Got the Lenovo LOQ 15 Ryzen 7 7840HS yesterday for $699.99. Lenovo said it can take up to 32gb of RAM. But I read on some forums that it can work with 64gb. I got 2 32gb 4800MHz in there and it works fine. So, I have 64gb of RAM. I also added a 2TB NVME SSD to the 512gb that comes with the laptop (it has 2 slots). Nice deal from Best Buy. The best laptop for the money.
The laptop in the video is likely a preproduction unit - the battery lacks any markings, and the cooler assembly is different (production units have much more blue color). The right sided USB port is actually SuperSpeed-capable on production LOQs, at least the ones sold in Europe.
Very happy with this laptop. Through the Lenovo Vantage software I toned down the power levels of the CPU/GPU and now it's whisper quiet. The 7840HS and 4060 RTX are both very power efficient and can do allot with little power fed to them. The 7840HS is basically a slightly slower version of the 7940HS but it retains all its features such as the built-in AI engine. The laptop chassis is very sturdy and feels and looks premium. Sound is above average compared to my previous laptops. Using external monitor. As a hobby programmer I ran the laptop through a heavily multi-threaded 95%+ CPU workload through the night and it performed flawlessy while being almost fully quiet, but you have to done down the power levels through the Lenovo Vantage software to achieve that. The 7840HS is so efficient that it actually does not lose much performance while being power starved. Given how cheap these units are the value here is incredible. Look no further if you are a power-efficiency enthousiast that is looking for a deal on the latest hardware.
Lenovo srsly been killing it recently. Though in my country, stock availability issues can be frustrating sometimes. I like this new LOQ but I personally would buy the Legion for that extra bit of build quality that will definitely make a difference if you take it out quite a bit.
awesome video and nice singing! I agree with everything. There is a 16" version with the 16:10 ratio, so that's one thing fixed. But I'm really considering not buying this laptop because the blue accents. I just want full stealth black; I don't want non-gamers to know that I'm a gamer and have them judge me :S

After getting the Lenovo LOQ15APH8, I must say that its performance in video games it's great. It has a good CPU and GPU; AMD processor of the lastest generation same as the NVIDIA RTX of 8GB latest generation. However, the biggest flaw it's the battery, if you want to use it without a charger, that battery dies faster than an iPhone (it has 2 hrs at best for use, no gaming, regular use, and with the charger connected it does not charge in full, it's stuck in 95%). I still don't know if the battery is defective or if I should buy a new one, any help with this?
the charging stuck at 95% might be a feature of the lenovo vantage software to extend battery health, there should be an option to disable it in vantage
I want to buy the loq 15 base model i5 13420h 8gb ram rtx 3050 6gb with 60wh battery, is the battery that bad? Even by deactivating dgpu? So why is it portable in the first place, i want it for college as my primary use and the second is gaming Do you think it's worth it for 600$?
Hm... Because you'd want a balance between gpu and cpu power to get a versatile machine. Most ppl won't be able to utilize that Ryzen 7 to it's full potential with this gpu combo so you'd just be paying extra for something you don't necessarily need.
I just bought mine. I5 13500H with a 4050 and 1TB SSD with 8Gb ram for 770 on Amazon. Which i also went ahead and purchased 2x16 of DDR5 for an extra hundred.

Not on this laptop's screen, but if you use a larger external display then yes. It's not your eyes, but the pixel density per inch. On a larger display. the pixels are way bigger, so you might start to see dots if you game with your eyes too close to the screen which FPS shooter players do.

If you're already used to playing games at 60+ fps, this laptop isn't anything special, but for me, it was quite an upgrade over my previous laptop. The gaming experience simply blew me away, I could finally crank every setting to max, without needing to worry about a stable 60+ fps framerate. Games like CS2, or Overwatch ran buttery smooth, maintaining over 120 fps all the time, and running more demanding story focused games wasn't an issue either. The best thing is it all comes with a very reasonable price tag, and the build quality feels way better than other budget laptops. I would definitely recommend it as a first gaming laptop with the following specs: i7-13620h, RTX 4060 and 32 gigs of ram

The 13th Gen intel processor is around the same performance as the 12th gen one. The 13th gen got a new hybrid architecture which is really showing a massive difference from the 12th Gen. The 4050 is enough for whatever you're gonna throw at it.

