- For the #bettywhitechallenge we are fundraising for a piggy paradise!
Hazel has been with us for many years after being one of our first rescued as an unwanted pet pig. In her old age she has developed cataracts and is likely mostly blind.
Although she gets on well with her pig herd, she doesn’t get as much food as she needs and we have to substitute this by hand feeding her. This is difficult as all of the pigs want some!
In a piggy paradise with the other oldies, we can ensure Hazel gets enough food and a specialist diet, without struggling to fend off the younger and stronger pigs.

The Betty White Memorial Piggy Paradise 🌴
As many of our followers have expressed that they would like to donate to us in memory of Betty White, we have set up this fundraiser to build a tranquil enclosure for the senior piggies of the sanctuary. This will be complete with weatherproof shelters, durable fencing and plenty of fruit trees for shade and food as well as a commemorative plaque for Betty White in memory of her work, advocating for animals.
The enclosure will be built once the sanctuary purchase has been completed.
We will also be naming one of our pigs “Betty”!

Barry will be feeling the love, I guarantee it!.He will be feeling like the luckiest donkey in Spain. I've seen so many sad donkeys, unloved ones badly treated ones, this is just so joyful.

AS those painful memories of past trauma surface he looks away, walks away, and realizes nothing hurtful is happening to him. It will take time, but he's allowing you a glimpse into his heart which has been badly hurt. Give him time, he's learning to trust you. God Bless Him & You

I think Barry is camera shy, and sadly has been mistreated by people in his past. He is loving being with you and learning about good people and loved, being cared for and cherished, and his trust in you is growing by the minute. I don’t know who picks up the music for your videos, but this was spot on. We never know all the heartaches our rescues have endured, we just try to make them feel secure, wanted, loved. Your mission statement is expressed perfectly here, your desire to give these beings the love and security they need to heal for a life without fear.
That’s quite an ambitious goal, but that’s the perfect goal. The drama of the music paired with the content of this video is remarkable. Your videos always provide comedy, welled paired with the emotional drama of the music. You laugh, you cry, you laugh.
