Thanks for uploading this classic ⚘️⚘️ No CGI, no explosions, no bizarre looking people, only stylish ladies and gentlemen speaking clearly in an entertaining story showing the beauty of Paris and coronated by Cary Grant's charisma and the gracefulness of Audrey Hepburn 👑 Love the classics ❤️
I love the classics, too, but there's nothing wrong with CGI or explosions. I enjoy many times of movies, I don't limit myself to only the classics. To me, that would be like listening to only one genre of music.
Also, although I do love the classics, and the well-behaved people in them, and the nicely-dressed people in them, the acting is often really bad - often very fake, very wooden. Plus a lot of them are very macho, very bad treatment/attitudes towards women. A lot of sexist attitudes. So although I appreciate many things about them, there's a downside, too.
@Julia I think the problem with modern effects and explosions is that there's too much of it. Like the super hero movies for example, they are good as a genre but they're being made much more than they should. In the old days actors were still affected by theatrical performance, and their fans liked that, that's why it may seem to our contemporary view as unnatural. I wonder how people after 50 years will assess the acting in our time. I'm not sure what do you mean by sexism in classic movies, may be that I come from a different culture. Personally I like how actors in those movies were polite with women compared to our time, even when they wanted to show their affection (except for the bad guys of course 😉)
I agree! I love this movie, and Mancini's music is some of the best ever recorded. I wish someone would make a UA-cam channel that played all of these old classics. It seems like finding these gems is getting harder and harder to find. Today's movies couldn't hold a candle to these classics.

Grand old classic with an excellent support cast, depicting educated worldly-wise sophistication and maturity rather than the shallow, brash, youthfulness of modern cinema. An absolute tonic to jaded sensibilities; many thanks for sharing...
A true classic with legendary actors! Cary Grant's voice alone was so charming but his looks were handsome! Audrey was like a true lady and the fashion by Givenchy was the best of the 60's!

Seen this several times over the decades and I still love it. There was a big fuss about the difference in their ages but they are both adorable! 🥰. (James Coburn is one of my favorite actors and it was sad seeing him suffocated).
I've always loved the description of "Charade" as "the greatest Hitchcock film that Hitchcock never directed." Just as Carol Reed's "The Third Man" was the greatest Orson Welles film that Orson Welles never directed. (Although he did appear in it -- unforgettably).
Audrey was just something else, her acting was so pure, she had amazing expressions and even though she definitely was the perfect princessy, dreamy girl, whenever she had the chance she showed just how versatile she was. Probably why my favorite performance of hers was Eliza Doolittle, she was so funny on that movie and it breaks a little that type of role she got as Sabrina, Natasha or even Jo. Actually if I'm being honest every performance has something that makes it unique, so probably my favorite will be whichever one I'm watching. But cockney accent Audrey on My Fair Lady and her "Moon River" scene on Breakfast at Tiffany's are always going to have a special place in my heart.
@@paulademichele1313 Yes, I absolutely love her voice and smile. She is the kind of person everybody would just stop to listen, because she had this ineffable beauty about her so as much as I love her as an actress, my favorite recordings of her are when she is speaking in her natural accent and tone. There we can see how intelligent she was, and just how much she had to share about life, love and kindness. I do like the fact that she an icon of beauty and fashion, but I hope that in future she is remembered more for the warrior and great human being that she was, it would be a tragedy to have someone with a message so powerful be known only as a pretty face, or a Funny Face , for that matter. (srry about the long wall text lol, can get a little carried away when it's about my biggest hero and inspiration in life, Audrey)
If you love Audrey as Eliza Doolittle and her singing Moon River in Breakfast at Tiffany’s how you seen/heard the original recording of her singing Wouldn’t It Be Loverly, which was dubbed over by Marni Nixon in post production. Audrey was very upset as she’d worked hard to improve her sining. You can find it in UA-cam.
@@sookibeulah9331 Yeah thanks, I've seen it. Have you heard the other ones too? I believe there are at least 4 of the originals available. The last one (where she sings to Higgins on the garden) I'm sure is available.
I like their voices, they are so deep and attractive. Odry is a wonderful actress, men are in the high level of a talant too❤❤❤ Thank you for opportunity to enjoy it
Every time I see Audrey Hepburn, I think to myself, “I forgot how beautiful she is/was.” It’s like seeing her the first time every single time. Marvelous.
June 17, 2022 I had forgotten "Charade" is free on UA-cam. My goodness, what a sublime production from everyone involved. The combination of Stanley Donen's camera setup that wonderfully catches Paris and with Henry Mancini's beautiful musical compositions exponentially enhancing both the of the stars; Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant, illumination to a magnificent super nova. At 1:31:51, when Reggie/Audrey Hepburn reacts to the realization that the stamps are worth $250,000 is as thrilling as both James Coburn and Cary Grant's performance. This cast and crew take us on a true rollercoaster ride.
Dyan Cannon and Cary were dating when this movie came out. Lucky Dyan to be dating the gorgeous, handsome charming Cary. He looks impeccable in every scene.
I grew up watching Audrey Hepburn movies, she has always been my all time favorite! Have you seen Roman Holiday, Sabrina, The Nun’s Story, Wait Until Dark, My Fair Lady, Love in the Afternoon? These are some of her best; there are so many! ❤❤❤
The timeless epitome of intellect, elegance, acting ability, and extraordinary cinematic craftsmanship. It has never become "dated" and will stand on it's own throughout future decades.
So, you've got no problem with a bunch of murders, theft, treason, and several mentions of drugs and sexual innuendo - but Heaven forbid anybody uses profanity? You, sir, are a hypocrite. Also: great movie nonetheless.
@@darnbricks Sorry, I should have qualified my comment by saying unnecessarily excessive profanity which I think shows a lack of effort in writing. As for all the other stuff, no problem at all. It's fiction and quaintly entertaining.
@@davidheywood9645 Oh, I tend to agree with that in most cases - but simply because a movie contains a certain amount of profanity doesn't automatically make it a lesser work of art.

