    This video (in base) and the first part (in acid) enabled me to FINALLY understand balancing redox reactions. The instruction I received in school and via my text started to have me think that it couldn't be done. Thank you!!!

    How can you just subtract those protons (6H+ from each side at 11:21)? I thought that you weren't allowed to subtract.

    one question I want to ask is that is redox reaxions and all this oxidation reductions stuff important in medicine? do we need to know it?

    • @6MasterWilly6

      Have you ever taken any biochemistry course? The electron transport chain and the production of ATP depends on redox reactions involving enzymes! Without those redox reactions, you'd be dead!

    so you can tell if it's a base if there are H+ left on each end of the equation, but if there if H+ left one one side, then it is an acid?
    right

    how do you know if it is acidic or basic???

    • @Annamarie-zz7tl
      @Annamarie-zz7tl 9 років тому +3

      Jenny Zhao They must tell you that information in the question. At least, that is what my teacher told us, it will say if it is acidic or basic.

    • @guadalupeflorian7913
      @guadalupeflorian7913 7 років тому +2

      It's acidic if it has a hydride (H+ metal/nonmetal) and it's basic if it has a compound with covalent bond (metal+nonmetal) usually would be a OH-
