Thank you everyone for your amazing support of Hawktober 2019! 😁🛹 QUICK NOTE: Don't let the runtime spook you. The video has been broken down into chunks so it's simple to jump in and out for multiple viewing sessions OR let it play in the background while you shred some classic THPS! But if you plan to watch the full 2.5 hours in a single sitting... bring snacks! 🍿
I definitely did not expect this! I said i would like to see longer episodes and... Well I got what I asked for v: I haven't seen the entire thing yet and I don't want to skip to end. But I'd like to see what's in store for next year or if there'll be something. Also, I picked up THUG and I'd like to try it soon. I think my uncles had THUG2 and I have a demo of the original THPS, but that's all Tony Hawk I've tried... For now...
Mama Mia 😂👍🏻 I knew you had something big planned, I called it lol. Still it surprised me! this 3rd Tony hawktober special has been amazing all the way through. ♥️♥️

What's also interesting to note is the direction of the run in Marseille. Jak mentions in his video that he always turns to the left from the starting point, wallrides the building, jumps off to grind the dumpsters and goes on to score in the bowl area, eventually looping around the course. This is the exact same route I have learned back during my first experiences with the THPS2 demo, way back in 2000, and it's still what I do whenever I play this level. I find this really interesting, given that I'm from Poland, and Jak is from the land down under. It seems to me that there is a kind of "natural flow" in this level (and maybe others) that influenced players all around the world simultaneously.
@@PanekPL that was also my line through the level - it's testament to the level design that it was able to subtly move players towards these objects and understand the relationships between them. I feel Marseilles is overlooked too much in THPS lists. I put in countless hours in this level on a PC demo disk before getting the full game. Swinging Utters Five Lessons Learned synced perfectly with the 2 minute time limit - everything felt in perfect harmony.
Loved it! Amazed that you get through all 165, and have clearly spent time getting to know them all well enough to rank them! Super fun video, Jak! Sincerely, the proud designer of numbers 132, 105, 89, 70, 63, 58, 45, 40, 39, 16, 10, and 5. ...and I definitely apologize for that Kona slalom. ;-p
Number 63 san Diego is an amazing map thank you sir,, the mid section is one if not the best acid drop area you can perform all series I loved playing that map
@@xmikerx666 Yeah, I clearly didn't step back to ask "Is this thing too hard?" It was a new mechanic at the time (the slalom/gates goal type), and the snake run seemed like such a perfect place for it! But even when I watch those videos, I wonder what I was thinking. I should have left it to a series of much simpler/wider gates. That 3rd pass is brutal. Otherwise, I loved designing that level. One of the more organic/curvy levels that I was able to do (not everything was a clean, straight line).
When I was a freshman at college, I bought old copies of THUG and THUG 2 to procrastinate during finals week. Get to Manhattan level and realize I'm skating in the plaza of the building my final was taking place.
@@mondaybear21 well, maybe he do a hawktober next year for the spin-offs (Extreme Skate Adventure, Matt Hoffman's Pro BMX 1 and 2, and Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer)
"164 is ....Tokyo" -heart attack- "..in Tony Hawk's Motion, of course." Well I still had a heart attack and my lawyer is going to be in contact with you shortly.
Your Tony Hawk tober videos aren’t getting the recognition that they deserve. I really like how you got the fonts and style to match each game’s aesthetic and you actually played the games and did research
I like how you hold no bias of the level considering the game that hosts it, rather you review based on level design itself. Anyone else would've probably eliminated THPS5 within the first twenty levels. Very well thought out review
Thank you, that was a major goal here. THPS5 is a bad game, no doubt about it. But the levels themselves are mostly mediocre-average in quality, with a few exceptions. A bad game overall makes any positives feel a lot worse than they actually are. Cheers!
@@SquareEyedJak True that. Any level is probably about 30% the level design itself and 70% the way it's presented. At least that's how I see it. THPS5 presented otherwise pretty decent levels poorly with the substandard gameplay that it's difficult to look past that and appreciate the design at face value. If you can do that, it's a lot more enjoyable than what it's perceived to be
I'd add in possibly why Pro Skater 4 levels never get redone; it doesn't look very colorful or lively, but GOD they are mechanically exquisite and smooth. If they got a facelift or touch up they would've re-appeared much more often.
