Congratulations on your purchase. I was fortunate to buy an identical car in July 2016 with my retirement money. 2006 winning blue touring with matching factory hardtop, 29818 miles (no accidents). Completely stock (except a previous owner installed a Kenwood deck). Currently has 38299 miles, original brakes. I had the gearbox filled with Ford fluid XT-M5-QS full synthetic, Redline 75W90 GL-5 gear oil for the rear diff. I replaced the overflow reservoir in 2017. I had Nitto Neo Gen 205/50 R16 tires installed in 2020. I put on a short antenna (still have original). I'm old enough to be your grandfather. My first sports car was a 1969 Triumph Spitfire in 1973. I'm keeping it stock, will be a nice car for someone after I'm gone.
I think we bought our 2006’s at the same time and I looked at all the NCs listed for sale in Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego Counties. Congratulations!
The TIMING couldn't be better. I've been planning to give my current car (2018 prius) to my mom and buy myself an NC miata early next year when I graduate college. Today her transmission broke down... So she's buying my car off me and I'm in the market for an NC Miata. I'm very worried about getting scammed with buying a rusty one here in the north east. I am HEAVILY LOOKING FORWARD to that buyers guide, this made my day!
Love winning blue! Owned a mazda3 in winning blue for 9 years. I put almost 230K miles on it! Wish Mazda would offer the ND in more sporty, exciting colors.
Winning blue is lovely. I had an '04 Mazda3 Sport GT in that colour and loved it for the 14yrs I had that car. Time to find a NC for myself it seems. I'll be following the channel to see how you both get on with yours.
Winning Blue is such a great color. shame it was only offered in 2006. Would've made a great PRHT offering. Welcome to the NC gang. Have fun making her your very own. 🎉🎉🏁🏁
LOVE the color (my favorite NC color) and looking forward to future videos with the car. My humble plate suggestion would be "WINNING" Love the channel!
Gorgeous color for sure. The wheels look great. Glad you were able to find such a clean an well maintaned NC1. Heres to years an years of happy motoring.
Congrats! that blue is the one I would want in an NC. I just bought a 2016 ND 2.0 at the start of July and have already done 2500 miles in it (and thats only fun driving). I have had a bunch of fun cars before and while the ND isnt the fastest in a straight line it is the one that makes me smile the most. The amount of speed it can do in corners without getting spicy is awsome. And it makes me, a highly average driver feel like the the boundary between grip and slip is a wide ribbon that I can explore without really being caught out.
Fantastic! I bought a nearly mint 2007 GT 6sp soft top in Copper Red in April that had 35k miles on it and was completely stock. Have done some small things so far (LED lights, Sony Carplay/AA headunit, lowered driver's seat). Will install new coolant tank and front lip next weekend. Coilovers or lowering springs and new exhaust planned for next year. Can't wait to see what you do with yours. Congrats and welcome to the NC1 club.
Gorgeous colour; be very careful not to lower it too much if that’s what you intend. My learning after six NCs is that 30mm is max for usability & also that good progressive springs are just as good as coil overs for fast road driving.
This goes for any car really. Yes it looks better lowered but everything is setup for that original ride height. I dropped my NA about 1.5’ overall and had a quite a bit of bump steer before changing out my tie rods to the r spec version. Adjustable coilovers are great if you want to spend 20 hours adjusting them a hundred times otherwise just get non adjustable setup.
I just purchased a 2013 club edition prht with 30k!!! I'm so excited to see what i do to it! I have my 95 yata up on jacks in the garage.. don't have time to finish putting it back together so i went out searching for my dream miata! And found it!
Congrats on the car! I love my base, rust free, soft top 06. I'm eager to see what you do with it going forward. I find a lot of the cosmetic mods are: NC2/NC3 only. Looks like the previous owner did better mods than my previous owner did. Seems built for stock class autocross.
Congratulations!! On finding a pristine looking and awesome color Miata I so love that blue looks gorgeous also on naming the Miata hows about “gumball” I think it’s quite fitting don’t you think
I would love to add a winning blue to my collection. I've already got 2 nc2 grand touring, one soft top with oem hardtop, and one prht special edition. Love these nc!
ive been driving a 2.0l nc1 for about a year and a half now and its such a great car, 1000 percent nc1 soft top is the way to go, if u want a hard top get the removable hard top it looks so much better than the prht with its bulbus cabin look, its lighter, the rear end looks way better, the nc1 grill actually looks like a miata where as the nc2 and 3 smiling grille is genuinly horrific, to anyone concerned about getting a nc1 instead of an nc2 or nc3 dont stress they are still extremely fun extremely reliable and i think the price cut and benifits for getting an nc1 soft top outweighs the pro's of whatever an nc2/nc3 prht offers