@@danielgiraud1118 "Subtlety" is a very fine word to describe Audrey Hepburns essence. Yes, indeed. We call it "Feinheit" oder "Feinsinn". But it is more than that. To respect the small things, including the small differences between human beings, between one thing and another. There is a tendency in our time to be one-dimensional. Audrey Hepburn is multidimensional, and I'm sure, it is not just her part in the film. She is full of self-doubt, fear and anxiety, combined with great wishes, desires and hopes. Therefore I admire this woman. She is just the contrary to a narcisstic and one-dimensional personality! P.S.: You are right! My family and my ancestors are from Berlin. Good nose!!
Really amazing climactic chase inside a large french theater....the lighting, the cinematography, the film editing and the sound engineering. ( Audrey Hepburn trapped, Walter Matthau stalking her and Cary Grant listening to the sound of footsteps before pulling that trap door switch!)
Yes - the technical side of film making, everything that makes the acting and the story work as film - is rarely understood and appreciated. Thank you.
SPOILER ALERT The low, ominous, almost rumbling piano following Walter Matthau as he searches the theater is a masterclass in film scoring. and the sound effects of his loud echoing footsteps are chilling. Plus, the whole twist of his true identity just makes so much sense; I think it's one of the smartest twists in all of cinema. He was actually the smartest of all the men in pursuit of the money because he took the time to actually win her trust rather than antagonize her and turn her against him from the start (like the other 3 men did). This is top-tier thriller filmmaking.
"He must have known Charles pretty well" "How can you tell?" "He's allergic to him!" (as an unknown man sneezes over a corpse in a coffin) I now know that I'm going to love this movie; very, very much. There really was no doubt considering it stars several of my favorite actors. Just pondering... I wonder where that fine piece of Louis Vuitton luggage is today. I hope it was given to a crew member of the production staff, but probably not.
Pick an adjective...Superb! What a great story, so many twists. And Mr. Coburn's cheesy lame-o accent notwithstanding, a perfect package of a show. Ms. Hepburn was in the prime of her career - and perfectly teamed up with a sometimes goofy, sometimes patronizing Cary Grant - either one of which was entertaining through and through. Did you know that Cary Grant took LSD psychotherapy back when it was allowed? He did. Great movie - I'll be watching again! Thanks for the upload CCC! 💖 🇨🇦

It must have been fate for this film to fall into the public domain due to some defect in the process for claiming copyright. Now it belongs to the world.
I recall thinking when she discovered that Cary Grant was one of THEM that she had been through something so much worse when she hid in the basement of a house in Holland. SHE had been observed returning to her mom's home & the Gestapo saw she did NOT belong out past curfew & figured she must be doing something against the Reich. She stayed hidden in the basement for 3 weeks and to avoid starving she had to eat the paint off the walls. THIS action besides other such similar actions resulted in her developing a condition that rendered her thin all her life. Although nowadays we think it's great, she did NOT, and in her day and age-- when Marilyn Monroe was all the rave and women's bodies were still considered acceptable-- she definitely was considered too thin and rather odd looking. Needless to say, along with her amazing courage that she developed due to what she went through during the war, which transferred to film & gave her that film veritas look that the Italians perfected, she became just as desirable for the film industry as Marilyn Monroe.
The second best opening and credits sequence of the Sixties - the best being that for "North by Northwest". And, except for Cary Grant, this film was made by a completely different team. Shows you the level of talent and ability in Hollywood in those days.