It also reinforced that some games (ahem THUG2) had some excellent levels which were overshadowed by the game's silliness or bad mechanics. Always annoyed me when critics put THUG2 really low on tony hawk rankings. I've found the game one of the most replayable due to the level design.
Same! I don’t agree with number 1. Also number 6 got old quick I would have replaced it with the cruise ship level way further down the line. Barcelona should have been placed higher in my opinion as well.
I can't believe I sat through 2 and a half hour of Tony Hawk level reviews... But I think that speaks to the level of the work here, it never got dull, so big kudos!
I am flummoxed by the dedication that went into scripting, recording, compiling, editing, and rendering this bloody video. This is the type of video that takes a team to orchestrate but I commend you for the immense effort. Cheers!
Watching again in 2024 as well as the entire Hawktober playlist. Love your perspective on the games that were basically my childhood Keep up the great work
I really appreciate how you didnt half ass any of the tracks. You really went though and provided a detailed fair analysis for each track. Like you actually remembered small detailed things about every single track, and ranked them. Amazing job! Must of been extremely difficult!
I decided to take all the unique levels from each respective game and average them out to see how good the levels are in the game overall Rules: Ports must have at least 3 unique levels Levels that appear multiple times only count for the game it appeared in originally, unless a game changes it enough for another appearance I will get the average by grouping all the levels together and dividing it by the amount of levels in the game If there's a decimal I will round down if it's below a .5 and round up if it's a .5 or above THE RANKINGS #17- Tony Hawk Motion- despite being the third game to be eliminated, with 3 of the four levels appearing in the first 10 spots, the surprisingly ok Dubai level couldn't save this game from being the worst in overall level design and the worst game in general #16- Sk8land- despite being the first game to be eliminated Sk8land managed to not have the worst levels overall although just barely, and that doesn't make Sk8land's levels any good #15- THPS3 GBC: Despite the limitations of the Gameboy Color, Pro Skater managed to outshine actually managed to outshine the GBA and the DS and I have to give props for that #14- Downhill Jam GBA- Man what's with these weakest port games with their best levels taking place in france #13- Underground GBA & THPS2X- The first of a few ties in this ranking with THUGGBA having more consistent mediocrity with THPS2X being half awful, ⅓ mediocre, and ⅙ decent. Despite Tampa by far being the best level we've seen yet, with half the levels appearing in the first 15 spots the levels overall couldn't be saved #12- Tony Hawk Shred- one of the most split set of tony hawk levels with half the levels being complete and utter trash being listed of during the first 15 with the other half appearing in the latter half of later. Which leads to everything averaging out to mediocre #11- Tony Hawk Ride- Despite this game's best levels not outshining the best of shred. The fact that it's worst appeared just outside the first 15 helps propel this game slightly above shred #10- THPS5- if Wild West, Underground, and Mountain were never made, this game would be a lot lower on the list. But since they exist they manage to propel this games overall levels from mediocre to decent. #9- Project 8: Honestly just a decent mix of levels with one unfortunate stinker #8- THPS1: I find it funny that a game made 2 decades ago has a mix of levels that can kick the shit out of current gen levels. But again, just a decent mix of levels with one unfortunate stinker #7- THPS2: again a good mix of levels brought down a bit by a few average levels #6- American Wasteland- I wonder how long it's gonna be before I can stop repeating myself #5- THPS4 & THUG2 Remix: Another tie with remix's 4 exclusive levels being consistently good while THPS4's levels being more spread out throughout with some average levels, decent levels, good levels, and even some amazing levels #4- Proving Ground- an incredibly strong run through the rankings with even the worst level in the game still being decent #3- Downhill Jam- Man who thought a racing spinoff could top most of the main games when it came to overall levels #2- Underground: Despite housing the two best levels in the whole franchise, this game barely missed out on having the best levels overall which I can only guess is because a few of the