Looks perfect for kids or folks just getting into the hobby. There’s a market for that, not every RC needs to be crazy powered despite most UA-cam reviewers opinions.
350+ for an entry level rc car that they force you to buy their battery and charger which the cheapest 2s lipo and charger they have is 120 after tax. You're in it for close to 500$ that's not great entry level price. Lol.
@@cd-pu5uvyou don’t have to use their batteries, just use adapters. They’re only a few bucks and a 2s system isn’t going to be pulling enough current for it to be a problem.
Got my 4yr old daughter this until, 350 new. Perfect truck on training mode for her to learn, but yet fast enough for me to enjoy. Probably the most durable unit in my fleet.
2:37 ahh never gets old! Allen!!!😂..... Am i wrong but I've literally never seen a brushless motor that has opening slots in it like a brushed motor. That's odd
I got the kit version in 2019 to get back into the hobby. It was a fun and easy first build and I would say the brushed titan setup seemed quicker than that. Not quick by any stretch but better than that brushless and better for flips. I have since pretty much wrecked it so it's awaiting its fate depending what is salvageable when I strip it down.
You mean it's got the extra "HD" 😂 stuff on that they should all have had as standard years ago.!! I'm always going to mention my Slash snapping a driveshaft on THE SECOND LIPO.!!! 😂 😂 😂 😂
@@MCLERC88 yeah but other brand put the new parts on the next version in one go traxxas will buy one set of upgrades on the car then 6 months later then will release another new version including all the other upgrades that they had 6 months ago
For your shock shaft problem put the Traxxas upgraded titanium shock shafts on it I had that problem on my slash but those have seemed to have fixed the problem.
I've had one for about 5 yrs now. Mine goes faster as I have an upgraded Castle Sidewinder motor/ESC combo, upgraded steering servo, and a few other upgrades (like Trencher wheels). I believe you can get a set of Proline shocks for this, but they're expensive. There are also various brands, including generic, big bore shocks. I put heavier shock oil in it and made the front not only stiffer but also slightly dipped forward, which improves turning radius at high speeds and prevents rollover.
I never liked the old version of the Stampede because of how the body sits, but I definitely like how this looks better. You're not wrong, when something is underpowered, it can't do as much damage, but I think that's the point here. Something that's durable for children because it's overbuilt and underpowered (except for the shocks). I'd like to see them give the same HD treatment to the 3s Stampede.
You did an excellent job editing the video, The transition from one skatepark to the other is excellent. You gave it a very good test. It looks like a great truck. The radio Traxxas puts in their basic trucks is horrible. Every cheap radio in the world has the ability to easily change the speed with a switch on the transmitter. Keep up the good work.
8:10 That was sick, mate! You got me calling you "mate" and I'm from Texas. It feels weird calling you "bro." 😂 TA Rival MT10 V2 brushless cannot be beat as a 1/10 scale basher. I also have 2 of the TA Pro4 SC10 Brushless which are short coarse basher beasts. I prefer them over Traxxas any day. Plus with the SC10 I can race the club races on the 1/8 track with it when not bashing.

So I was thinking this or even the integy i10T truck. Just something I'm willing to let sit on a shelf more than it's driven.
Everything I’ve seen is that these handle gearing up a bit more than the vxl did. With the 2wds they actually compensate for the kv difference. The vxl 2wd came with 86/19 and the new bl 2s is 86/21. It’s possible traxxas was a bit conservative with the gearing on the 4x4s as they’re all Smaller pinions than vxl.
Looks a lot different than my 2015ish VXL Stampede 4x4. It's a BEAST on 3s. I had to upgrade to metal CVD's because the stock pieces were junk. GTR shocks are a nice upgrade from the stock plastic ones. I upgraded most of what I could with Traxxas aluminum bits as well. I need to make a space to work on my RC stuff again so I can dig it out and do the Slash 4x4 chassis swap for the longer wheelbase since it likes to wheelie a lot with the stock chassis.

I like your reviews - thank you. Would love to see driving trucks in the dirt - I have zero desire to use my rolling vehicles in skate parks and similar places. I understand the enjoyment of doing that but it's just not my thing. To me, the thrill of sliding on dirt and roosting just never gets old. I'm not a huge Tra**as fan but they usually do have parts available and it seems like the 2S 1/10th scale trucks are less likely to experience down time due to more damage from higher speeds so, for newbs the 2S vehicles seem to offer a lot of bang for the buck and if the newbs have successful, enjoyable experiences with 2S trucks, then maybe they will be more likely to stay in the hobby and progress to higher performing vehicles. BTW, I have an older HPI Ken Block Ford that has never had a battery connected to it - your videos are inspiring me to take that beauty off the shelf and rip with it - thank you (and sorry to ramble - ha).