All of that and a true personal warmth that came through in all of her films - her warmth infused all her facial expressions and her voice.
Watching "Charade" I've almost forgotten about Ms. Hepburn's Eliza Doolittle role. "My Fair Lady" is another movie I really don't mind watching again.
Let's say this movie is not old, just differently young.
I did love it when I saw it years ago.
I like their voices, they are so deep and attractive. Odry is a wonderful actress, men are in the high level of a talant too❤❤❤ Thank you for opportunity to enjoy it
Wundervoller Film mit genialen SchauspielerInnen! Einfach super Drehbuch, Dialoge, witzig, spannend und einfach brillant!
Every time I see Audrey Hepburn, I think to myself, “I forgot how beautiful she is/was.” It’s like seeing her the first time every single time. Marvelous.
BUT THAT LEOPARD PRINT HAT IS ATROCIOUS! Just TERRIBLE! Blech, etc.
And also, she’s “a minor”?! Why, ME TOO!
And also, Cary Grant?! That’s the worst rug I’ve ever seen. And I’m not a young woman anymore. Wowsa!
An oldie, but a goodie. Great performances by Carry Grant and Audrey Hepburn.
What an amazing film, what an amazing leading lady, what an amazing leading man… they just don’t make them like that anymore.

I had forgotten "Charade" is free on UA-cam.
That's a spoiler -- there are some people who haven't seen it before.
The movie is 1963 MORON.
Grant and Hepburn obviously had great fun making this movie.
I love Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant. This is a fantastic movie with amazing actors.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful film.
A truly classic film with a Hitchcockian style. Thank you for share this gem.
This is such a great movie! I remembered it was good from years ago, but I'd forgotten how good. Grant & Hepburn... what a pair!
Dyan Cannon and Cary were dating when this movie came out. Lucky Dyan to be dating the gorgeous, handsome charming Cary. He looks impeccable in every scene.
I keep forgetting just how good this film is. Stanley Donen director! No wonder!
I hadn't known Audrey Hepburn 😍before watching this movie, she is not only beautiful but also pretty but also quite cute and confident in acting,
I grew up watching Audrey Hepburn movies, she has always been my all time favorite!
It's lovely, but totally dated. The clothing, attitudes, etc. So dated.
Immer höflich und elegant wird diese Zeitreise erkannt….für uns Darlings ❤❤
Suspense, humour, outstanding cast, great music, no offensive language. Some of today's film makers could learn so much.
@@darnbricks Oh shut up.
@@davidheywood9645 Oh, I tend to agree with that in most cases - but simply because a movie contains a certain amount of profanity doesn't automatically make it a lesser work of art.
@@catherinelw9365 Do you really think that this comment of yours was worth posting? Have those three words added anything worthwhile to this dialogue? No. You were simply being discourteous and angry.
This movie is one of my all time favorites. Love cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn. Rearwindow and Wait Until Dark are my other two.
A classic. This seemed to be on TV every year in the 70's.
The film was never copyrighted. Big mistake but thank God.
Trop trop boen !!! Merci pour cet excellent partage !!!
Timeless and just good. Audrey Hepburn is a little universe of sensitivity, insecurity and expression. In her little finger she has got more sensitivity than modern actors can possess or express in their lifetime.
J'aime bien tes exagérations. Tu me fais penser à moi.
@@danielgiraud1118 Merci Daniel! Ca me fait beaucoup de plaisir de characteriser les vedettes d'une autre époque presque oublié (et d'ecrire dans une autre langue que la mienne)
@@victorvogelfrei9808: Howdy Victor de Hossegor ! Lemme thank thee fer thy nice comment. So now, I do know now that thou make me twicely think tae me. Unfortunately, I am french an' the french make me sick, but at the age o' Christ on cross, I did discover that mah father were nae mah father an' a-carryin' on on my discover, I went tae the final point that mah real father was half english. An' third point in common, thou art nae deeply french. I guess thy relatives an' roots come from Germany. Am I right ?
An' tae come back tae Audrey Hepburn, she does possess a subtlety, nuances an' intricacies that make me fond o' her. She's so much attractive tae me an' far much mo' than a sexy girl. She illustrates fully an' utterly the Woman wi' a "W" block-letter. "Ô Woman, thou art the masterpiece o' God's will"
@@danielgiraud1118 "Subtlety" is a very fine word to describe Audrey Hepburns essence. Good nose!!