levels while still good, couldn't reach the gold tier top 50 #1- THPS3 & THUG2: Despite not having the absolute best levels in the franchise, these games had a strong run start to finish. With THPS3 having the latest start (excluding Remix) not showing up until spot #91 and 6 of the 10 levels in platinum tier. And while thug2 didn't have as strong as a start as THPS3 appearing at the end of the bottom 50. It still had a strong run, disappearing until spot #45 along with ⅔ of the levels in platinum tier. So to conclude although underground had the 2 best levels in the franchise, when it comes to overall levels Pro Skater 3 and Underground 2 take the crown. Superlative Awards: Worst Best Level: San Francisco #138 Sk8land Best Worst Level: Oil Rig #91 THPS3 Longest Absence: THUG2 #114-#46 Biggest range of level quality: THPS5 #148-#33 Smallest Range of level quality: THPS3 GBC #145-#124 Most Important Level: Freedom Plaza #69 Proving Ground Also here's a link to all the crap I wrote down if you want to see the number each game got overall or something else docs.google.com/document/d/1-yRmcuKzPudzV2b66LfEOvE7rE37STbfSgnLTOiv5Ds/edit?usp=drivesdk
This is a hell of a lot of effort for quantifying one man's opinion but it does help put things in perspective for the series. With the first 2 games setting the craze a light and THPS3 - THUG 2 making the series a gaming juggernaut, it only truly began to falter in its RoboModo and mobile platforms. Here's hoping that its latest entry will show the giant some respect for its tarnished but sizeable legacy.
Holy shit, this is gonna be awesome. This is literally a movie. I can't believe how much work you put into this series and every video you make in general, you are so underrated mate!
Thank you! Can be watched like a movie or in sessions. I've broken things up for smaller viewing sessions but it's also great to have in the background while playing some THPS!
I can't believe I actually sat through the entire video. To be honest, I did take breaks and placed bookmarks to return to later. But now I've finally reached the end. Bravo!
Dude this just reached over 100,000 views. Holy fuck mate I remember being early for this video and marathon it in one go it had like a few thousand views. lol this was well worth the insane effort mate. you're a proper legend.
Me: Gonna be late posting my Halloween video... Square Eyed Jack: Here's a new video every day for two weeks, oh, and a TWO AND A HALF HOUR LONG VIDEO TO TOP IT OFF. Incredible work, man. Been a blast going through your catalogue.
20:24 small correction: There's multiple tricks in the GBC tony hawk but they're hardly known and most players discover them on accident. The air tricks (A button) are: left or right - Indy up or down - Stalefish down-left - Japan Air down-up - Method right-down - Tailgrab As a bonus, and I had no clue about this until I looked it up, there were also grind tricks in the game. If you did similar button combos you could get even more points when grinding down-B - 50/50 grind left-right-B - Boardslide down-left-B - Smith
Oh, man...what an effort! The amount of time put into this video is borderline insane. Hugely thankful to be able to experience this, even though I didn't fully agree all the way (THPS2 Hangar is my #1 with THPS4 Alcatraz as a close #2). Well done!
Same, theirs just something about his videos that radiate passion, you can tell he loves this series greatly, I love to go back and watch some of the older tony hawktobers
So glad to see Underground on top. Hotter than Hell was actually my favorite level. Sure, there are plenty of other levels that I prefer for the skating aspect. But seeing Kiss perform and listening to the badass tunes while you skate..perfect. Like you said, the novel concept of the buggy was a lot more intriguing as a kid, but I can’t deny all the great memories as a kid shredding that level for its awesome grinds for hours.
Mall > Downhill Jam . By a landslide too. The mall flows so smoothly, with tons of different ways to combo from start to finish. There’s no area that feels too narrow. There’s no moments of having to force awkward landings to avoid bailing. Downhill Jam is pretty much the exact opposite. It doesn’t flow smoothly at all. There’s not many different ways to combo from start to finish. The majority of the level feels too narrow. And there’s tons of moments where you have to force awkward landings to avoid bailing. That’s all (: great video anyway dude. The dedication is A+ and it shows.
This is one of the best UA-cam videos I've ever seen in my life. Bravo all the game capture and editing must've taken an eternity. Great narration. Subscribed!
