We adopted a 5 mo Rottweiler puppy, not housebroken. She WILL NOT pee or poop at the end of her leash no matter how long we walk. Also, when I take her outside first thing in the morning or later, after her nap---I have never caught her relieving herself. What can I do to potty train her? At the moment she's having less accidents in the house because I've been anticipating.
I haven’t even got my puppy yet, waiting for the litter to be born but have watched everyone of these videos and they are so informative and I already feel les overwhelmed as all puppy training classes and socialisation have been cancelled in my area due to COVID!
@@blackdragongamerytonamazon3696 Yes I am fully aware that they cannot take pup home until at least 8 weeks, I have done all my research, I just meant that I have found my breeder and waiting for when they are next due a litter which is way later in the year due to when mom is due to season

I love this! Thanks for showing healthy play with dog on dog corrections. It's surprising how few owner know what's play, what's fighting, what's too far and how to read the build up.
It's always surreal watching Kona. We started watching the series before we got our goldendoodle puppy, and now our Silvester is the same age as Kona (in the series) and they look EXACTLY the same!
Awesome job! With proper early training, you can teach a dog almost anything. They want to please us. Our dogs have learned how to carry in groceries, put laundry in the washer and put trash in the trash can. Early training is so important! Great job, Zak!
The preview that had the rundown of whats on the video made me stick around to watch. It had many main topics and some I forgot about. Keep up the good quality video
Zak, I came into the care of a 11 week old american staffordshire terrior / german shepherd mix in November 2020. Your videos, both your books, and the Pupford Perfect Pup course have been A LIFESAVER. I had only been exposed to dog training that emphasizes ‘domination’ techniques, and your emphasis on communication and connection has been game-changing. I have been training her daily since, and am so excited to continue to build my relationship and communication with her. THANK YOU!
I have an 8-week-old German Shepard Dog (actual name of the breed for those who don't know...including the dog part). He's sitting and coming after 1 day by following your videos. The treats help so much. I love your videos!!!
Love your videos! I’d love to see a video that talks about what to do with your puppy when you have to leave the house for work or other errands since not all of us have the privilege of being a dog trainer 😜
I agree. I know for sure I will have to leave the puppy alone for at least 4.5 hours at a time during the first couple weeks (and that's WITH me taking extended lunch breaks to come home to check on her), and then prob 9 hours at a time soon after that. I fully accept I'm coming home to accidents and a lonely dog. I want to make it as stress-free as possible, though.
Yes! Thank you, these are the kinds of training videos I want to see! Simple tricks to get them to do things are good, but real life scenarios like these are the best examples ❤
I’m seeing a lot of mistakes I made when I first walked my dog outside. It was a complete mess and an endless tug of war. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I got a puppy a month ago. I’ve been watching you and your dogs since you got Inertia. Find your videos really helpful, love how Kona is progressing 💕 easily achieved with a trainer like you 🤩
As much as I wish I had sent my dog to Brandon for training before bringing him home ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx1_veP7CApJK_GWy_TczaMciuG64PqJeU I am so grateful for this down-to-earth, practical guide. His training techniques and tips really work. Thank you as well for dedicating your life's work to rescue dogs, and to rescuing those of us who want the very best for our 4-legged family members.
Zak you are doing a fantastic job of training Kona👏👏❤️🐶 But I have to say she is one very smart dog, I am totally impressed with how she understands what you are saying to her!!! ❤️💖😘🐶 Just love watching your training videos❣️❤️😍
There is a lot of good information in these videos and Zak is good at training the average well behaved pet dog. I'm watching these videos to fill in with daily life between the competitional obedience, which requires more precision. :) There are so many things being taught to this puppy (jumping upon furniture and people) that I'm working hard on forbidding my puppy from doing though, haha! (not very convenient with big jumping dogs and kids falling around).
Such a sweet, sweet girl! Thank you for showing us how we can help our dogs adjust to living with humans in a way that is pleasant for both of us. I have really enjoyed connecting with my puppy but also working with my 7yr old golden doodle. I thought you couldn’t teach an old dog new tricks…? I feel more connected to my dogs when I am working with them like this. So beautiful.
We got our first Puppy ever ( Fem Std Poodle) she’s now 2.5yrs still a challenge training. We found , also validated by other Dog Owners, the smarter the Breed, seems the more stubborn they can be. But Jet is coming along fine, she loves snow (We live in Canada) and goes crazy in deep snow. Love your Video and will apply many of your tips. Thanks
I’m getting my puppy on the 1st of August and I am binge watching all of these videos! Although I will be putting her in training classes, I still want to teach her the basics for until the classes start. Hubby and I are so excited!!
I love your videos! We just rescued a four and a half month old dachshund mix. We have two senior (10+) rescues and they offer great social interaction, but they also want to be present during training times. Free treats, right? So, thank you for reinforcing the solo training vibe. Being from Pensacola, we visit N.O. often. Maybe we'll bump into you next time we bring the pack. Much love from our crew, Gumbo, Creole, and (newly rescued) Turducken.
Zak I really like all your videos, mentality and training methods. And your own personality too! Will definitely buy your books and keep following your content.
This was so useful! I’m getting a pup soon and was so confused on what I should do the entire day. This was so helpful along with 30 day perfect pup which I’ve signed up for. Thanks for all the help Zak 😁
Love Zak, the content, and production value. Got the app, bought the books for my new puppy adventure coming this fall. Suggestion: Add a number/chapter/parts early in the playlist titles. Because the thumbnails have so much going on visually (and they’re all so different), it makes it nearly impossible (at least for me) to figure out which video I played last when coming back days or even hours later.