It doesn't get any better than Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn!
Awesome, great script, great acting, great cinematography! We need them all to be like this one, a real classic! Keep ‘em coming.
Absolutely !
And don’t forget the music! Mancini’s “Charade” never ages.
Gracias
I’ve watched this film maybe 1000 times but I still love it😊
Love the twist...specially by Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant. Old is gold 😊
oh Audrey Hepbburn, James Coburn, Cary Grant and George Kennedy! how wnderful❤ such great talent actors and Audrey was also so elegant ❤
I am 27 yrs from Vietnam and i found this movie is cute and suitable for me than other modern action movies. Am I old alr?😂
Thank you.
Matthau is really outstanding here! Perfect casting👌
SPOILER ALERT
The low, ominous, almost rumbling piano following Walter Matthau as he searches the theater is a masterclass in film scoring. and the sound effects of his loud echoing footsteps are chilling.
Let the good times roll! Timeless movie, great actors!
Xq. 1 pelicula tan linda no tiene traduccion ??
I agree with you 100%!
Almost anything withbAudrey Hepburn becomes an instant classic. Add.Cary Grant and its always worth watching. Audrey had excellent taste in films.

I remember watching this movie again and again back in the sixties...it always seemed to be on, but it was so well done I in turn always watched it...
Only ever saw this movie once and that was 20+ years ago. One of the great ones. Thanks so much for posting this.
One of my all time favorites. I adore Cary Grant. Thank you for sharing.
Cary Grant, Audrey Hepburn, Walter Matthau csodás szereplők, remek story, és a végén a meglepetés! Jól szórakoztam, köszönöm.
"He must have known Charles pretty well"
"How can you tell?"
"He's allergic to him!"

I now know that I'm going to love this movie; very, very much.
There really was no doubt considering it stars several of my favorite actors.
Just pondering... I wonder where that fine piece of Louis Vuitton luggage is today. I hope it was given to a crew member of the production staff, but probably not.
Good question LV may belong to AH. And was her private luggage.🤩
Ini salah satu film yang menyenangkan! Terima kasih sudah menyajikannya di sini.
Walter Matthau- great as always. Terrific movie - keeps you guessing for sure!
The world was a much better place when there were people like Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant. Unlikely to ever see their like again.
Maravillosa pelicula, la he visto en diferentes oportunidades,y hoy la he vuelto a mirar. Gracias por compartirla.
I miss the writing of films like this, clever dialogue, witty one liners.
What a pity they do not write scripts like this now.
that's what a room full of number crunchers will do to an "art" industry. Death.
@@kennywowie Sadly I think you are right, look at the endless parade of rubbish we get now.
Films made purely based on how much money it will gross.
@@alcedo_kf I think you are probably right, I hardly ever go to the movies these days, Comic book and bad remakes seem to be all there is.
The other thing that seems to drive movie making now is the merchandising potential.
@@kiwitrainguy That is absolutely true.
In fact it seems many Films are only made because of the Merchandize, not the other way around.
Mel Brooks summed it up, with "Space balls" the Flame thrower.
I just learned this evening that Audrey was a) Dutch, and b) a Dutch resistance member in WW2 at the age of 15. Wow. I had no idea.
For me, probably the best scene in this film, in a way, is the honesty of the French stamp guy. Possibly would not have worked as well without the accent! Magic.
Paul Bonifas as the Stamp Collector; he’s also in John Frankenheimer’s “The Train” as Spinet, the Resistance leader.

My friend, this iz cinema. In real life, there iz nae honest man in France. Even I am nae being honest. I planted 35 bombs in 35 French churches 'cause this stupid pope covered up the ped*philes o' French priests who committed 330,000 sexual abuses from 1950 to 2020 on innocent children. But these priests only applied the words o' the bible an' this bearded man who said : "Let the little children come to me" .... So long live the ped*philes o' French priests.
Audrey, Cary and the romantic Paris of the sixties. This movie is priceless since today's Paris is no more the ville de lumiere of our hearts.

Best movie ever made, the only movie I can watch twice, that proves it. And Walter Matthau makes it!
I am so happy to find this movie !
My DVD messed up & I was so sad!
I probably wore my DVD out watching it over & over! Love it & it never gets old watching it ❤😊
It must have been fate for this film to fall into the public domain due to some defect in the process for claiming copyright. Now it belongs to the world.
This film is unforgettable.❤🎉

オシャレで色褪せない映画🎥でオードリーヘップバーンの映画は不思議な魅力があります。
I like "North By Northwest" also. Except I'm putting Henry Mancini's "Charade" #1.