This feels like a movie of worst to best of Tony Hawk's Franchise What a long ride it has been And I always took piss and refill my meal when break time of this massive retrospective Thank You, Jak!
You know what man.. it’s been a rough week.. I just ordered some comfort food and look forward to eating it while watching this. So thank you 🙏 used to play these games when times were much simpler
# 48. College. For me this was my favourite level. And looking back on it I can see why, it's the most hidden skatepark within a real looking environment that you can literally combo around the map. In this video they didn't mention the Side alley with rails and 2 ramps where I would personally go for the highest possible scores. I'd love to see this map brought to the new game.
Aussie dude: "164 is Tokyo... Me: *GASP* This mans gonna hear an uproar from the THUG Pro community Aussie dude: in Tony Hawks motion of course." Me: *BAMBOOZLED IN AUSTRALIAN*
I havent played any Tony Hawk games in my entire life, but I still watched this video to support the immense effort that went into creating this video. Was super entertaining too!
This is a Tony Hawk overload I am easily one of the biggest fan of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series and what better UA-camr to make a 2 and 1/2 hour long video of Tony Hawk then you keep up the great work and I really hope it is another hawk Tober next year if not I hope there's something just as Kick-Ass!🙏🙏🙏 i love you bro no homo!
Dude, this was absolutely top form mate. An avid THPS player myself, this is a work of love and for sure, art. You have a subscriber and a big fan of the channel. Thank you for this truly awesome countdown!!!
I only played these games at friends' houses and at game stores and ive watched this video multiple times. You make it clear why everything is ranked how it is which makes it easy for me to understand having barely played em.
This video reminded me why i like Proving grounds so much. It wasnt the mechanics it was the maps. Despite the game being very wonky and repetitive it was always fun to skate around in that city. Thank you for this video :) PS: IM rewatching it a second time because its so well made
First video of yours I have seen and dayum. I gotta respect the grind. This must've taken forever and you can totally see the tons of work that went into the video. Great video, very informative, and makes me want to go back and play skater games.
When I was really young, I used to play this skating game on a friend's console and was obsessed with Huckjam Park from TH Shred. I couldn't remember the name for YEARS and I'm so happy I finally found it. Thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏
Incredible video. I don't think enough credit is given for the effort this must have taken to make and edit. An amazing journey through one of my favourite series. Crazy how I have completed most of these games, yet somehow there's about 70 levels I've never heard of before. However - in my opinion - Tokyo #4? Wise up!
I was just talking about this video on Twitter and it struck me that I never left a comment after I watched it (poor form I know) This is a fantastic video which I enjoyed every second of. The perfect example of why a super long video can be totally and utterly justified and engaging at every moment. Congrats to you man - this must have been a huge amount of effort to make and I hope all the rewards from it have made it worthwhile!
Despite only being #38 Cruise Ship seemed like by far the most fun and interesting course of the levels you covered. Plus the captain plot twist is mindblowing!
God damn, that's one hell of a finale. It's been one hell of a ride, and I'm not ashamed to admit I watched the entire video in one sitting. Now if you'll excuse me, I have the sudden urge to play some THUG Pro.
As most have probably already said, I had no idea I needed this video. OG Pro Skater and Underground made my childhood on PS2. Love that Ty the Tasmanian Tiger OST as well, pure childhood nostalgia right there
Honestly to the people in the comment's saying "Oh this should be ranked higher because it's based on an iconic location" or "Jak do you realised that this is a real life skate location?" being iconic does not always mean it's the best level because to me it's like World 1-1 in Super Mario Bros like sure it's so iconic but does that always make it the best level? for me not always and one thing that is said by Oddheader in his All Tony Hawk games ranked video "I'm more of a Gamer than a Skater so I'm gonna be looking at these more from a Gamer Perspective rather than it's representation of the sport" because for some of us including myself we love the Tony Hawk games for the gameplay and their Soundtracks and not just because we want to be skaters and I know some Skaters are gonna call me out on that but I just like playing the games
thank you so much for another exciting and interesting review and look back at the Tony Hawk Franchise this has been a blast to look at and DAMN what a way to end it all cause that was a massive madness of a list to do and i enjoyed watching every bit of it go Rest Jak ya earned it Majorly
Awesome job man. Pretty much agreed with your rankings too. Spent a week and a half watching bits of your video until I finished. Keep up the great work.
