This was such a lovely video!! I loved all of your insight - revising is my personal fave, and I love all of the takeaways you've had. 💗and (you are an author!!! you wrote a book!!! 🤗)
this video has been on my "watch later" list all week, enjoyed this a lot!! i am waiting for all these realizations to hit me once i'm in revisions, and it is such a good tip to note where your strong points are so we can remind ourselves of them when we need it most!! and making sure to read other books while doing revisions is also something i'm going to keep in my back pocket. thank you for sharing your experiences 💛
Great video!! Please take my comment as encouragement, but you are an author. There was a portion of the video where you said that you were not an author yet. Technically, you are. You are writing a book. You are putting in the hardwork that comes with writing a book. To me… that’s what an author is. Speak as if you’ve already arrived. Can’t wait to see how the finished product turns out. Thanks for having us on your journey Keep doing what you’re doing, Ande 💯💯💯
@@enigmatowles 🥹🥲 Thank you, that is such an encouraging thing to hear! I appreciate that. I will start calling myself and author from here on out, you have my word lol🫡
I started writing in 2008 (right after I finished Breaking Dawn and decided I was finally going to write my own book, lol), and I have definitely improved my craft over the years. But I still go through periods where I feel that I'm a terrible writer and why am I still even trying? It's verrrrrrry annoying. So I'm loving watching you on this journey, and seeing your updates and progress. I'll be thrilled to add you to my shelves one day!
By my definition you’re an author already like someone else said! Maybe not be a published one yet but still one for sure ❤ I literally need to keep hearing other writers say no words are wasted until it’s drilled into my mind.
Ooh...what if I'm not as good a judge of what's good or bad words as I think I am? I resonated with that. I love how you said basically that if we can do it with other books, we can do it with our own. Also love everything you said about perfect words vs. finding the words that are true to you and your story.
When it comes to writing as a career, time is your friend, not your enemy. It's great that you've moved away from expecting perfection ... one generation's perfect is another generation's "what the hell is this dinosaur shit", so whatever version of the story you're happy with will become the best version at whatever point the most people feel the same. If that makes sense.
