  • Hey folks! This week we will be painting the Tiger 1 that we've been working on the past few weeks. We will be preparing for chipping and weathering by applying a primer coat then a three tone camouflage.

Use post it notes to paint ovm tools that way you dont get brush paint on your base coat. Works wonders

Nice work! You may want to conduct research on shell impacts in zimmiret. It sounds like the material would flake or crumble off an even burn given the correct circumstance. The material was partially mixed with wood pulp.

Great suggestion! I'll paint that during the weathering stages. Perhaps a bit of putty work will be needed

Yeah, zimmerit was somewhat flammable, I think that there were some accidents reported because of it in factories

Amazing paint job mate but you forgot to glue the "lifting hook" on the turret,on the sites, near the gun mantlet (you know, the round pieces)😉👍

Looks amazing what was the primer to thinner ration and pressure and needle size?

    • @relentlesstorm

For the Mr Mahogany primer coat I was using a 50/50 mix of primer to leveling thinner. Pressure was at 20psi with a 0.5mm needle though I barely pulled on the trigger with the procon boy to get the coverage I needed. Following this application I actually ordered the procon boy PS-275 with a 0.3mm needle because the 0.5mm was a bit too much for this small of a scale. 0.5mm works but I have to pulse the trigger to avoid flooding the surface. For the top coat of dunkelgelb I used a .2mm needle at the same psi without thinner. When I sprayed the camo pattern I used a .15mm needle with pressure just below 20psi and the mix ratio was 60%paint, 20% thinner, 20% retarder. I should've gone a bit heavier on the thinner and retarder for the brown color as the paint seemed a bit thicker than the green.

@relentlesstorm9356 thanks for the info bud! I have a ton of that primer and will start using it once the spray booth shows up cause it's so stinky.

good thinking. I have a mask to wear when I spray lacquers. I think you have that same 3M mask that I use.

@relentlesstorm9356 yeah but even with the mask the fumes stink up the rest of the house, really looking forward to the booth for exhausting it outside

You missed the lugs for the gun . That stick out on the turret sides in the front, those were used for removing the turret.

I did! Someone else caught that as well and I put them on in the beginning of the next video. :)

    Hello my friend.
Another great and informative vid. The triple colour modulation looks really good so I'll be giving that a try.
Looking forward to the next instalment.

Thank you! I'm still learning color modulation but I do enjoy how it brings out the details in a model