Dude, I made a ranking like ten years ago. My top three were 1. New Jersey 2. Manhattan 3. New Orleans. Very safe to say, I was pleased with this list, lol.
I'm glad my all time favorite (Alcatraz) was so high (I only played/owned 1-4). Obviously I would've put my favorite at #1, but being in the top 7% out of 165 games at #11 ain't bad.
Thank you everyone for your amazing support of Hawktober 2019! 😁🛹
QUICK NOTE: Don't let the runtime spook you.
Well I got what I asked for v:
I haven't seen the entire thing yet and I don't want to skip to end.
Keep the Videos Coming! Love the Content 🤙🏻
This hawktober was a big surprise you we all definitely see your content improved over the year good job👍
I watched the whole damn thing in one sitting.
Stretching the video so it gets to the ten minute mark... smh
The 5 second mark smh

My friend, this is dedication o.O Thanks for the effort✌
Agreed regarding Marseilles - it's my number 1. It's the perfect map.
@@madebyjordan thanks!
Sincerely, the proud designer of numbers 132, 105, 89, 70, 63, 58, 45, 40, 39, 16, 10, and 5. ...and I definitely apologize for that Kona slalom. ;-p
Thanks very much for your amazing work Chris, really appreciate the comment! 😁
How bad a mood were you in when you designed that sodding slalom??
Number 63 san Diego is an amazing map thank you sir,, the mid section is one if not the best acid drop area you can perform all series I loved playing that map
@@xmikerx666 Yeah, I clearly didn't step back to ask "Is this thing too hard?" It was a new mechanic at the time (the slalom/gates goal type), and the snake run seemed like such a perfect place for it! But even when I watch those videos, I wonder what I was thinking. I should have left it to a series of much simpler/wider gates. That 3rd pass is brutal. Otherwise, I loved designing that level. One of the more organic/curvy levels that I was able to do (not everything was a clean, straight line).
hey man i love streets idk what this guy is talking about lol
I didn't ask for this, I've never even been to this channel before, but here I am. I never knew I needed a list of Worst to Best TH levels list

That’s a lol and quite possibly a rip
LOL was it the NYU Stern building?
The way this was written I thought you meant you procrastinated so much that you were playing the game WHILE your final exam was taking place lol

Your Tony Hawk tober videos aren’t getting the recognition that they deserve. I really like how you got the fonts and style to match each game’s aesthetic and you actually played the games and did research
Using Jet Set Radio music as a replacement for Tony Hawk’s copyrighted soundtrack was a great choice.
Music just turns me on 🎶🎵

Stevoisiak great songs for this video
I've found the game one of the most replayable due to the level design.
when you said Tokyo my heart dropped but you meant Tony Hawk's Motion lmao
I thought he meant the one from thps 3
Especially when he put a picture of thps 3
While I don’t agree with a lot of the placements, I respect the dedication and time put into a video like this. Good job.
Same.
m2
I mostly agree with the ranges most of the levels are in, but I may have put them in another order
Massive nonce.
Just coming back to pay homage. This video will always be remembered and we appreciate all the Hawktober videos you've made

This vid > sleep (:
Hahahaha yes it's 4 am now and I just finished this
I really appreciate how you didnt half ass any of the tracks. You really went though and provided a detailed fair analysis for each track. Like you actually remembered small detailed things about every single track, and ranked them.
Amazing job! Must of been extremely difficult!
