Nightwish does it all, they can play the hard stuff like nobody's business, they can go softer almost bring you tears, and take you on any kind of journey they want. Every song is a new story and journey just sit back, listen and they will take you away. Floor is just the GOAT, you can't even imagine her versatilty vocally. She can and does growl, like a demon, and can go from that to sounding like an angel in the same vocal line.
There is only ONE and she is... FLOOR!!!
I like to say that "Storytime" is my favourite Nightwish song - except for all their other songs. Floor took over as a replacement singer during a world tour so this was the first opportunity for most European fans to see her in Nightwish - although most were familiar with her work in previous bands. The whole Wacken 2013 setlist was something special. You owe it to yourselves to check it out - and then you will find it very hard to resist their other concerts!

Hello from 🇫🇮. I didn't like them to much in the 90's but they got me a few years ago. It's Floors fault.ok nemo and sleeping sun with tarja I always loved but Floor just restarted the whole thing.Here in 🇫🇮 we call it our band but we know it's to big for just us. So I guess our band doesn't mean just Finland. It's just to good to keep it to ourselves. They seem to have the best fanbase. Old people,young people,every kind of people from everywhere.Everybody loves the magic of Mr. Holopainen.
I listen to Nightwish and Dimash everytime I walk the dog..
The great thing about Nightwish is they are like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get. I believe they literally have a song for every type of music lover.

Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 4 octaves (Eb2 to F6).
She can sing from classical to belting and raspy vocals like screaming and death growls.
Floor has 3 distinct styles of head banging:
Head banging(straight forward, then back), hair whip(almost like cracking a bull whip) and the Windmill(continuous 360 degree revolutions). Why Windmill? Well she is Dutch.
Awesome tune , although it is kind of a pop/rockish sound (originally sung by Anette, the second singer of Nightwish), but Floor gave it soooo much POWER !!! Including this "Operatic" part, what was originally done by children's choir because vocal limitations on their second singer (Great singer also, I might add), but Floor has none of that "Limit".
Nightwish lyrics are often a bit interpretive, and not as "straight forward" as many other bands, because Tuomas ( The Metal Mozart Tuomas Holopainen: founder, leader, keyboardist, songwriter and the main composer for Nightwish.) prefers people to put their own interpretations and life experiences into the lyrics. you connect with songs on a personal level when there is something there that relates to things you have gone/are going through, and you may even find new connections later on in life when you have gone through other big events/emotions. there might be songs you are quite indifferent about (oh, nice song) and then you go through something big and all of a sudden it makes you break down in tears because now you relate to something in the lyrics you didn't before, and see it from a whole new perspective. imagination and life experiences are powerful, and Tuomas has great appreciation of this.

New album is done and will be out sometime late this year UNFORTUNATELY they will not tour it for at least 2/3 yrs, absolutely sucks ......but when they do tour make sure you see them , these live videos are fun but seeing them is just an experience you wont forget .

This ENTIRE live performance is EPIC! Definitely worth watching it in its entirety.
Song is from the 2011 Imaginaerum album, 2nd lead singer Anette Olzon era. The operatic part at the end was done solely with the choir in the studio version. Anette has more of a pop/rock style, operatics aren't in her wheelhouse. Floor can do them, so she did. All 15 songs here at Wacken, were recorded with one of the first 2 singers, she added her touches and made them her own. Tuomas (keyboards/primary songwriter) likes themes of stories and childhood innocence, and is a Disney and Hans Zimmer fan. As you see, this is different from the first song you did, they are all different, you'll get something new every time you listen to them.
Next? Recommend "Romanticide" and "Everdream" from this same concert.🤘🤘

Take this to the bank. There is no other metal band with as much "listenable" songs as Nightwish. All the musicians contribute to the success of the composition and there are no "check my solo" prima donnas. Enjoyed your reactions 😇😇😇
Travel sums it up pretty well. Storytime is part of the concept album / film music Imaginaerum. In the scene to the music, the main character flies on a snowman into his own fantasy world. The content is about the main character as a composer ruthlessly placing his music above his surroundings. Hence the allusion to Peter Pan.
Seeing it live won't work for now, there won't be a tour for the next album. They still get along pretty well today, but back then the situation was special. 10 months earlier, Nightwish was on the verge of falling apart and would have preferred to cancel the tour. Back then, Floor had saved the band (and herself from burnout).
Floor's name is derived from the Roman Goddess of Spring, Flora.
She is our beloved Valkyrie Goddess of Metal and Empathy 🤩 😍 ❤
They were the first Finnish band to headline at Wembley Arena. 😊😊
The operatic "innocence" section after the drum break is simply one of the most exciting moments in the entire history of the performing arts...To me, this particular moment of the concert seems to highlight the other band members' joy at hearing just how fully they can realize these songs with Floor as the vocalist...I think especially for Tuomas as the songwriter...

Hi there. I first found them during lock-down. I was listening to a reaction to Disturbed doing sound of silence, and a reaction to "Ghost Love Score" came on next, and I let it play. From there I was hooked! I was lucky enough to see them live at Wembley Arena in 2022 with my 18 year old daughter. They were brillliant! They sadly won't be touring for a while, but when they do come back, I'll definitely be there again with my daughter. Thanks for a great reaction, and I hope you do more of this great band. I definitely do recommend seeing them live! It's an experience not to be missed. I saw them at Wembley in December 2022, and it's one of the best gigs I've ever been to! Unfortunately, they aren't touring for a couple of years even though they are due to release a new album this spring, I believe. Stay safe 🤘 ✌️

Yep, chills goosebumps, misty eyes and tears are all Floorgasms. They are dropping a new album sometime this year. Not sure if they will go on tour this year to promote it though. Floor had her second child around 5 or 6 months ago so touring might be out of the picture this year. She did tour with her first baby though. I think Freja was under a year old then. Floor is married to Hannes Van Dahl, drummer for the band SABATON. They live on a small farm in Sweden. So now you are reacting to my 2 favorite bands, The Warning and Nightwish. Super!!

