Simply " Class " McAlmonts voice is amazing , & the song is very moving and emotional
1st heard this in the mid 90s and was hooked on the duo
Sadly they didn't have that many hits , I guess they didn't appeal to mainstream radio stations or teenage song buyers of the day
But these were a brilliant duo

This is one of my favourite ever songs and hearing those strings sends shivers down my spine and takes me back to being a young 20 yr old man with his life ahead and many an adventure beckoning. I played this album so much but this is my favourite track. David McAlmont is a stunning singer and simply one of the finest talents around and he and Bernard Butler were amazing together. Thank you for uploading this as I will saviour this x

I concur. I'm 43yrs old now. Ever since I first saw this on the tele, I always thought this live performance sounded way better than the studio version. Big thumbs up for posting this forgotten gem.

Amazing how acrimonious the fall out was and they got back together even

This was the gig I was at.
I'd worked on the Set Design for the BBC and really only went to see how it had panned out.
But this song by McAlmont and Butler just blew me away and I rushed out the next day to buy their CD at Tower Records!
    Those were the days.
Alison Moyet was there and backed by Jools Holland and his rhythm section.
Alf was wonderful as ever, but during the inevitable technical hitches, Jools and his rhythm section played some amazing Boogie Woogies, covers of "Dangerman" and his own composition I later learned "Bumble Boogie", and after that I became a firm fan of his band!
This was a man who clearly got through two pianos a week, but in a very good cause.
Sadly his band got very popular, and expensive to go and see, but that was a wonderful night!
    Such a night!

There's something angelic about David's voice. It's like he learnt to sing in the clouds.

@@robjackson1319 I think some of my favourite versions of songs are in a live television studio setting - everything played and sung live - without the often time poor sound quality of a live concert recording with the addition of great camera work and sound...the song and performance ...I just drift away on a beautiful boat on a moonlit sea...

John Brady well this is certainly an example of that. This was jools Holland show. They did a live version of yes aswell on the same show. Have you seen that?