I decided to take all the unique levels from each respective game and average them out to see how good the levels are in the game overall
Rules:
Ports must have at least 3 unique levels
Levels that appear multiple times only count for the game it appeared in originally, unless a game changes it enough for another appearance
I will get the average by grouping all the levels together and dividing it by the amount of levels in the game
If there's a decimal I will round down if it's below a .5 and round up if it's a .5 or above
THE RANKINGS
#17- Tony Hawk Motion- despite being the third game to be eliminated, with 3 of the four levels appearing in the first 10 spots, the surprisingly ok Dubai level couldn't save this game from being the worst in overall level design and the worst game in general
#16- Sk8land- despite being the first game to be eliminated Sk8land managed to not have the worst levels overall although just barely, and that doesn't make Sk8land's levels any good
#15- THPS3 GBC: Despite the limitations of the Gameboy Color, Pro Skater managed to outshine actually managed to outshine the GBA and the DS and I have to give props for that
#14- Downhill Jam GBA- Man what's with these weakest port games with their best levels taking place in france
#13- Underground GBA & THPS2X- The first of a few ties in this ranking with THUGGBA having more consistent mediocrity with THPS2X being half awful, ⅓ mediocre, and ⅙ decent. Despite Tampa by far being the best level we've seen yet, with half the levels appearing in the first 15 spots the levels overall couldn't be saved
#12- Tony Hawk Shred- one of the most split set of tony hawk levels with half the levels being complete and utter trash being listed of during the first 15 with the other half appearing in the latter half of later. Which leads to everything averaging out to mediocre
#11- Tony Hawk Ride- Despite this game's best levels not outshining the best of shred. The fact that it's worst appeared just outside the first 15 helps propel this game slightly above shred
#10- THPS5- if Wild West, Underground, and Mountain were never made, this game would be a lot lower on the list. But since they exist they manage to propel this games overall levels from mediocre to decent.
#9- Project 8: Honestly just a decent mix of levels with one unfortunate stinker
#8- THPS1: I find it funny that a game made 2 decades ago has a mix of levels that can kick the shit out of current gen levels. But again, just a decent mix of levels with one unfortunate stinker
#7- THPS2: again a good mix of levels brought down a bit by a few average levels
#6- American Wasteland- I wonder how long it's gonna be before I can stop repeating myself
#5- THPS4 & THUG2 Remix: Another tie with remix's 4 exclusive levels being consistently good while THPS4's levels being more spread out throughout with some average levels, decent levels, good levels, and even some amazing levels
#4- Proving Ground- an incredibly strong run through the rankings with even the worst level in the game still being decent
#3- Downhill Jam- Man who thought a racing spinoff could top most of the main games when it came to overall levels
#2- Underground: Despite housing the two best levels in the whole franchise, this game barely missed out on having the best levels overall which I can only guess is because a few of the levels while still good, couldn't reach the gold tier top 50
#1- THPS3 & THUG2: Despite not having the absolute best levels in the franchise, these games had a strong run start to finish.
Superlative Awards:
Worst Best Level: San Francisco #138 Sk8land
Best Worst Level: Oil Rig #91 THPS3
Longest Absence: THUG2 #114-#46
Biggest range of level quality: THPS5 #148-#33
Smallest Range of level quality: THPS3 GBC #145-#124
Most Important Level: Freedom Plaza #69 Proving Ground
Also here's a link to all the crap I wrote down if you want to see the number each game got overall or something else

Here's hoping that its latest entry will show the giant some respect for its tarnished but sizeable legacy.
i can see now where the 2019 uploads were gone...
*BUT GODDAMN IT'S GONNA BE WORTH IT*
Yeah I wish we'd had a more consistent year, but I'm glad this video is finally realised and released!
Bravo!
2:11:56 that 8- bit version of "Not The Same" is so damn catchy!
41:59 jak sneaking in some autotune :D
AHAHA what the fuck 😂
LMAOO
And at 2:07:14 I think
@@lostmyedge_ he sounds like a fucking robot!🤣🤣🤣🤣
20:24 small correction: There's multiple tricks in the GBC tony hawk but they're hardly known and most players discover them on accident.
The air tricks (A button) are:
left or right - Indy
up or down - Stalefish
down-left - Japan Air
down-up - Method
right-down - Tailgrab
As a bonus, and I had no clue about this until I looked it up, there were also grind tricks in the game. If you did similar button combos you could get even more points when grinding
down-B - 50/50 grind
left-right-B - Boardslide
down-left-B - Smith
6:57 that line you said about Skylines was golden.😊
I wish someone would put timestamps for all 165 levels!