I wanna get into pc gaming but im scared to throw thousands down. I slowly wanna ease my way in. Been think either the steam deck or a gaming laptop to see if i really wanna take that extra step
It all depends in your budget. If you're thinking about buying a gaming laptop, the most important components are the GPU and ram. To get a smooth experience I would recommend only looking at laptops with RTX 40-series GPUs, like 4050, 4060, or even 4090, but those are quite expensive. An RTX 4060 should be enough to run most games on ultra settings. If you want something cheaper, an RTX 30-series might be good, but you'll have to turn the graphics down to medium when running the latest games. As for the ram, the minimum nowadays is at least 16 gigabytes, most games should be able to run with that, but if you want to run games with other programs running in the background, you might need to step it up to 32 gigs. CPUs aren't that important, as most games mainly utilise the GPU

The main difference being the top metal lid should not be the primary deciding factor. My Legion 5 with the similar build quality of the LOQ has fallen down a respectable height multiple times from the hands of friends and annoying cousins and this thing still has not even a single dent or scratch. Lenovo laptops are on the sturdier side of things. What you should be focused on is whether the specs will last longer. The ryzen 7 in the LOQ reaches a 5.1Ghz max turbo, plus the zen4 architecture is really power efficient. Not that you're gonna be playing games on battery but you can rely on it to last long whilst doing things on battery. The 40 series is infact a huge let down this year. DLSS 3 does increase the average frame rates more than the 3060 for even less power drawn, so that's the only good improvement you get with the 40 series. That is ofc in games that support dlss 3. It is a power efficient card at the end of the day.

It's not really a Lenovo problem. It's a laptop problem. Laptops are not like desktops where you can find drivers that support older Windows OS easily. Sorry to hear about your issues man.
Thanks for the review. May I ask is Processor or GPU more important for gaming? I see in the shop different specs from your video, for USD 730: Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 7640HS Memory: 8 GB SO-DIMM DDR5-5600 Graphics: RTX 3050 6GB GDDR6 Boost Clock. Is this acceptable for the price or are they short changing me in terms of the lower processor/graphics card? What would you change? Thanks so much.
Which one would you to prefer to user i7 13620h with 4060 or ryzen 7 7840hs with 4060 lenovo loq supposing balanced or all rount user and also what was battery life on it?
ryzen 7 7840hs better, search on youtube Jarrods comparison of the r7 7840hs VS I7 13700H (better than 13620H) and you'll see that the r7 is better, so with the 13620H u get less for more watts
Which you prefer? Nitro 5-17 12650h rtx 4060 Vs LOQ 15 - Ryzen 7 7840hs rtx 4060 Mostly for valorant and might play games like cyberpunk or forza or other competitive games I ask another content creator and he said nitro cuz i7 is better than r7 when it comes to games like valorant, but in your vid it seems like loq is better and in terms of battery wise, ryzen is better when i research.... DLSS 3 does increase the average frame rates more than the 3060 for even less power drawn, so that's the only good improvement you get with the 40 series. That is ofc in games that support dlss 3. It is a power efficient card at the end of the day.
@@jupiteruniverse8683estaba por comprarme una MSI pero está Lenovo tiene mejor TGP, DDR5 y ahora con tu comentario avalando su durabilidad me eh decantado por ella, es mi primera laptop y ando emocionado

Just bought the same laptop, but when I start it I have a blackscreen. When rebooting its gone tho. Do you know how to fix it?
No idea actually. Try updating all your drivers
oes this support igpu hybrid mode for ultrabooks efficiency mode
All modele of loq comes with free mouse?