You should do a review on the Stampede 4x4 VXL. It comes with the 540xl motor witch is the same motor traxxas puts in the Maxx and runs on 3s batteries. I don't think it's very fair of you to say that it's slow without looking into the version with the bigger motor.

Wow Phil, that's spooky 👻. I picked up a 2nd hand older version traxxas stampede 4x4 vxl brushless off my friend last night. My first 1/10 basher. His upgraded it. Can't wait to go yo local skate park 😊. Thanks so much for your honest reviews.👍
I was going to Buy one of these but its not as big as i thought . And only 2s so i opted to buy a cheaper brushed MT-10 and put a spare motor esc in so it has cost me so much .
A lot of people don’t realize but this new BL2 system is a direct replacement for the old titan 12t motor and will Perform kinda of similarly. The reason for that is because Traxxas wanted to keep it within reason for all the race spec series here in the states. Also it runs significantly cooler so you can gear it up to the fucking moon. Honestly if you paired it with a good 3s ECS and got the gearing right. It would be a kick ass setup

I have the OG stampede 4x4 vxl and it has been such a turd to fix everything on it has been upgraded and I'm still not happy with it just cruising in my back yard on 2s no jumps and something still always fails
Stock Traxxas shocks are definitely soft, put a bend in every single one on my slash with very Mild bashing. Replaced them with the gtr shocks and they are far sturdier.
I'm super frustrated... I bought my Traxxas and 6 months later these platforms came out! I would have definitely bought the BL-2s rustler 4x4. Mine is now upgraded severely and would definitely be considered better than the BL-2s but... with the Heavy Duty Parts I definitely wouldn't have had to spend as much to replace broken parts with aftermarket stuff. As much as I think this platform is a great entry level style platform I'm just bummed that I didn't wait just a little longer before pulling the trigger😂

Please review the new MN 82 Toyota crawler 1/12 and please compair MN 999s....😊 thanks
A lot of people don’t realize but this new BL2 system is a direct replacement for the old titan 12t motor and will
Perform kinda of similarly. The reason for that is because Traxxas wanted to keep it within reason for all the race spec series here in the states. Also it runs significantly cooler so you can gear it up to the fucking moon. Honestly if you paired it with a good 3s ECS and got the gearing right. It would be a kick ass setup
Would have to convert the motor plugs too since those are now proprietary.
🙋🏻♂️ Greetings from Holland
I like how you let show us the real thing like how it is 💁🏻♂️
It looks like you never try your self to be a perfect or less making foults driver or so. (sorry for my not to be very good 🤭 Inglis spelling hahaha... Oké en for now I will say my goodbye to you and and your family ✊🏽
Thanks for your hard work again Phil. Gr Massimo
Great video man lol 😂I love that Alan meme 🤣😂
Every time the meerkat is in a video, I almost die of laughter.
Haha
I used my Stampede kit 4x4 and modded it to "new" version, just changed towers and chassis for longer, ne body with reinforcements, that's all.
You impressed me with the little truck
I am MAd.... You threw that WPL, and i jut am getting into RC's again after seeing them. I am Crying. No really though, i am JACKED excited to get my First RC in 35 years. Waiting to get $25 more then Order my First WPL C24-1. Yayyyyy Might start a new channel to record Trail Rides.
Needs to be faster, but it took a kicking- it can stay😂‼️👍👍🦾🦾🤘🤘
Awesome transition from skate parks !! Send that edit to Danny McCaskill
Haha… cheers dude
I have the OG stampede 4x4 vxl and it has been such a turd to fix everything on it has been upgraded and I'm still not happy with it just cruising in my back yard on 2s no jumps and something still always fails
The amount of work this man puts in and love for the hobby should have way more subs!
Thanks dude… it’s been hard graft the last couple of months
its now my routine to wait all day for these videos to come out
Haha… nice 😊 Thanks
Also tape up the vent holes on the motor or it will get rocks in it and lock up and you can't take them apart
Stock Traxxas shocks are definitely soft, put a bend in every single one on my slash with very Mild bashing. Replaced them with the gtr shocks and they are far sturdier.
Still think the best cheap 1/10 monster truck is the hpi jumpshot mt flux
That's a beast alright. Going for 200 euro in Germany. It's 2wd but can reach 80-90kmh!
Big part of the fun is the upgrading. I'm sure what you built is much more impressive
I like this Traxxas truck..do u have any recommendations for my first RC?
@@eljoe8462 I'd suggest a Rival MT10, super durable, good price, and quick on 3s.
@davida8407 thanks man I'm gonna look into that.
In the land down under we only drive six Litre V8’s with six speeds utes only Traxxas survived our rugged terrain