Just got my 06 GT today. Second NC, third Miata. Last one failed inspection due to rust at 122,000, so it’s getting sold. “New” one has the chrome gas flap. I don’t want to be mean, but it is horrendous and tacky IMO. Nice to hear there is a market for them. Congratulations on your new life guy. I live in NW PA and just cannot imagine not having a Miata forever. They are a life hack. I’m 20yrs in and just as jazzed to drive it; anywhere.
Coco floor mats are the best! A staple on the east coast - those are quite the penny to get a pair. Usually a sign of good taste and good maintenance in a car.
I bought the same color car & thought that it had been patched in the paint as did not seem to match. But yours looks a little the same so now I realize it was only the color. Although I did respray the car as I loved storm blue. Super happy with the outcome too. I put extra flake in it & it changes to a darker color at night. Great cars though. Had it for 3 years now.
I have a crazy red colored ND, but that Winning Blue is my favorite Miata color! I also miss my NC GT and would still have it if I hadn't ran it aground to avoid a rodent. I bought the ND 'cause it promised to be even better but now feel it's a toss up. Jason Cammisa, a highly regarded automotive journalist from Hagerty, knows cars and prefers the NC over the ND.
Since you now have 3 NCs I would love to see a NC suspension compare The Goodwin Racing Koni Roadster Sport package vs the Meister Zeta CRD.... I understand that Meister also has a new Zeta Sport and of course you have Ohlins and Xidas at much higher price point... I am leaning towards doing the Goodwin Koni Roadster Sport Package to replace the stock Bilsteins on my NC next spring since i want the be able to fine tune ride height
I have a blue Miata NC, 1.8L. Last week I went out with a friend with ND and we swapped cars. The ND was more powerful with its 2L, it had a better suspension (Bilstein vs stock NC), LSD, but the entire experience was ruined by the electrical direction, too much assisted, whereas the NC has a hydraulic SUPERB direction. Plus, the interior is better with the NC, everything is too modern in the ND. And it was the first time I saw my car from outside when in traffic, I couldn't take my eyes off it! At the end of the day, I wanted my NC back but my friend was like "Dude, the NC is sooo fun to drive, I love it!" and he wanted to drive it a bit more on our way back home. And for me, I don't think I will ever own an ND, that electrical steering is a NO GO on a sports car for me!
How much did you pay for this beauty? I’ve been looking for a 2006-2008. Best price I found near me in the northeast is 10k for a 2006 red sport 6sp soft conv. With 70k miles
I have a 2010 NC2 PRHT here in Western Australia. Never seen rain . Mazda underbody protection is awful! As soon as I got mine I pulled every black part ( bracing, suspension) etc & had it all powder coated. Then i coated the whole underbody & cavities with a brilliant product called Fisholene. ( like waxoil ) . There should have been a class action against Mazda , designed to rot !!
Nice ride, But it seems that the front bumper color doesn't match perfectly the rest of the car. It has probably been resprayed. If i were you, i would try to check if youur car had an accident.
My True Red NC3 Club had definitely been in an accident, as was evidenced by the shitty paint matching, overspray, and lack of the MX-5 decal stripe, but its carfax showed that it had never been in an accident. The previous "owner" was a rental agency. You cannot always trust the Carfax.
@@FlywheelFilms every car front bumper is plastic nowadays. It's also possible that your car has not been in an accident, maybe the front bumper has been resprayed du to some scratches. If i were you, i would take the front bumper out to check underneath if everything is OK and if you have the budget, maybe ask a good body shop to repaint the bumper.
NC is a great Miata! The NC won Car & Driver's Top 10 list for 8 straight years. Thta's more time than any other generation.

Exciting times! Best of luck for you.
Sooo cool! I have a Galaxy Gray 06' and absolutely love it, hope the Miata gives you the greatest canvas you can have in a car.
Love winning blue! Owned a mazda3 in winning blue for 9 years. I put almost 230K miles on it! Wish Mazda would offer the ND in more sporty, exciting colors.
I guess they mean serious business 😂
An amazing colour and look who cares for the extra when a car look as great as yours
Congrats, captain!

Great looking car! I also just picked my first Miata, also a low option 5spd NC1. In Canada, we got the Club Spec as a base car.
I would love to add a winning blue to my collection. I've already got 2 nc2 grand touring, one soft top with oem hardtop, and one prht special edition. Love these nc!
Great colour, and love the wheels, but shouldn't the soft top sit completely inside the back part?

Add a lsd. You made pretty good donuts without the lsd tho! Nice job!!
Those were already there 😅
Sure. Sure. Sell me some swamp land.

Similar to mine. I've got a 2006 6 speed gt with 80k miles. 2.5 swapped with about 35k on the 2.5 motor now.

Clean Carfax! Because the front bumper isn’t metal, the paint looks slightly different in some light. It’s especially noticeable on certain NC colors.
