Excited to try and replicate this. I've been really torn on what colour it's best to base coat them in, I did my Terminators with gold first, and then im working on a sorcerer where I started with blue. Also been torn on if to fully build my rubrics before painting them, so this guide is going to be a big help!

How did you finally decide to to base coat your Thousand sons in? I have some Thousand Sons I plan to paint soon. Looks like Blue may work better first, as it seems to be below the Gold in most areas, so afterwards it would be easier to paint the Gold without getting Blue on it. Just a thought so! Cheers.

@@flo1fication So I primed a two 5 man squads gold, and managed to finish one of them. It was pretty good, but I did go from Gold -> Blue -> Gold -> Blue quite a few times trying to make everything neat. I also painted them fully assembled so maybe that's why? It took a while but I was happy with how the squad came out all in all.
Doing blue first does seem easier yeah, but it'll make trying to shade/highlight all of the gold a bit more difficult, so I guess in the end it depends on which process you wanna spend more time on.

@@flo1fication I agree I think it makes more sense to do the blue first, then the gold trim, so you're not painting recessed detail after the gold--- I'm not convinced this tutorial, good as it is, is the quicker method

Amazing tutorial. Your T Sons look so good. I've always been curious how you've spent the amount of time you have on all your incredible armies and not employed a wet palette. I've found it really increased my speed as it limits how often you've got to go back to your paint pot.

Hello! Did you primed these black and put a gold layer on it or did you primed them gold directly?

Can you spray the gold on directly or do you need to prime white first?