Hello again, guys. Fantastic reaction to our beloved Nightwish with the amazing Floor Jansen on lead vocals. Loved every second of it. And thank you for continuing down our Nightwish rabbit hole.
Great reaction! This song is from the Imaginaerum album that this tour is in support of. A concept album about a composer on his death bed reminiscing about his youth. Album was recorded with their second singer, Anette Olzon, who Floor replaced mid tour about 10 months before this concert. The band also wrote and filmed a movie of the same name to go along with the album. The movie can be found on YT.
Song is inspired by the 1982 Christmas animated movie The Snowman, which as your are British you may be familiar with. The movie is also very popular in Finland. The idea for the music of "Storytime" was born when Tuomas wondered why no-one had made a remake of the film, and wondered what his version of the score to the scene in which "Walking in the Air" plays would sound like. Storytime is his answer to that question. To quote Tuomas,
"How would it feel to take a midnight flight with a snowman through the most wondrous landscapes, like in the classic animated Yuletide film? The meaning of our very existence is created though stories, tales and imagination. They are at the very core of humanity."
One of Tuomas's favorite themes for his music is the idea of the loss of imagination and wonder as we grow from childhood to adulthood. When you here the words dead boy in a song he is referring to himself and his loss of that childlike imagination.
The lyrics references several classical pieces of fiction including the character of Peter Pan and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland as well as the mythical Gaia who is the spiritual embodiment of Earth and thus life.

BTW - Nightwish usually performs at Wembley arena in London, as well Birmingham, and Glasgow when they tour. There is some amazing live performances from Wembley 2015.

If that doesn't perk you up, nothing will! One of the boppiest Nightwish songs, it always gets me moving. Sadly NW are taking a break from touring - I got to see them at Wembley in 2022, after a loooong wait due to covid. My wife, who had mostly come along to keep me company, said when they finished "I have _GOT_ to see them again!" - but it looks like we'll all have to wait until at least 2026 (when I hope they do an anniversary tour, but we'll have to see). Keep following the list for now...

Pour la deuxième fois vous venez de faire connaissance du métal symphonique et de notre reine Floor, mais vous n'avez qu'effleuré le dessus de l'iceberg et vous n'êtes qu'a l'entrée du terrier de lapin. Je vous souhaite de bons floorgasmes et continuez vos réactions nous serons toujours derrière vous pour vous soutenir pour notre groupe...... Encore plus d'écoutes s'il vous plait...... Merci. Continuez sur le festival du Wacken Open Air 2013, vous êtes sur de ne pas vous tromper, les quinze chansons du set sont des classiques pour tous les fans du groupe et sont à écouter absolument. Cette chanson est la 6ème sur les 15 du set complet, et vous avez déjà écoutez la 11 ème , ensuite toujours dans le même concert, faites le Ever Dream qui commence comme une douce ballade voix piano et sur un signe de Marko ( le bassiste ) continue d'accélérer pour finir comme un train à grande vitesse, puis essayez du plus lourd avec Ghost River pour entendre le surprenant mélange des voix de Floor avec Marko ou encore plus lourd avec Romanticide..... Et je pense que notre ami Gabriel Bardac devait arriver sous peu, ou retounez sur votre première réaction au groupe ( Un grand MERCI à Gabriel d'avoir repris le flambeau de notre regrettée Anne ) cliquez sur son nom et allez sur communauté, vous pourrez suivre sa liste en toute confiance avec les meilleurs mixages à la bonne vitesse et avec le meilleur audio mais ce n'est pas une obligation, juste un sage conseil pour entendre une petite partie du meilleur du groupe. Great reaction. 🙂 Floor is an enchantress - she draws you in, enthralls and seduces you. The whole band is incredible .... they make me grin like a maniac one minute, then bring tears to my eyes the next. Tuomas is a genius of epic proportions, and in Floor (along with the rest of the band) he has the perfect tool to manifest his vision and present something truly extraordinary. Floor is a transcendent talent and the band are all masterful musicians. A synergistic glory that is completely and utterly ineffable. Together, they have a way of touching your soul. Music is the sound of emotions... Toumas understands this, Floor and Nightwish personify this - perfectly!! Enjoy the Nightwish journey, as a new subscriber, I will watch on with interest. As a fellow Brit (down in Somerset) may I add a suggestion or two? Basically, react to every song from this amazing Wacken show, then fo the same for the Wembley 2015, Tampere 2016, Buenos Aires 2018, Hellfest 2022 and Diechbrand 2022 shows. Then throw in some other live bits and pieces, such as their cover of Pink Floyd's High Hopes from 2005, and then take a look at their fantastic music videos, such as Noise from 2021. This is all amazing and should keep us all happy for quite a while 🤘🤘🤘

Yeah... nah. Epica doesn't have the same magic and/or emotion in their music than what Nightwish does, not even close. No band comes close to be honest.
