    The best compliment and honour you can have is to pass on your skills and teachings and on this instructor you can see the ultimate compliment- a perfect student of LM and now the student is a master. This is a great channel, great instruction and is closely related to the Urban KM that I have been taught. Have a fabulous 2022!

    Learning to master the paralysis of one's own fear is the prerequisite for effectively mastering the self-defense situation. Your training seems to be very well put together in this regard. Good job!

    Professor Mulder glad you explained about why you grab your attacker after you initial strike to prevent him from possibly being killed from a fall on the concrete, thereby, avoiding possible litigation for going beyond the use of reasonable force, but, when faced with an opponent that continues to be aggressive then you have the option of continuing your aggression to control the situation. ALSO, maintaining contact with your attacker's arm gives you feedback when an aggressive threat is eminent through tactile sensitivity like "Chi Sao" or Sticky Hands!!!

    At 1:20 Lee is spot on I've seen top Tae Kwon Do guys freeze in chippys. When it kicks off trained Karate guys rely on holding the other guy. Lots of right hands no fancy techniques.

    Really like the building people up mentally. Also swallowing the ego in a street altercation is right on. If you can walk away from a bad situation, do it. If not go through whatevers stopping you.

    Who's thumbing this down? He's making sense. Violence is chaos. Fear. Disorientation. Confusion. Adrenaline. Etc. Gross motor skills are what should be trained. Practical quick non complicated maneuvers are what will give you the best chance. And understanding how to desensitize yourself to violence and knowing how to turn it on and off that's also key. Understanding what can go wrong in a fight and positioning yourself not to fall prey to that. All makes sense.

    That was an excellent explanation. I study Krav-Maga here in the US, and I enjoy your videos because just like where I train R.E.A.C.T Defense Systems It is reality-based training. Hope to
    train with you someday. It would be an honor, Sir.

    I think it differently. This hypothesis of becoming the predator HAS to be different for example between you (huge, mascular, scarylooking) and the accountant-like granpa behind. Cant apply same mentality as you guys are too different from each other. Also cant apply the same technique i think because there's too much difference in raw power. Nobody would come at you the same way someone would come at the granpa with glasses behind and this HAS to be acknowledge.

      @@g.h._4968 like this guy. He has to backup on this statement he made in this video which in my opinion differ from each and every person.

    • @schoolofselfprotection
      @schoolofselfprotection  3 роки тому +5

      The foundation should be your mindset. If you truly believe you are the biggest predator then it's functional. If somebody is victim selected he never expects that "victim' can become the predator. This element of surprise is a strong weapon. Especially if the tool of choice (depending on the selected target's skillset) fits the person. If you cannot generate enough impact power learn how to attack the eyes for example. If this is done from Surprise, Speed and violence of action you
      now have a chance. The difference between me and an accountant like grandpa is that they expect something from me and probably prepare for the worst. The advantage grandpa has is that they think he is an easy target.
