There is a library for theology inside so you have to keep quiet. But you should check it out! Also there is a church right next to it that is beautiful.
I don't regularly watch UA-cam, but you and Connor make so funny and at the same time interesting videos. Being German and watching your videos give me such a new and interesting view on my home country. I start to get more likely to stop at things I normally walk past by because you find these things so new and interesting. It's nice to get a different view and opinion on things that I'm normally used to! Thanks for that! Keep going and if you're playing a game in North Germany I'll definitely come!
Hey Silas. Marburg is my hometown. It's super interesting to see it through the eyes of a foreigner. You guys are so entertaining. Thanks for the hard work you put into each video. God bless
Started following your channel after I saw the inspirational video posted by your friend. Some of family is from Germany, never met them and I’m loving seen your videos about German life, football and your adventures. Tell your friend to use baking soda in his shoes at night to absorb the moisture from his shoes. Also put some in the socks
Private doors open usually inwards and public used doors by law outward. Image a emergency case like fire with many people rushing to the door - so the door has to open outwards to not hinder the exit.
I never knew Marburg had an American Football Team. It‘s so funny to me right now because i found your Video by accident. I grew up close to Marburg (i moved away 4 years ago), and it‘s funny to see all the familiar places. It is a really rare and unexpected City to see in youtube videos (because it‘s smaller and not that well known). I hope you have a nice time in germany 😁
9:02: „Miet mich“ just means “rent me”. I really like your vlogs, because you also show us Germans parts of Germany where we never have been. Great work and thanks for being here!
As a german it is amazing to see how hyped you guys are when you see churches, castles and Fachwerkhäuser. Things we germans just take for granted and don't recognize any more. We should appreciate that a lot more. These videos are eye openers (is that even a phrase?) :D
If you enter a building you pull, if you leave a building you push. This rule applies for most of this kind of doors. I think it`s for safety, so you can easy leave the building by pushing the door in case of fire or something like that. Kind of funny how everything (might it be as small as that) is regulated in Germany :D
About the door thing: In Germany doors of public places usually swing open to the outside. So if you are leaving a public building, you almost always have to push. The reason behind that is, that in a case of a fire and a panic you won't get pressed against the doors with no way to pull them open.
Connor should try spraying lysol into his shoes. Also always wear socks with shoes and change regularly, also rotate shoes to dry them out. Also, try soaking feet in bucket with like a lipton teabag (tannic acid)
You guys should go see a bit of northern Germany as well. Especially at the "Ostsee" there are really beautiful cities like Lübeck which are totally different from cities in Bavaria. And if you stay in Bavaria you gotta see Bamberg and Würzburg. Also Coburg (which has a really big castle).
You have to go to quite an age for west germans for that. It's different for east Germany. But even there it's above 20 by now. Depends wether "older" means 40+ or 50+ or 60+. I learned russian, never used it, forgot (almost) all of it. Use english a lot though.

Silas, love your videos, and Conner’s. I was born in Germany but grew up in the States. Would be really interested to hear your comments on restaurant culture in Germany vs US. Like the fact that Germany has pretty much no national chain family restaurants like Chili’s, TGI Friday’s, Outback, Ruby Tuesday, Applebee’s, etc.
Please go to Europa Park Rust (officially the best theme park worldwide), Phantasialand (great theme park), Therme Erding (it has a lot of waterslides), Tropical Islands, the Zugspitze (highest mountain in Germany) and the Alps (in summer and winter, maybe to ski if you can) and eat a Germknödel (in the Alps or make it yourself) and Pfannkuchen (german pancakes) with Nutella or strawberry jam (film yourself while cooking, could be fun)! :D Compare it to America/similar american things and say which one do you like better (e.g. some park in Germany or/compared to a specific park in America)! Would love to see that, would be fun! :D Please do it (with Conner)! :D
RIP #86, my shoes, and Silas' bank account

I don't think older German people are more unfriendly but most of them don't speak English as well as younger Germans so they are just more reserved.

Doors in Germany Mostly you have to push to get out because of fire so you get out quicker
"Fluchtwegtüren" -Emergency Exits always have to be pushed, especially the ones with the green emergency sign

Aren't they the same? Haha. It's hilarious 😂😂❤✌
Janine Richter In America for example Los Angeles there are not so thick clouds rather a clear blue sky because it is always warm.
Sanvers Danvers okay thanks for explaining. I've never been to America. So I have no idea how the sky looks like. 😂🙈 I wanna go to America so bad.

I used to live in Marburg for nine years and this makes me really homesick. Enjoy your stay
Funniest part was "speaking like Pickel"😂😂
So plzz someone explain to me how clouds are in America? xD
Chemtrails bro
xD
They got way more chemtrails over there, and so a lot of folks think that clouds look like fog in the sky.
mila andi it's HAARP or Chemtrail... Naturally Thermals are stoped from Boarder Patrol... So I keep enjoy my 15m/s Thermals in Germany
What clouds?
They come shaped like a funnel. I've seen it on the Discovery Channel.
watching your vlogs just makes my day after i come home from uni, you guys are so funny lol
I love your videos!! It's exciting to see my homecountry with the eyes of someone else
Love your videos. Its nice to see your editing skills getting better and better in every video
American enthusiasm for things, we take for granted. You made me look at my my own country a little different now. Thx a lot for that.
Nice and funny video! I think I will visit Marburg because of your great videos about that city! ^^
The clouds exactly!! I was blown away when I saw the German sky and clouds for the first time.

Poor pickle (pickel?) ... he wants a key and privacy and you make fun of him
Pickle = Gurke, Pickel = Pimple
Lmao the first minute and a half and i already laughed out loud like 5 times. Quality man!
Pretty funny to see that as a German in the US. Greetings from Albuquerque.

The older people can't really speak english because the schools in germany didn't learn the kid's english like today.
HORIBE du scheinbar auch nicht oder?😂
Der mit Abstand beste Kommentar 😂

Many people don't really use the english they learn at school. And older people had simply more time to forget it.
AnDay5zlebt or never learned it.

Silas, please make Conner go to a barber shop and say "was immer du willst, hauptsache kurz". That video is still my favorite of yours 😂
As a general rule: doors in germany open up in the way youre going in an emergeny to exit the building
Nice Vid
I was literally crying because of that angel joke...😂
