Anita Baker with a unique, smooth soulful voice! Amazing!
My favorite female artist. I loved seeing her on Mother's Day. A Class All Her Own: Miss Anita Baker is one of the most gifted, elegant, professional, dynamic, artists I've ever seen. She was better than before and her voice is better than ever. The (new) sound system at the arena tried but could not keep up with her and she patiently waited until they got it right. Graceful, impeccable and unapologetic for expecting excellence. Anita Baker's band, background singers, dancers, everybody looked and sounded first class. Anita gave a 2 hour performance with an encore, asking for requests from the audience. We didn't want to leave. At times, we just sat there in awe, watching this little lady with that grand, beautiful voice. All in all, one of the best shows I've seen in years and one of my top 3 ever. A Beautiful Mother’s Day

Anita Baker on of the few artist that sound better live then on CD.. The emotion she sings with; the way her entire body moves and sings with rhythm.... One of a KIND!!!

Maybe one day they will have a new young artist come on the music scene that will be the new Anita Baker and and make jazzy love songs popular with young people again, for young folks anyway, because thankfully, we experienced Anita Baker as she became a superstar back in the day, and new generations are discovering and rediscovering her these days. Can’t wait to see her live in Memphis in November 2023!

I was 22 when this album came out and this is right around the same time Sade's 1st album came out ! Couldn't run to the record store fast enough to buy both those albums ! I have every Sade album ever produced ! I have 600 C d's in my music collection , If someone told me I had to get rid of every CD except my top 10 favorites ,This album Rapture would be in that top 10 ! I'll chop your hands off if you try to take away any of my Anita Baker or Sade Cd's !

This song and singer was a great choice. Anita Baker was a wonderful Jazz Pop singer during the 1980s. Bad management since the 1990s has kept Baker from becoming a bigger music star than she should be today.
What a voice ! I went out and bought this CD as soon as I heard this song on FM radio. She is a class act for sure and has the voice of an angel. Great reaction. Take care.

This album (Rapture)was so hot when it was released back in 1986, everybody had it, and everybody was playing it everywhere you went. And everybody loved it so much that they couldn’t get enough, so we all went out and got her first album( The Songstress from 1983), so she had two albums at the top of the R&B charts .

Hi Steven, Anita passed away in January 2023. I believe It was cancer. So very sad. When I first heard Anita sing, I couldn't stop listening! I'm the kind of person that's in love with love & she puts It out on fire. Even now, I remember how I felt when listening to her & wanting to love & be loved by someone. Well, that love never came but a girl can still dream, can't she❣
