She is very talented, But she is married to Hannes who's not only a looker himself but also a talented drummer and seems to be an amazing father and husband to Floor. Together they have 2 daughters (Freja & Lucy) Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 3 octaves (C3 to F6). Re-singing style ranges from opera to screams and grunts. She usually sings in English, in addition she has also sung songs in Dutch, German, Spanish, Finnish, Latin, Italian and Swedish. Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg with classmates Jacqueline Govaert and Danny Vera, where she graduated in 2003. She needed no introduction…note the huge roar of applause she got when she walked out onstage, before she’d even sung a note. Floor was a full fledged rock star long before she joined Nightwish…she was well known to (especially European) fans already.

Anyway, while Floor was an established name to a lot of rock fans in Europe, she still had to prove a lot to this gigantic audience who literally saw her for the first time with their favourite band (apart from a relatively small group of fans that already attended one or two gigs in Finland). 😊

Let’s dig into this, Tuomas writes from observation and experiences. You know he has some well used pseudonyms for himself in lyrics with references thereto, so when you have boy, poet, dreamer, writer/song writer or ocean soul in a lyric, it is Tuomas referencing himself. The dark chest did and maybe does still exist, Tuomas as a small child found it in his grand parents attic full of toys and story books that carried his imagination off in excitement to all manner of wondrous places. Therefore throughout this song Floor sings "of the one” in a very high head voice, just as you might expect from an excited small child, that being Tuomas himself. Now look at the lyrics again and it all makes sense, Tuomas never includes notes or lyrics that are "fillers" or embellishment, it is all there for a very good reason, sometimes almost impenetrable or ambiguous. The problem is, English isn't a phonetic language, so whatever you put in English will have at least half a dozen different pronunciations. It's /ˈvakn̩/ which I would probably spell "Vak'n", but that still doesn't tell you how to say the 'a' if you don't read IPA. Anyway, definitely V sound.

That Vacken concert!..... sounds a bit rude but it was really wild! A great time was had by all! Marko on bass also had a lot of input into the sound production for this.
In the credits for the DVD, you should see that Marko has the post production credit for sound editing. I heard him say in an older interview he is a trained sound engineer along with his many other talents.