Done 2 months ago, check my comment.
@@PanekPL you absolute legend, m8 😎😎
@@someguy7526 awwww, thank you
Another awesome hawktober! And what a way to end it. Looks like I won’t be getting to sleep until late haha
Thank you! The video is segmented to an extent to make it easier for those who want to watch it across multiple sessions! 😃
Absolute mad lad. Excited to sink my teeth into this one. The effort you go to is appreciated, Jak!
I was gonna say I'm excited to stick my teeth into this hahahahahaha
This channel is the most underrated on UA-cam and it's downright criminal! Cheers to another fantastic Tony Hawktober.
What a massive video!!!! Amazing!!!!
Te amu
Amazing não, awesome!!
caralho até o wilson aqui
quando vai sair ffg novo?
rs
Uma maravilha
I haven't played Tony Hawk since I was, like, eleven, so this was honestly a super cool retrospective to sit through. Impressive work, dude.
Now this has made my day a million times better, thank you for the always perfect content Jak!
New Jersey is my personal fav. So many memories there. But Manhattan is probably second. Congrats for your great work!
Same i would have switched em. He didnt even mention the epic ending of thug 1 taking place there
I watched this all the way through without skipping once. This is by far the best countdown video I've ever seen
Thank you so much!
Oh, man...what an effort! The amount of time put into this video is borderline insane. Hugely thankful to be able to experience this, even though I didn't fully agree all the way (THPS2 Hangar is my #1 with THPS4 Alcatraz as a close #2). Well done!
Dude, this is my 3rd time watching this entire video. Lol
You’re one of the few people who can entertain me for 2 hours straight.
I found this channel about 2 days ago, and every single video I've watched has brought me joy, a lot of it, nice work!
Thank you! Just be aware that this is a special event. Videos usually come out every 1-2 weeks. 🙂
I've been wanting to see a ranking of all maps for ages! Awesome work Jak, looking forward to seeing this!
Awesome, glad you're keen. Thanks!
Hoping to do this with other series in the future, got another one already written to start 2020! 😄
can't believe I've watched this video... twice!!
one of my favorites videos on UA-cam right now, it's just so... honest (?)
Thank you very much!
I can't believe you watched it twice either, but then I couldn't believe I watched it once. I guess it just shows how good of a job he did.
Subscribed!
2-3 years reviewing the games to capture everything, cheers!
@@SquareEyedJak Amazing! I talked my coworkers ears off about this today. Thanks for the reply!
Your rating of the Pro Skater, Zoo and Venice levels is criminal
This feels like a movie of worst to best of Tony Hawk's Franchise
What a long ride it has been
And I always took piss and refill my meal when break time of this massive retrospective
Thank You, Jak!
You know what man.. it’s been a rough week.. I just ordered some comfort food and look forward to eating it while watching this. So thank you 🙏 used to play these games when times were much simpler
Self-care is best care.
I've watched this video dozens of times and it never gets old.
“I hope you’ve got some popcorn or something”. -me eating popcorn 😳
"The REAL Canada"
yes, as a canadian i can confirm canada is just a half square kilometer of snow and concrete ramps, literally nothing else
I appreciate that this list is your actual opinion and didn't put something like warehouse as number 1 just to pander to nostalgia
It may have taken me about a week worth of lunch breaks at work to watch this, but it was a God-damn masterpiece. I respect the devotion, my brother!
That frat alley was the bestncombo spot in ant game for me thps 4 will always be my favorite of all time
Aussie dude: "164 is Tokyo...
Me: *GASP* This mans gonna hear an uproar from the THUG Pro community
Aussie dude: in Tony Hawks motion of course."
Me: *BAMBOOZLED IN AUSTRALIAN*
I havent played any Tony Hawk games in my entire life, but I still watched this video to support the immense effort that went into creating this video. Was super entertaining too!
Thank you, that means a lot!
Same!
Cheers mate, appreciate the kind words!
Thank you for this video :)
PS: IM rewatching it a second time because its so well made
First video of yours I have seen and dayum. I gotta respect the grind. This must've taken forever and you can totally see the tons of work that went into the video. Great video, very informative, and makes me want to go back and play skater games.
