As someone who lives nearby Jeep Speed Shop. I cannot wait till I can afford this swap. It really is a life altering change with Jeeps.
When a new 392 Wrangler is $80-$90k, it actually makes conversions more approachable. I have a 2018 JL and would probably rather spend the money on a conversion the way I wanted it than a new hemi JL.
Not to mention the 392 power numbers are held back from factory so a swap would actually run a whole lot better and can also feel the difference in the “seat test”
Dan at Dakota Customs has a solid kit ! I’ve been driving my 2008 with his 392 8speed kit since February! It is awesome! It’s super smooth and fast . I also upgraded my axle to the dynatrac serious performance kit with 4:88 and 35’s . And Bubba is right I only get about 13ish mpg ( 230 miles per tank)
How much did that cost?
@@SUPERTRUCKER1984Dakota Customs website has updated prices
as someone who owns a 3.8 2010 JK with a Ripp supercharger on 37s I can say this is an awesome setup and something I hope to be able to do in the future. Nice build
I have an '08 4dr JK Wrangler Sahara on 35's but waiting until my engine kicks the bucket. Just spent 8k on replacing everything underneath from Ring and Pinions to ball joints etc.
For now I can only dream of a V8 conversion.
Great build as usual and the canary yellow is rare for the JK 👍🇨🇦👍
Me and you both! 8k replacing everything underneath my ‘13 Sahara JK
210k on my engine and I can feel the end coming ! I’m all for the Hemi swap movement
No one buys a Jeep for mileage!.. Throwing bricks down the road since 1940!! 🤣
Thank you for my brother's jeep show UA-cam it's our yellow jeep is right here.
It was a fun one to build!
The 8 spd also bolts right in to the 3.6L JKs.
That think is a JK in looks only. Sweet build!
You can use the NAG 1, using that shifter is a limitation of the PCS technology
Glad you’re back!
Looks like the new shop is pretty amazing
Dakota Customs, what happen to AMW4x4?
Great to see you back on UA-cam.
I have a 2006 Jeep LJ with 67000 original 4.10 gears 35/12.50-15 and 6in short arm k&n coldair banks header and catback and I get 20-23 mpg and I drive 62 miles one way of Wv mountain to work a 4.0 will most definitely get good mpg
The biggest enemy is the block fan
Great Video!!! I would love to see someone take a 2006 LJ, add a Hemi, with 8-speed automatic transmission, Dynatrac PROROCK 80 high pinion for rear and Dynatrac PROROCK XD60, high pinion for the front, 74Weld bolt-on Jeep portals on all 4 corners to keep Jeep low as possible and corner like a sports car. Adams Driveshafts front and rear, 37-40 inch tires
Can you put 74Weld portals on the dynatrac 80, or any 80 for that matter?
Amen, we love our toys, daily drivers, what ever you need it to be.
The 8hp you do notice it shifting on any car you can feel up shifting on highway cruising specially after a pull like just merge into the traffic
north of 40k damn
Yea, that’s ridiculous
The 8 speed is great with the diesel in the JL as well… 100k warranty don’t hurt neither…. Me thinks the diesels will become sought after since they are toast now… 26-30 mpg….
Welcome back Bubba!
Haven't they got they Chevy conversions dialed in enough to make sense. My friend's Motech LS JK gets high teens. They also have an executive order making them smog compliant.
Stay tuned😉
Welcome back!
Can you use Dana 44s for this conversion? Also with the 5.7 L instead of the 6.4?
if you want to run 33s u can you use dana 44s
40k to do the swap is soo soooo over priced. Im doing mine myself and its gonna cost me less than 5k total. Buying used low milage motor and trans and not using the full kit... just the wire harness and ecm.
Do you know off the top of your head what axle shafts come in a 2021 gladiator Sport S Eco diesel automatic, (rear) Length and spline count, Thanks
I find the exhaust sample so funny. He put a hemi in a car and gave it two tiddlywinks of throttle.
What’s a 0-60 time like given it’s not awd like the rubicon 392?
Thoughts on the new I-5 (hopefully it will be available as a crate offering soon) with an 8 speed behind it???
Can’t wait to do those, but nothing beats the sound of a V8
@@Exodus4x4 agreed on the sound, but the power to weight of the I-5 is VEEEEERY interesting ;-)
May be coming with a 10 or more speed trans.
The new GME-T6 3.0L is a straight-6 cylinder twin turbo.
Next is a cummins r2.8 swap
Any chance y’all are doing just the transmission swap from the stock jk to an 8spd?
Wouldn’t be cost effective. Would probably cost so much to work you’d be close a full Hemi swap.
@@Exodus4x4 damn! I’m gonna have to stop by when I am in new braunfels again. Take some swag home 👍
how do you guys pass a vehicle emissions test if you are in Texas ? because there's a smog and the vehicle testing every year I don't understand how you can do that if you're going to a bigger displacement engine ,it's going to have more missions than the 3.6, thanks
Every county here has it's own policy with emissions policy.
Do you finance? Also is there are market for the 40k 6 cylinder?
Can you put the 8 speed behind the 5.7? I plan on doing a 5.7 swap in my JKU (hopefully) next year and I was thinking to use the 5 speed. But if I can use the 8 that would be cooler.
Yep
Yeah look up jeep speed shop. They also have a kit to put the 8speed behind the 3.6 in the jk. It's using the ram 3.6 8speed transmission
@@pjshooter6 well I’ve got the 3.8, that’s why I asked. I’d need a whole new transmission when I do the swap. Figured if I could do the 5 speed from the 3.6 it would likely save me some cash as I could find used from somebody with a 3.6 that did a swap to an 8 speed. But after hearing what he said about the differences between the 5 speed and 8 speed I might just go 8 speed.
Does it work well with the 6 speed manual?
What I got from this is that it’s easier to buy a 392 Jeep with a loan instead of saving up to customize my raggedy ass JK. Now how to do that on an EMT salary is the real question.
Can you retro fit the 8 speed if you already have the hemi?
Absolutely
would hemi work well in 2 door?
Swapping a hemi and the 8 speed without also putting an atlas transfer case in is like a boddy builder who skips leg day
These prices are ridiculous and he is trying to discourage u from doing your on projects I wouldn't let him and his info is useful but really doesn't offer much info
What fenders are that?
iron cross fenders
You lost me at 40k!
so about 50k for everything. my lord
He had me at 40k lol
