I've had fairly good success welding ABS plastic back together with acetone, if it's only a crack or two. If it's shattered into little pieces, I've used Bondo with fair results, but it's not as strong as the original plastic unless you can reinforce it with some wire mesh inside (not always possible as it makes things thicker than they ought to be).
Nice, I like it. I bet the bondo would work. This was just a really quick test to see what would happen. I'll try harder in a future video to fix the case better. Right now I'm busy thinking about CocoDV and a new FPGA that I've working with and the other video that I mentioned which is in edit right now.
Yes, now that I've melted it down some, the sanding should make it flat. Add a little bit of something to fill the pits, and then paint, shoud be good then. Thanks!
LOL, my CoCo 1 had the same bump. If I remember correctly, not all the case screws were the same length so if you mixed them up, that would happen even if you didn't over tighten them.
You are probably onto something there. Maybe super glue and baking soda would fill the pits as well. Especially since it can be painted afterwards, there may be a couple of ways to get good results.
@@acs8-bitzone651 I forgot about the super glue baking soda trick! I tried it myself once but it was really messy, and didn't sand well, although I've seen some other retro UA-camrs use it with impressive results.

Little sanding and paint 😎👌

@@acs8-bitzone651 back in the day they used to say Mercedes grey was the right shade, never tried it though.
I actually painted my silver case white.

Hey AC, I've never done it myself but did you consider using Bondo? That might work.
