I love this absolute monster of a car, one of the all time best hyper hatches, and the sound, well it's just orgasmic for a hatch, and as for the looks, it still makes all modern hot hatches look standard, the one that started it all in my opinion, and I mean how can you beat this, just leaves you speechless as a whole, please do more sentimental videos and keep up the amazing content
I too have been a fan of the renault Clio v6 from a young age. First time I "drove" one was in one of those classic racing games (It was a need for speed game I think). However, I think it is a bit of a stretch to try and claim that it makes modern hot hatches look standard. Modern hatches are not only faster, but they look more aggressive. Cars that come to mind are the likes of: - A45 AMG - Yaris GR - Civic Type R - Audi Rs3 Come to think of it, the only modern hot hatches that look tame could be just the Golf and Hyundai i30N.
I had the pleasure of push starting one of these and one day walked out my house and it was standing in front so i can agree its really a proper gem!!! love this idea and what it is really an all time exciting car
My 2005 Alfa 147 GTA had a terrible turning circle too. That 3.2 V6 produced 250 PS (184 kW) and, in my opinion, sounded better than the Clio V6. What a machine!
OH MYYY! I always knew I loved cars since I was a sprout, but when I saw this (phase 2 same color as in video) parked in the sun in Braamfontein back in 2006, when i was fresh out of high school...the love grew deeper! So much that i bought the Clio 2 182 cup in the same blue (closest i could get to the V6 i thought). I agree that this is one of the best looking cars ever made! In bare metal its even crazier!!!! This is the one "Pony car" i yearn to have, to this day...Thanks for this, Ciro and team!
Looks stunning in the blue, what a car, I wonder if we wil ever see something like this ever again, I’m n owner of GR Yaris rally and I’m still crazy over this thing , i was a young man 😊when they came out and just loved them ever since
Ciro bro this is so me man .. you're absolutely living my dream!!! I saw Jeremy driving this little monster came back bought need for speed video game I only "drove" this monster gone are those days!
I feel like this is a tribute to the Renault Sport as its now shifting to Alpine. The timing is just amazing. One day I will tell my story like Ciro did on the Top Gear story. Amazing video👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
"This whole car doesn't make sense"🤣. Our favourite kinda car. My FAVOURITE line of this whole review 🤣🤣🤣🤣. Hats off to the reference back to To Gear👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤️
Nice to see Clarkson had such an influence on you...and yes he has an uncanny love for French hot hatch...ps i own a Clio 172 and its every much better than the vw GTI of the same era.
Its true what they say. We "hate" what we don't understand. I never used to even look at this car. I actually would scoff at it. But I also wonder if it's got to do with maturity on my part, or wether it's the Ciro effect, again. Nonetheless, cool review.
One of my favourite Cars of all time ,Especially in this Colour ! I had a Clio 172 in only Silver then, & was a beautiful car too ,but So Special as the Mid Eng V 6 ! I very nearly bought one of these as well ! Such a Beautiful & Amazing Car . And was this Colour . One Regret in my Life I Live with to this Day, of not owning the best Hot Hatch ever made ! More looks toward this Car then most Ferrari's ! In N.Z. it wasn't new, but with no Mileage or Kilometers on the Clock ! Being a family man instead bought A Black Pearl Laguna Executive ! A beautiful Car too ,but in a Completely different League ! Of Course I am Mad French Car Enthusiast ! A family from the 1950's first in all the French Marques ! And Still now own ,& drive a Tricked Up Reno Megane Sport 5 Door Hatch which Still drives like New ! 250 HP. & With 450 NM Torque . I would Love This in my Shed ,today alongside The Red Magane ! Thank U for this Video ,Well done mate ,with Love from Australia , just Wonderful ! Greatly appreciated !
I was a student living in CPT City Centre 2005. Driving into town there was a big billboard and there was a Renault dealership that had one. Never went in though.
don't really get the turning radius issue, was frunk space more important than the turning ability? especially with Frances infamously narrow back streets you'd think it would be more of a priority 🤷
What would one of these retail for now? I used to work for a used car dealership in Boksburg in 08/09 and we had one on the floor for 400K back then...i`d hate to see the price tag on one now...
Crossley & Webb had one just like this for sale less than 60k KM's, 2 years or so back. The price tag shatters dreams and makes eyes water. (I bet this is the same car)
@@DjiCandi Probably the same one, it was also blue...we had it parked next to a pearl white Alfa 147 GTA at the time and those two cars brought so much attention the floor...sadly the boss wouldn`t let any of the sales guys drive either of them...
watching the review and thinking to myself from the back it looks like a renult megan f1.....from the side it looks like a golf 6 gti W12 concept and the front looks like a regular clio lol
V6, no turbo, no artificial sound, engine whispering in your neck..... Remember when I saw one of these as a kid.... suddenly Ferrari, Lamborghini, BMW, Aston Martin, and many more become just brands for hats, watches, and other merchandise...
Pity that Renault now only make little 3 & 4-pots, aimed at the budget conscious - with zero "coolness pedigree" or street-credit anymore. Thus, boring and forgettable cars... The Clio V6 was a simple, yet incredible masterpiece of engineering, that that provided fun like few other cars on earth (at the time), and punched way above its weight! A true legend!
Not that quick, handles like a dog on Lino would I have one?? Course I fuckin would just look at it!! One of the best looking cars ever to grace a road just perfection and totally bonkers.
i still don`t understand why this car has such a horrible turning circle "there`s pretty much nothing in the front, including CV joints.....so.....why" why is it so bad, it`s wider so there`s more room for the wheels.........someone please explain to me why this legend doesn`t have a better turning circle than the front wheel version.
Just because it's rare doesn't make it a classic or great. Renault doesn't deserve that status with its shocking history of quality and reliability. Stop trying to polish a turd
That heart-warming moment at the end was 🤌🏽❤ beautiful!
I love when Renault do something crazy. The Clio v6, the Espace F1, even the Avantime
They do love their crazy cars!
As a Renault Megane 3 RS owner… I FULLY AGREE!!!
It's such a pity that emission regulations will keep this from ever happening again. Imagine a current clio in a similar outfit?
This brings back Need For Speed Carbon memories

