Those looks so amazing for the effort put in. You have definitely sold me on this paint scheme. Can’t wait to get my hands on the box. Brilliant tutorial as always, bring on the great devourer
🙂👍
Needed guidance with painting the wings of my Tyranids, very helpful thank you!!!!
Just wanted to come here and say I’ve been studying this video religiously and been testing out your techniques on some termagants before finally painting the Tyranid prime. I’m so happy with how it came out, you’ve done a brilliant job with this tutorial - thank you so much !
You really are such a talented painter, Luke!
Thank you👍🙂
I'm so glad you decided to do tutorials on your channel.. brilliant stuff. Keep them coming
Glad you like them!😊
Looks cool.
Thanks🙂
Looks great! Thanks for the tutorial, might have a go at this scheme :)
Its surprisingly easy👍🙂
Fantastic work mate 👏
Thanks James👍🙂
Blob😂 u just made me realize again, how much i love the speedpaints dropper bottles.
👍🙂
These are beautiful sculps. Looks Amazing! Great job!
Nice I'll be using this tutorial for my nids and probably adding a little bit extra to it. I really like the Guilliman flesh in the joints, looks way better than having it pink like how most tutorials do it. 👌
I just found my painting scheme for my leviathan tyranids, looking incredible!
Nailed it again. Thank you!
Will definitely be using this as I find the the GW Naggaroth paint doesn't cover well and lacks contrast pop.
These have been really excellent tutorial, and really glad you covered basing too
Can't wait for the army focus video for the new hive fleet Leviathan list
Thanks Jacob. Yes lots of interesting Army Development videos on the way🙂👍
Thank you ever so much for this tutorial! Been struggling on which paints to choose from.... 7?! Dayum!
Ive been using the old GW warrior scheme with the weird flesh-tone leviathan, so i might try go with the pure-white skin instead. all 5k of my nids scream for help
Absolutely stunning!
Thanks👍🙂
Love your painting tutorials, hope to see more in the future!
Thanks 👍🙂
Totally sold on contrast method now, thanks dude👍👍👍
Great content , as always !
Another great tutorial Luke, have you thought about trying contrast with Marines? I guess 'Nids work better with contrast.
Yes it could work. I've seen it done well for imperial fists🙂👍🤔
Fantastic tutorial 👍
Looks exceptional!
Very nicely done!
Thanks
that purple looks CRAZY GOOD. Hopefully you did a tutorial for the psychophage aswell!!!
Thanks. Psychophage already painted but just copy the same process seen the video for the same result🙂👍
I think I like your technique for leviathan more then the new tutorials on warhammer +. The only things I will maybe change is the eyes, because Leviathan is yellow but I like a toxic green more (same green I will use for the brains, tesserakt glow) and I think I will use Leviathan Purple because on big amory shyish looks almost black for me. Really thank you for your tutorials I really struggled with finding a good technique for leviathan.
Good glad the tutorials have been a help🙂👍
do you happen to have an example of what the Leviathan Purple ones look like? maybe just on a gaunt or something? Love your work brother, well done
hi chap, I find Leviathan purple pretty naff! it somehow makes the carapace look a bit cartoonish. I'm going with this all the way
You said 'two thin coats'. Don't you have to pay Duncan Rhodes something now?? 😂
Lol. Thought of him as I said it😂
Incredible job!!!! I’ve got the box set and following your tips…… will you be showing any of the other figures?????
I’d suggest putting up the paint you’re using on the screen. Helps a lot in tutorials for people that don’t want to watch from start to finish or having to rewatch, pause etc
I absolutely love this, how would you go about this contrast method with Hive Fleet Kraken?
Ooo not sure. But I'm sure it could be done🙂👍
How long did this take you? 2-3 hours on a big centerpiecemodel so what, 1h/1h30 on a gaunt? Awesome paint job btw.
I guess this model done in about an hour perhaps a bit less. 15mins for a gaunt something like that.🙂👍
Am, i going crazy, or is that laminated paper ur using for a contrast pallet
Yes lol...the back of our scoring sheet for 9th ed👍🙂🤣🤣
Thanks for selling me on a nids army!
What did you use to make the raised platform part of the base?
Rocks. I explain a lot more in the scremer killer tutorial👍🙂
I have had decent success with this method but my initial volopus pink shade is a lot colder than your reddish soft pink. Does using a wet palette affect that ?
Should not effect it. All depends on how much you thin it with medium:)
Are you not allowed to paint it in your own Tyranid faction's colours?
Yes but I want to start a second hive fleet and run to totally different style army🙂👍
Would quickly edge highlighting the pink with a bit of wraithbone before going over with the shyish give you a more popping finish? Or would it be a waste of time, do you think?#
You could try that. See how you get on. Even try a slightly thinned first coat of the shyish to increase the final pop of the edge highlight👍🙂
Can you do this in whitescar spray? is there much difference
Would probably get away with it ok👍🤔🙂
What contrast colours do i need if i want a green shell replie to this comment if you know
So is that a actual rock or a printed base the prime model is sat on?
Actual rock i talk about it in the video and show how it is done in the screamet killer tutorial live on the Channel 🙂👍
Wraith Bone (in my experience) is absolutely horrendous stuff. Clogs up the details on the miniature...
Ok. So far so good with me. 🙂🤔
great vid minus the 9 minute waffle at the start
Tried this on my Nids. Found that the purple didn’t come out right
I am having trouble with the pink/medium mix drying out, I'm doing termagaunts and I've been advised to not use a wet pallet for contrast paint coz its already quite runny, are you literally using laminated paper? This schemes wonderful
You could always get a separate mixing pot then use a dropper to mix medium / contrast into the correct ratio of your choosing (for example 5ml contrast, 10ml medium say) and then you have a whole pot of it ready to go - won't try out and quicker painting sessions
