Having the wheelie bar so close to the ground is definitely the problem on why the car is not going straight/loosing control. I did the same thing with my Xmax and my friend at the time made me a wheelie bar and we had it bent down/to close to the ground like yours and it was a disaster. So I decided to bend the wheelie bar up, to give the truck more play/flex when taking off/stepping on the gas and it worked perfectly. When you hit the gas the trucks weight distribution is going to naturally shift towards the back, so when you restrict/limit the rear shocks from going down to a certain limit, that's the side effect(loosing control)💯💯💯
Hahahahahaha that was AWESOME!!!! Your commentary was to funny!!! Hell yes put some street tires on and send her!!!🤘🤘🤘
Thanks JD!! It was insane in person!! Imma have to fit some street tires in the budget!
Been looking for a super durable shell for my stampede and suggestions?
The one I’m running! Proline brute bash armor. 4+ years later and it works like new. I sold the car last year so idk what the condition is rn
Giving me ideas for my Stampede!
I'm thinking, softer shocks, and maybe a set of those aluminum hub, rubber tires for the wheelie-bar. I notice that the rubber wheels on the upgradedd wheelie bar add a bit a stability, especially if the shocks are soft, and the body is sitting low. Although, I have never went for a speed run, so I am interested in how the softer suspension would interact with the high-end, with the center of gravity being lower, it is a plus, but I am not certain about how the soft springs would alter the traction of the tires.
I think that the softer setup would make it handle worse because it would have more body roll. That’s why I have a stiffer setup rn. I think a short travel setup would be beneficial to limit the amount on body roll, hopefully to make it go straight. A longer wheelie bar will keep the front end under control too, mine worked good I think for the time that it was still in tact lol. The main problem is wheelies, and I can’t go straight lol. If I can figure that out I think I could do it.
@@traxrc The most stable setup I have found for myself, was to let the body sit so low, that it is scraping the ground at any downforce at all. The wheelie bar is acting as a third set of wheels, as the rubber wheels of the wheelie bar are in hard contact with the asphalt before I even give any throttle. (the rubber over bearings does help)
I will take note of your methods and see how they work with mine. Although, I have to point out that I have no experience with such high speeds as you are producing. I am only just learning to use the throttle to steer the model. For me, this is just a beneficial conversation, and I am of course speculating. Thanks for the vid and the insight. You have pointed me in a direction that I was not interested in, until I saw your trial.
What you do is what I was going for as I thought it would work but I need to test more. I think we just need to test more in general 😂
Within the first road scene image, I instantly know exactly what "country road" you were referring to..... you obviously love camping 😅 my family camped there/ had a spot for over 30 years. (Tell Sue I said hi!)
It’s a small world I guess! Yes I definitely love camping and have been at Condits for at least 10 years and love it there.
Mine acts the same way. I have just about the same setup just haven’t changed the diffs to xo-1 gears.
XO-1 gears r clutch
You can throw a hoss chassis on it so it’s a little longer so it can keep the nose down and maybe put on a drag slash wheeliebar may help too.
Honestly I dont think those will help the stability, which is the main problem. Imo I need street tires and an "alignment" to reduce the play in the suspension.
@@traxrc An alignment will for help, if that is what it needs. But, longer and wider stance, is always more stable. Wider stance might sacrifice top speed, but those are the variables to work with.
An alignment is definitely needed, idk how much wider I could go bc that would affect the steering and it would have a lot of scrub steer.
please tell me where you got the go pro mount and id if it works for 2wd
Just look up GoPro sticky mounts. They work for anything. 2wd vs 4x4 doesn’t matter at all.
I did a similar thing with an old stampede 4x4 VXL. Switched to bighorn oil dampers Lousi MT Pioneer 2.8" tires after burning the old velion and ecs I bought a Hobbywing EZ run 3660SL Black engine 4000kv Max 10 combo with ECS. New pinion for 5mm axel 38 pin and rest original except everything switched to heavy duty. I just tried it out the straight was wet and it's a small speed bump so not ideal. I did it the old way by timing and distance. Had a few nice 65mph runs while tires was warm but as soon as they got cold they started to balloon. I estimate this to be 85% of what it can do so around 75mph in good conditions. Sweden do suck during autumn/winter. Thought some of the mods could give ideas. I'll replace the stampede chassie plate for a hoss and a hoss drivshaft next for better stability. Oh and I used a 7000mAh 80C Li-Po. I will also order some GPS thing to get accurate speed. Might make a video.
Nice! I bet it rips with the 4000kV motor. Seems like a lot of people have issues with the VXL. Not me though, mine have never had an issue. I've had three, and only one was rebuild after years of abuse. Do you think a Slash 4x4 LCG chassis would be better than the Hoss? I think that it would have more of a beneficial change.