We are picking up our first family pet, a standard poodle puppy, on Thursday. We’re so excited. He’s at “puppy boot camp” for a week before we get him. I’ve been watching your videos quite often. So much awesome info. Signed up for your 30 day class too!
Another great video! Loved that settle you taught her! Man, was I jealous. (I know they’re hybrid not purebred.) Thanks Zak (and Bree) for the awesome content! 💫
i love your videos. You are amazing and i love your bond with all your dogs. Its so cute how you reward Kona when she listens to you, however, i always feel bad when inertia doesnt get a few aswell as inertia is sooooo cute and obedient and deserves it too, even though Kona is the main focus. 😅🤣 Love your work, keeping doing what your doing
Two things... 1. I love your videos, book, and training methods. We bring our new pup home next month and until then, I am learning everything I can! 2. When you have Kona on the long lead in the park, do you have the leash secured to something or just loose? How long is that lead? Thank you!!
A mastiff I'm working with is having trouble with "take a bow". She went to a training school previously and learned all the basics down pat, but sense she's so good at "lay-down", I'm having some trouble teaching her "take a bow". I've been slowly working on just rewarding when she puts her head down, and adding prais when she moves a front paw in order to reach, but she wants to think "down" so easily. But we'll get there! -hopefully. Slow and steady wins the race.
I'd love to see a series where you work with fearful adult dogs who just freeze whenever you try to introduce them to anything new - those are mostly rescues. I foster a family of rescue puppies, and the mommy is so fearful that any trying to work on something miserably fails. She's afraid yo be pucked up, she's afraid to be outside, she's afrsid to go out of her room, you name it... she tends to be agressive too, exept towards me. Very challenging. I'd love to see you work on difficult dog like that. I love the format of your videos, it'd be nice to see a day to day work on a dog like the one I'm fostering now. If at all possible, in the future. I'm truly lost at this point..🥺🥺😧😧
Your videos are GREAT! Thank you! I'm thinking about getting a staffordshire bull terrier (english not mixed) so it would be amazing if you would someday train a staffy. I know the principals are the same but it would be great to see you interact with a staffy.
I’ve never been more excited and confused at the same time! My doggy birthed these cute puppies I don’t even know what to do with them. I can’t really keep them all so I’m looking for dog lovers that can take good care of them.🐾🐾🐾🐕🐕. Golden Retriever
Hi Zak, thanks for another great video! I'm following along on all of your projects and love the narrative you create - I just want to know what happens next! Just curious, what was Kona doing when you were getting ready in the morning?
I know you have a great connection with Pupford, and I love the size of the treats, but my dog is very picky. I was wondering if you have a pumpkin flavor because that is what my dog likes, and what I know is very good for them, but I haven’t seen them on the Pupford shop. I would love to see those on there!
My puppy will be fully vaccinated on Monday! I've been so worried I haven't been socializing him but with the pandemic and the number of strays in Los Angeles, I felt l couldn't take him on walks safely. Thankfully we will be in Colorado in a house with a yard and dog neighbors soon, hopefully, it goes well!
How do you teach your dog that "OK" means "you can stop what you're doing now"? I've seen you do this a lot, but wasn't sure how that was taught in the first place! :)
Any possible way you could do a video or a few about puppy/dog tips when you work 3rd shift? There isn't much useful enough out there for use off shifters. Thanks in advance.
Hi Zak! I’ve got a new pup and I was wondering what treat pouches you’d recommend? I’m having trouble decided which one to get and invest in. LOVE THE KONA SERIES! ❤️❤️
Loved this day in the life of a puppy. It is really an all day affair. For the potty training etc. How long should working people allow a kennel trained dog to be along in the house? If ever?
This is great for someone that doesn't work or do this for a living. Put a video for normal working people they would like to train their beloved pet also.
Well, working people have a right to own a pet. Some are better owners than the ones at home all day doing nothing. All I'm saying is that there should be a way the working class can train their pet. I don't need your sarcasm or ignorance. You can choose.
@@maritzavelez7910 I wasn’t being ignorant at all, just stating the obvious. I am working 40 hours a week as well and only just got a puppy as I’m in the home office until September. Young dogs are so much work and require constant attention. In my, non-ignorant and non-sarcastic opinion, you should only get a puppy if you have loads of time. Otherwise, of course you can still get a dog, but maybe one that’s already been trained and is used to coming to the office with you etc
@ZakGeorge thank you for all of your videos! I'm hoping to get a standard dachshund sometime this year, and I'm wondering in your experience if in general female or male puppies are easier to train etc. Thank you very much!

Just tell them ok when theyre done doing what you asked
Say ok along with a motion that will tell them that they can stand up and come to you, something encouraging that barely needs to be touaght
Any possible way you could do a video or a few about puppy/dog tips when you work 3rd shift? There isn't much useful enough out there for use off shifters. Thanks in advance.
I love your videos 🤟! I want to get a puppy but I am trying to find a good Golden retriever breeder. I am thinking of looking at huskies as well
If ever?
hello Caroline how are you doing today??
Thanks so much for this!!
My parents said yes to a puppy!
This is great for someone that doesn't work or do this for a living. Put a video for normal working people they would like to train their beloved pet also.
Well, if you have to work 8 hours a day and can’t take time off - don’t get a dog
Zak: there’s number 2 (💩) Me Thinking: I don’t need to know that.
OMG Im so excited
Hii I love your videos
I would die for Indi. She's such a sweetie.
What type of dog harness and collar do you use and recommend - I absolutely enjoy the videos - job well done - respect training
The ruffwear harness is pretty good
"and I like that you're old and beautiful" exactly what I do when training my 5.5 month old with my 12 year old also named Indy 😭
Great video Zak! I have a 7 month old vizsla that is basically a tornado. Do you have a video on how to teach him to be calm indoors?
Great video!