How long can the battery last unplugged on 50% brightness and backlit off doing web browsing, spreadsheet or video playback? Have you tested this?
Around 5+ hours. Not the best. The 16 inch version has the option to upgrade to an 80Whr battery, should be much better.
good job man
I would love some advice, i just bought this for my sons and i am considering upgrading the 8gb ram, should i replace the single stick with 1x 16gb stick or 2x 8gb sticks, or 2x 16gb sticks?
Of course 2× 16 is the best choice but it will cost you more
bro helps me choose between r5 7640hs rtx 4050 and i5 13420h rtx 4050
I found Lenovo LOQ for 1199$ with ryzen 5 7640hs and rtx4050 and 1 tb memory. Is it good ?
Way too expensive
Excelente video felicidades, a pesar de que lo ví con subtitulos me resultó muy útil toda la información. 👌🏻
Gracias my friend
Can u charge the laptop with type c port???
no
it actually charges with my 65w charger and type c cable only when it is turned off. It won't charge when it is on.
Thanks bro i ordered it
No worries!
Bro what are your thoughts on Xiaomi Redmi G Pro
Where do you buy ram and memory that fits for those empty slots
Shop online or go to a computer store
Can u give me a solutions. This laptop comes with windows 11. But i downgrade this to windows 10. But problem is now speaker not working. I already call customer care. They telling me if u Downgrade this laptop some hardware not work. Fu** of lenovo loq15 😢
It's not really a Lenovo problem. It's a laptop problem. Laptops are not like desktops where you can find drivers that support older Windows OS easily. Sorry to hear about your issues man.
But Bcz the battery is about 60Whrs plz tell me if we doing only normaal tasks without running any game! then how many hours can this laptop go?
Check out the battery life segment
Thanks for the review. May I ask is Processor or GPU more important for gaming?
I see in the shop different specs from your video, for USD 730:
Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 7640HS
Memory: 8 GB SO-DIMM DDR5-5600
Graphics: RTX 3050 6GB GDDR6 Boost Clock.
Is this acceptable for the price or are they short changing me in terms of the lower processor/graphics card? What would you change? Thanks so much.
GPU for sure. especially with laptops, because they are very unlikely to pair underpowered CPUs that bottleneck GPUs.
@@MOBHouse So i should not accept a 3050? must at least go for 4050?
Which one would you to prefer to user i7 13620h with 4060 or ryzen 7 7840hs with 4060 lenovo loq supposing balanced or all rount user and also what was battery life on it?
ryzen 7 7840hs better, search on youtube Jarrods comparison of the r7 7840hs VS I7 13700H (better than 13620H) and you'll see that the r7 is better, so with the 13620H u get less for more watts
Is it better than Dell g15 tho?
Predator helios neo 16 i5 13500hx 4060 or this one? Which do you prefer?
If I'm not wrong, tue helios should be quite a bit more expensive
@@MOBHousein my country acer helios neo 16 is cheaper than anything lenovo has released this year and last year.
What if compare with last year legion 5 rtx 3060 with R7 6800H
How is fan sound during heavy use ? is it loud ?

How well could this laptop play Escape From Tarkov?
Can battery last longer than 5 hours cause i want to use it for class
Yes if u set to balanced with 50% screen brightness
@@MOBHouse okay thanks 👍

thanks man, appreciate it
Is the store giving free mouse with laptop i have no Idea 😢
lenovo m100 rgb mouse is included in the box
Which you prefer?
Nitro 5-17 12650h rtx 4060
Vs
LOQ 15 - Ryzen 7 7840hs rtx 4060 Mostly for valorant and might play games like cyberpunk or forza or other competitive games
I ask another content creator and he said nitro cuz i7 is better than r7 when it comes to games like valorant, but in your vid it seems like loq is better and in terms of battery wise, ryzen is better when i research.... So i want your opinion
Gonna go with ryzen next month u wont go wrong either way some games runs better on intel some on amd
the ryzen 7840 is a better cpu for gaming ;)
battery life?
Love your voice
Thanks man
Should i go for this loq or Legion 5(5800)?
Hm.... Legion is better built but this new gen processor is more powerful and power efficient. So u choose.
7:46 loq 16 has 16:10 aspect ratio.
If you upgrade the laptop to RAM 32, will there be a problem?
Yes. It will run better and you won't stop gaming. That's a problem.
@@MOBHouse I have bougth this machine after watching the review but Lenovo is saying that Maximum RAM can be only 16GB. 8GB in each slot.
@@reviewwithkarmadid you buy the cheapest model? And btw users tried adding more and it worked with 32gb
What do you think about the laptop especially the battery?
Does the battery drain fast?
A gaming laptop will always drain fast if you're gaming on it

My cat cute right???

Does it have Mux switch?
I think it does
It does, the last gen doesn't
It has both a MUX switch and Advanced Optimus.
can i upgrade the ram to 32gb (16+16)?
What I see for the 15APH8 is up to 16 max, two 8 GB or one 16 GB.
you can swap it out yourself
@@ruffethereal1904 You are correct, you cannot upgrade this to 32GB :( I am stuck with this machine and now have to return with 20% restocking fees

Good question, this is probably slightly cheaper depending on where you're from.
I didnt get a free mouse with mines😢
That's a bummer
Is this the king in this price range ?
These days a lot of brands are very competitive but I'd say this is top 3.