@@traxrc Hi and yes it rips 😊 Right now I'm trying to adjust the dampers i filled some oil and testing softer spring settings. I haven't looked at the slash chassie I was thinking of getting the extra legnth from Hoss chassie but I will take your advice into consideration. The biggest issue now are actually the tires getting cold very fast and loose grip. I have about 5 min to get a good run. The speed bump is somewhat tricky but it's kind of gratifying to se how nice the dampers swallow the jump. The original velion was ok but something strange happened. ESC caught fire and the engine e lost the magnetism. Really strange. I found some other Lousie wheels that are a bit higher about 8% and would in theory make it a bit quicker. More of a stadium truck tire for tarmac. Speed runs get more and more tricky with the wet conditions so we'll see. Nice that you apriciared my input and as I said I will have a look at the slash chassie. I still want it to look as a truck so no small buggy wheels that some use on the 2WD stampedes. It should look and function like the original stamped and at the same time be lightning fast. I will inform in this channel how the project evolves and I might make a video in the spring if the Russians didn't blow us upp. I'll try mail some pics for you when I'm happy with it.
Right on! I’d love to rate it in a video when it’s done! Heck, send it now so I can show off the build!
@@traxrc Need to buy a decent video camera and clean the build up. Might teat it down and make a video showing the changes. I promise I will atleast send fotos to your mail. Maybe a cellphone teaser video 😉
Sounds good!
I got 18/54 gearing what’s yours
I sold this stamped a long time ago but I remember I had 9/54 but with the spiral cut diff gears that had a faster ratio.
COOL! Wish I was there! I feel like I always miss stuff that is cool like that🤦♂️
Lol this was filmed like a month ago too! I don't even know what you were doing lol.
Mines seems to stay real straight something is messed up, that home made wheely bar is prob making it veer
Nah my suspension and steering is just clapped. There is a lot of play.
What parts you recommend I seen another go 115 on UA-cam
Idk bro 🤷♀️ I just did this for fun. I rly don’t know much about speed runs and going that fast.
@@traxrc do you have a video on your upgrades?
Not a recent one. I do have a playlist for it though. I’m pretty good at telling my viewers in videos about new parts if I didn’t make a video on it so you should be able to see all of the parts on it if you watch the playlist.
What’s the gearing
I sold this stamped a long time ago but I remember I had 9/54 but with the spiral cut diff gears that had a faster ratio.
How do you like that ProLine Bash Body? Can you paint it?
I absolutely love this body because it is so strong. It’s not even comparable to the stock Stampede 4x4 body. But, you cannot paint it because it is a solid white plastic instead of the traditional clear lexan. If you wanted to, I guess you could spray paint the outside of the body, but it wouldn’t last long and would probably chip off pretty quick.
@@traxrc So I see that you must have had that Pro-Line body for at least 7 months, since that is how long ago the vid was published. I am thinking about getting one too, but my concern is that paying that money for something that is just going to break. In your experience, is the price worth the durability? Does it last long enough to justify the price?
100%. It is a million times better than the stock body. I’d get the Proline lid skids as well because the weakest part of the body is the tailgate and if doing a lot of street driving and rollovers it wears down fairly quickly. Also you need the Proline extended body mounts and 20mm long screws for the thumbscrews so that they don’t pull out.
Speed running you need a radio with dual rate for steering
Not necessary, but I can see how that would help!
The fastest on UA-cam.....Really WhipGetters Would like to race!!
I know it's not the fastest... it's called click bait.
I figured bro maybe we need to Race??
How
The video under this is a 4x4 stampede hitting 122 & 125mph from six years ago lol
😳
I don’t understand why u couldn’t go straight even a little bit
It's a basher 🤣. Parts are worn out and beat lol. Suspension has a lot of play.
@@traxrc set your steering rate..get some control for your video
Trust me is was set. It's a basher bud... I've been beating on it for 4 years, so yes it don't go straight. There is too much play in the suspension.
Dude needs TSM
nah just needs suspension tuning and belted tires
My 6 year old stampede 4x4 vxl is coming for ya lol
Lol! How fast is yours!
@@traxrc I just hit 63mph with a 17t pinion gear I just put a 21t and upgraded to 4s but I don't have the 4s battery yet I'm gonna do a gps speed test tomorrow on 3s to see if I can hit 70mph
That's sick!
I subscribed too your channel thanks for the 12 o clock entertainment lol
Thanks dude!
Can you please give me the Part number of this small black body protectors?
They are the Proline Lid Skids.
@@traxrc thanks 🙏🤙🏻
No problem!
What is the gearing
I went over it in the video
@@traxrc what is it
It’s in the video lol. I don’t remember off the top of my head
@@traxrc ok
@@traxrc what are the driveshaft’s you use
Clickbait. Not fast at all.
kinda clickbait kinda not
Where's your vid?
You talking to me or the other guy?
@@traxrc the other guy. He talked trash about your vid so where's his?
Haters lol
Mine has gone over 100
Seems sketchy 😂
Don't click bait people wtf was this. Your car is cool but l2drivenoob
I put a question mark so it technically wasn’t clickbait…
Fr i got also the fastest stamped on UA-cam
This is not the fastest it’s called clickbait
O
Find a wider road,no proof here of that speed at all,and take some more driving courses,80mph stop sniffing glue
3 things, 1 the width of the road doesn’t matter, 2 there’s a thing called clickbait and the gopro speed setting wasn’t working for proof, 3 I was standing on the roof of a golf cart let’s see drive and keep ur balance at the same time😂 and there’s a ? After 80 for a reason I know it didn’t go 80 that’s dumb🤦♂️
That really sucked
U must have watched the wrong video then🤷♂️
