- After some legal issues that are now ironed our, I am now the official owner of one of the bikes I had been doing some work on. There isn't much left to do before this old gem is back on the road!
So before the actual work to get it finished up starts, I wanted to put together something quick to let you all know what was going on, and what to expect in the future.
Thanks for watching! Please subscribe!
I have 4 of these 3 are for parts
We need to talk!
How far are you from Arizona? Are you on Instagram? I own a 1982 XJ650RJ Seca and a 2008 FZ1. Looking for a 80’s FZ600 and a FZ750.
Yes I'm on ig... @1motomedic
I'm picking up a 88 fz600 tomorrow! In Ontario Canada
I got another question for you. The fz600 I have I need a new stator/generator. But I have a 1987 fz700 alternator. Is it possible to use that instead? It bolts up just need a way to connect it.
I would try cross referencing the original part numbers. If they are the same, then you're good. If not... then you may want to locate a better option. Bolt patterns don't necessarily mean exact same parts. One might have a higher or lower output and amperage/voltage.
@@MotoMedic they both send out 12 volts, the only thing I found out is I would have to make an adapter. I'm pretty sure the generator is spun by reverse threads, and the alt is a spline set up.
I found a awesome motorcycle that needs a LOT of TLC and work but I am too poor to afford a motorcycle.
Hi do you still have this bike? Can I dream of the possibility of maybe even owning it ??????
Yes I have it. No it's not for sale, sorry ;)
@@MotoMedic Hi! aw okay, figured i give it a shot haha, First off great videos and thank you for responding to my post! I actually purchased a project 1986 fz600 as well. It was basically the stock frame with motor with a suzuki gxr front fork and suzuki sidearm. This is my first ever project, i have found a bunch of parts on ebay as well. I was wondering if perhaps you could offer me some expertise and knowledge with your restore. Any tips/suggestions are welcome, i plan on restoring it with mostly stock parts as well, but do you think there are some parts such as the front fork or suspension components that might actually work better since its been 32 years, and/or any parts of the engine/transmission or electrical that might improve the performance ?
* i meant swapping modern components with stock that fit and provide better performance.
@@teeebone07 I would spend my money and time on suspension so that it handles as best as possible. These old air cooled 4-cylinders didn't pump out a lot of horsepower anyway. And making them produce a lot more makes them less reliable, so it's a trade off.
what happened to the honda shadow?
I sold it to a guy that fell in love with it and rode it into the sunset.
@@MotoMedic good to hear that hahaha
