      Hopefully one day I’ll have a video in that playlist titled “I finished writing my book” 😂 Thank you for watching and (hopefully) enjoying! 🤍

    would you bring in a friend/editor/2nd pair of eyes and a mouth to read some of what you have, and ask questions. Having someone to bounce ideas/discussion off of really helps. It's a collaborative, team thing that activates a different part of your brain and can allow you to approach your current beat of the story from a different perspective. Plus working in team dynamics is exhilarating.

    I plan on starting some Ana Huang books and finishing some Peter Swanson and Paula Hawkins books. Meanwhile, writing my debut novel.

    Randomly got recommended your video and I love your personality and how honest you are with yourself.
    Warning: Incoming unsolicited advice from a stranger.
    If you find yourself capping out at 200-300words due to idea creation (or lack thereof) then plug headphones, go for a walk, and critically think about what you’ve written and where you can take the story. The mix of a monotonous physical activity allows for great mental focus.
    I also have a routine for when I write that triggers my brain to say focus. Every day around 630/7pm-9pm I make sure I ate, put my headphones on, Spotify dark fantasy playlist, and lock in.
    Best of luck!!

      This advice is precisely what I needed! Thank you! Also I will give you a crisp high five and a piece of gum for a link to the Spotify playlist you mentioned.

    Around this time last year, I started my first novel. I regret not writing an outline for it though because when i came back to it after two distracting months, the story had entirely left my head. 25K words gone to waste 😭

    300 words every 6 days ain't that bad though. About how much I do too (it's bad)

    Can't wait for your book to come out! Do you mind sharing what it's about?❤️

    Same here Gina, I'm a pantser but outlining makes finishing a draft a much faster ordeal😅😂

    • @geenahreads
      @geenahreads  Місяць тому +1

      Being a pantser is far more fun but sometimes an outline or two is necessary if you want to finish your draft before you die 😂

  • @CookyeDough

    Also, I'm both a plotter and a pantser and I can say for sure "fuckin' around to find out" is the best way to "happy write". Meaning, being happy with what you're writing. But that's just my opinion... Which is right, never wrong, trust me on that. Plotters are not wrong... Just not as right.