I was very lucky to have driven one of these about 12 years ago. Loud as hell but so so much fun. Very rare... lots of them burnt out back in the day
Great opportunity you had there!
My 2005 Alfa 147 GTA had a terrible turning circle too. That 3.2 V6 produced 250 PS (184 kW) and, in my opinion, sounded better than the Clio V6. What a machine!
That's an amazing sounding engine
Most people say the busso V6 is one of the best sounding V6's, period
Nobody asked you about your Alfa. We came here to appreciate the Clio
Love it. Drove one in 2014. An absolute dream cat

That is an awesome story!
Ive been looking for the 172 or 182 for ages ..... They're impossible to fimd 😭😭😭😭
How hard is it to maintain a 182 in South Africa?
Well done. The entire time I watched this, I was thinking about how this is all the good stuff of a Jeremy Clarkson review plus more. You nailed it!
Seeing dis Clio brings back the NFS MW😀😀😀
I've always wanted to do a build like this, rear engine hatchback. Amazing.
Even the normal 2.0 was fun to drive on the track. Good to see Ciro in civilisation again.
Looks stunning in the blue, what a car, I wonder if we wil ever see something like this ever again, I’m n owner of GR Yaris rally and I’m still crazy over this thing , i was a young man 😊when they came out and just loved them ever since
You are one great car reviewer, and we all love hot hatches the most, right? God bless you
Ciro bro this is so me man .. you're absolutely living my dream!!! I saw Jeremy driving this little monster came back bought need for speed video game I only "drove" this monster gone are those days!
Definitely one of my favourite cars ever! Thanks for the memories.
Living the dream with Ciro 😂 nice one bro 👊
Got to see one in person in 2013 at Zwartkops Extreme Festival, absolute stunner of a car. ❤️
Awesome!
I feel like this is a tribute to the Renault Sport as its now shifting to Alpine. The timing is just amazing. One day I will tell my story like Ciro did on the Top Gear story. Amazing video👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thanks!
Cheers from Romania, Clio 200 Cup owner here :) nice that you meet your super hero :)))
"This whole car doesn't make sense"🤣. Our favourite kinda car.
My FAVOURITE line of this whole review 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Hats off to the reference back to To Gear👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤️
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Talking about dreams coming true . I really love that clio v6
If I was ever in the position to build my perfect 10 car garage. A phase two Clio V6 would definitely be one of the ten cars.
Good review.
Nice to see Clarkson had such an influence on you...and yes he has an uncanny love for French hot hatch...ps i own a Clio 172 and its every much better than the vw GTI of the same era.
You own a 172 in South Africa? Can I ask how hard it is to find parts for?
Special piece of machinery! Love it!
Its true what they say. We "hate" what we don't understand.

