Thanks for the video . I wonder if this board could work with a Dragon 32, as they are quite similar. How do we could find the board ???. Thanks 😄

Dragon32 already does composite out through the DIN plug, just need a cable. The best thing I did to improve the picture on my Dragon was to install the replacement PSU from DragonPlus Electronics.

True. And this composite mod should also work in there. Which makes me curious... Would they look the same? I don't have the Dragon 32 to check. It was on loan.

Is there anything that can be built on the outside of the machine that could plug in the composite video and convert it to RCA or HDMI?

You can absolutely buy a composite to HDMI converter module, but bear in mind that it will transfer all the imperfections straight into the HDMI. That is why I designed the CocoDV upgrade chip so that we can go straight digital video all the way, with no analog in the video path. Here is one of the videos about CocoDV: ua-cam.com/video/gc_3TPBjFf4/v-deo.html

1:45 compared to 16:45 sure does look like an improvement.

The changes are very subtle for sure. When the RF modulator goes bad however, it's a real trick to have this.

Will these boards be available from you?

My preference is to sell a kit of parts that a person could solder themselves. Check in the video at 17:10 and I mention there how to email me.

I'm an Atari guy. Are those jail bars normal? They look horrible to me.

In my next episode coming out in a couple days, I found out the jail bars are from that TV. I tried a second TV and the bars are either minimal or gone. The composite board would not likely create them as it is mostly a buffer and mixer. As long as it doesn't create ringing which I would be surprised if it could. My guess is that the bars are a function of the signal source in the CoCo and how the TV filters operate.