I've watched this all the way through twice already and I'm just starting my 3rd run. Much love from NZ mate
1:54:40 i appreciate the smackdown hctp main menu music here, i grew up on both wrestling and skateboarding so it made my inner child smile
Wise up!
I am so glad I got the day off school, this is epic
Time to waste 2.5 hours of it 😂
@@SquareEyedJak thus far I'm enjoying every bit of it, well made mate
Literally THEE BEST TOP whatever list ever, like of all time! PERIOD.
You absolute madman. An hour in, 100 levels to go, and haven't been bored for a moment.
I was just talking about this video on Twitter and it struck me that I never left a comment after I watched it (poor form I know)
This is a fantastic video which I enjoyed every second of. The perfect example of why a super long video can be totally and utterly justified and engaging at every moment. Congrats to you man - this must have been a huge amount of effort to make and I hope all the rewards from it have made it worthwhile!
My guy made a 2 AND A HALF HOUR video and didn't even censor his swears to save his monetisation. That's something I can respect.
he has ads on the video too
Holy Mary Mother of God a two-and-a-half-hour single Square eyed Jak video all about Tony Hawk did I die and go to skater heaven early?
loving that there is Smackdown Here Comes the Pain in the background lol
And Crash Bandicoot toys lol
Was about to comment the same thing, i see you're a man of culture as well...
I watch this for every month since it came out and the views have just sky rocketed I love it good on ya mate !
Awesome, appreciate the support mate!
Next year: Tony Hawkternatives Lol skate 1-3, skate it ds, thrasher ps1 tech deck on gameboy. Simpsons skating. + that weird skating demo on MGS 2
Aggressive Inline, Shaun White's Skateboarding
Let's not forget Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure
The skating demo was, I think, related to Evolution Skateboard.
I wouldn't suggest spending too long with it because it's piss.
Goofys extreme skateboarding, Lego island sorta, ollie Ollie 1 and 2, Sonic riders is basically a skateboarding game
Also the activison 02 games like mat hoffman, kelly slater and shawn palmer
We need more creators like you! Quality research.... Loved it...
unfortunately society wants brainless nonsense not knowledge and skill :/
Probably the most engaged I’ve been in a two and a half hour UA-cam video. Phenomenal job.
JESUS 2 AND A HALF HOURS!
... guess I'm staying in tonight then!
thank you so much for another exciting and interesting review and look back at the Tony Hawk Franchise this has been a blast to look at and DAMN what a way to end it all cause that was a massive madness of a list to do and i enjoyed watching every bit of it
go Rest Jak ya earned it Majorly
Thanks, appreciate the kind words and cheers for being active each day!
Can't believe I spent 2 1/2 hours of my life watching this... STILL LOVED THIS THOUGH. Keep the content STELLAR as always.
Awesome job man. Pretty much agreed with your rankings too. Spent a week and a half watching bits of your video until I finished. Keep up the great work.
Awesome content Jak, UA-cam just recommended me your channel I couldn't be happier
Fucking glad UA-cam actually worked for once, cheers mate!
@@SquareEyedJak cheers!
Can someone give this man an award
I'd be interested in knowing how you'd rank the games as a whole as well. This was a great video, and your skill is impressive.
I was thinking in order from worst to best. I could just compare the numbers, but a video comparing them would be interesting regardless.
i may not agree with your rankings but its awesome to see all the levels put into one video. for nostalgias sake its amazing, good work dude.
Dude, I made a ranking like ten years ago. My top three were 1. New Jersey 2. Manhattan 3. New Orleans. Very safe to say, I was pleased with this list, lol.
Watched this in installments over the course of four days. Holy shit. Unbelievable.
New Jersey is a great level. THUG was my favorite.
I'm glad my all time favorite (Alcatraz) was so high (I only played/owned 1-4). Obviously I would've put my favorite at #1, but being in the top 7% out of 165 games at #11 ain't bad.
I don't even know anything about the tony hawk games but I can't stop watching this
It’s amazing to see almost one million views on a Tony Hawk game video. The game really was massive, even by todays standards.
