    I appreciate the videos Jackson. I only got MisterR sportives, light FM wheel lugnuts, light FM wheels, light GWR single street exhaust and a light flywheel FM clutch combo. Sadly the clutch was badly installed, and I had to replace it with a Stage 2 Exedy combo. Then i installed a detachable powered subwoofer in the trunk, which defeats all the weight savings, lol. I got to have my base when the roof is down at speed, sorry Miata purists. I have other minor mods I can't even remember right now, but I have to look back at my car every time I get out of it. Yes it has dents and scratches, but who cares. I would've never imagined an NC2 could gather as much attention as it does. You get thumbs up, and you get nasty looks too. You're right, the CB exhaust gives it that addictive sports car note. I can't tell you how much I enjoy daily driving it. Yes, you do have to dodge potholes, and you have to angle everything so you don't rub your LRB undertray bolts, but the experience is so addictive. Sorry Miata purists, but I think the NC, IMHO is the absolute best Miata there is. Yes, I do have the fat PRHT too.

    I don't have a MX5 now but I'm planning on getting one in a few year's time as my retirement present. Target would be an NC2 or NC3. But in the meantime, keeping my eyes opened on maintenance, servicing and upgrades if I get one.
    I have a question. I love the outdoors (hiking, mountain biking, trail running) and sometimes, I need to drive through gravel roads or light off road trails to get to trail heads. Definitely be slapping on some A/T tires but I'm torn between putting in a 2" lift kit or installing longer shocks. In your opinion, can I do either one without any modification or replacement of the suspension components?

      NOPRO actually makes a strut top spacer to raise the body. I would go with coilovers and just adjust the height to your desired settings. Plus it will handle better if you want to lower it down for more spirited driving

    Last year I bought a 2012 PRHT in the same color; yours looks great. You've made it your own but it's not too over the top. I'm considering Ohlin's coil overs as my 1st upgrade to flatten the car out and help it handle like it should.

      @@FeedThatAddiction as an Öhlins owner, I'd say: consider options that don't limit shock travel. I'm happy with my Öhlins and they perform well on track, but I'm not so happy about sacrificing wheel travel. Just one perspective but if you take Flyin' Miata's word for it, it's purely done to cut costs.
      Just something to think about. They're still fantastic coilovers

    I feel like the 2.5 is great for midrange torque, but if you want to rev higher, the 2.0 from the NC2/3 is the better option. I'm planning on doing cams and valve springs on my NC3, and I should be able to see 8000RPMs with that setup. The 2.5 doesn't like to rev above 7000 without destroking it. I also don't like the idea of deleting the balance shafts. That being said the 2.5 is still a fantastic option, it's just not for me.

    • @JETZcorp
      @JETZcorp 4 місяці тому +1

      The 2.5 is a great race engine when you care more about lap time than character. I'm all about the revs. The 2.0 has a bigger bore and shorter stroke than an S2000. It has potential to really spin like crazy if built to do so.

    • @gaming4christ_1
      @gaming4christ_1 4 місяці тому

      @@JETZcorp I whole heartedly agree. 2.5 is a weapon on the track (until people start paying for the K24 swap) but I'm never doing a 2.5 swap. Cams and valve springs on my car should get me to at least 7800RPM, hopefully 8000.

    I'm trying to think if there are any mods I regret on my NC, but I can't really think of anything. I'm in the process of doing a full Bosectomy on it right now, and I hope I don't regret it, but I'm fairly confident I won't. I definitely like watching what you have done to yours and take some ideas from you and other NC UA-camrs. I am old as dirt so I can't really get away with the crazy appearance mods any more, so I'm trying to mod mine in a way that keeps a fairly stock appearance while being quite not stock underneath.

    So far I've upgraded wheels (heliograms), muffler (cobalt), headers (hooker), and an ecotek tune from dynotronics.

      @JETZcorp 4 місяці тому

      @midtown1466 The Firehawks are priced very well. However, I must put in a word for the Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 (God, I hate their names). I got these in the stock little 205/45 size, and the grip is completely outrageous. But what I didn't expect was the wet performance. @toshibavoodoo If you really prioritize a comfy ride over absolute sharp handling, going to lightweight 16" wheels is a big help. I'm planning to get a set of 16x7.5 Hypergrams and put either 215/50-16 or 205/55-16 all-seasons as my cruising tire, and have some really spicy 200tw tires in 225/45-17 for track days and street racing. That way, I can change the character of the car by just swapping wheels in 15 minutes. I did the winter tire thing last year, but they drove really gummy and gross feeling.