Beautiful video. Thanks for the share. Dreams come true.

A car I wish I could’ve kept. A great review that brought back a lot of memories
You had one here in South Africa?
Rare machine haven't seen one years
Good day man
Thanks for the great content . Met you the other day. I am big fan. Keep up the great work.
I had the 2L Clio sport. Bought it way back in 2001. Even that was a hoot to drive!
Very special car & good job Ciro!
Brilliant video. Great job in sharing this with us!
Thanks so much :)
This is my dream car too. Legend
Brilliant car, enjoyed your review.
Love this episode!
Brings back memories of gran turismo
I never knew we had those in South Africa as I've never ever seen one on our roads! Thanks for sharing. COOL STUFF!!!
I was a student living in CPT City Centre 2005. Driving into town there was a big billboard and there was a Renault dealership that had one. Never went in though.
What a wonderful thing it is, to live your dream.👍
Couldn't agree more, it is one of the most beautiful cars of all time.
would love to see the clio take on the yaris, old vs new
Made my morning 👌
A childhood dream
Back when passion driven engineers still had the upper hand against finance and marketing.
Suddenly I am very nostalgic
This reminds me of those gran Turismo 4 days
Don't care for French cars in the slightest, but this is something special.
Back in the days, this was actually my favourite car on Need For Speed Most Wanted 😍😃
I also used to gap supercars with this baby on NFS Most Wanted, The handling was brilliant 👌
don't really get the turning radius issue, was frunk space more important than the turning ability? especially with Frances infamously narrow back streets you'd think it would be more of a priority 🤷
My dream car
Saw a bloke in my town have a silver V6 , didn't know it was that rare lol
I see tears ….lol. Top video bro
Wow jeez the last time I drove this vehicle was in NFS MOST WANTED😭🔥
That's also my dream car
What would one of these retail for now?

R650k now
Review the Maserati sedans before they’re replaced
V6 Clio makes no sense at all but thats why i love that crazy car !
Ciro you should really get one for yourself 👍😊
watching the review and thinking to myself from the back it looks like a renult megan f1.....from the side it looks like a golf 6 gti W12 concept and the front looks like a regular clio lol
I want one. Shame I have the clip ii 1.2 16v the most reliable.
when you reviewing a Ford Focus ST and RS MK2? stock and modified
Was on sale for R649 00
This is the perfect car for the meme "cargo space?"....."Car no do that, car go road!"
Yus this is a special one
Drag race a bit with this new yaris let's see
Beautiful Car!!!
✌️ 😎
Better than any VW ever
You forgetting the clio 172/182 cups? The 182 T?rophy
V6, no turbo, no artificial sound, engine whispering in your neck..... Remember when I saw one of these as a kid.... suddenly Ferrari, Lamborghini, BMW, Aston Martin, and many more become just brands for hats, watches, and other merchandise...
Lovely little car 🚗
I saw one for sale @ R400k 🤯
Whr
A shame Renault don't make hot Clio's anymore.
Try a phase 1 different story
Nice video Please also film 🎥 a Volkswagen Polo GP 1.2 TSI Highline 81kw DSG 2016.
I would like to learn more about the specific model
Please review the Mahindra Dusk Vs Karoo
We will add it to the list of things to film
Not Much Over-Hang, Front and Rear. Little Gorilla. Thanks. Great Vid.
Thanks for watching!
Not that quick, handles like a dog on Lino would I have one?? Course I fuckin would just look at it!! One of the best looking cars ever to grace a road just perfection and totally bonkers.
First time I've seen this car. Where do the kids go? 😂
R.I.P. Renault Sport :(
i still don`t understand why this car has such a horrible turning circle "there`s pretty much nothing in the front, including CV joints.....so.....why" why is it so bad, it`s wider so there`s more room for the wheels.........someone please explain to me why this legend doesn`t have a better turning circle than the front wheel version.
Sounds like the cars from GTA San Andreas
Hahaha
“ laughing in Golf W12” 😈
this is a bakkie that carries around its engine at the back, and only its engine.
😂 This is so funny!
It' not crazy, it's French.
Not that rare!!
If you think this is the best car ever, and best sound..........dude you need to get out more😂😂😂😂
Just because it's rare doesn't make it a classic or great. Renault doesn't deserve that status with its shocking history of quality and reliability. Stop trying to polish a turd
