  • BulletSafe Bulletproof Vests www.BulletSafe... presents a video that shows you what it would feel like to be shot while wearing a bulletproof vest. We use a water-filled target to show the effect of the impact of being shot, then we hit that same target with a rubber mallet and a baseball bat so that you can compare the impacts to each other. It's a great lesson in what it would feel like to be shot while wearing a bulletproof vest without endangering any of our friends or employees.

As someone who was shot pointblank by a 357 mag wearing a bulletproof vest. It hurts like hell, you get real pissed take care of the idiot that shot you then check for the hole and bleeding. It takes about 2 weeks to get over the initial pain and about 15 years for the cool brown spot to fade where the bruise was. Great conversation piece after that.

That's pretty accurate. I read somewhere that a .38 Special has about the same energy as a home run ball.

My name's Adam. I've worked for 17 yrs as a Certified Nurse's Asst in a variety of hospitals on dozens of Floors here in the Orange County, CA area.
    This is interesting:
Once, on a Telemetry Floor (we monitor ppl's cardiac activity with wireless transmitter gizmos) a patient I took care of had been hit with a round from an AK-47 when he was in front of his military base in Iraq. He was wearing a vest.
Later on he'd got a special pacemaker, one with an automatic defibrillator built in.
He was in the hospital because his automatic defibrillator had gone off accidentally. This happened when he was sitting on a bus stop bench. He said when it went off he thought someone had hit him with a 2"x 4". He also said that the cardiac defibrillator had a harder hit than the AK-47 round.
