Having your Prisms running away from the fight, while firing behind them, now there's a winning tactic, especially if the Prisms are elite.
if you have a good strategy when using prism tanks like shooting and running even Apocalypse Tank can't touch them
It's a good strategy however in most skirmishes you won't reach battle lab tier.

One more factor here might be veterancy does not give the Apocalypse much of a firepower advantage against the Prism Tank that it didn't already have. An Apocalypse could already destroy a Prism Tank in one shot even if it's green.
I ain’t surprised at elite status. I know how strong the Prism tank’s splash damage on mass opponents is when it’s on elite status.
The take away for those are shocked is the fact that once a prism tank is fully promoted (Elite) their reflection arcs are increased TREMENDOUSLY. Each beam was literally hitting several apocalypse tanks simultaneously - so you can imagine the havoc that brings.
That is also why I think prism tanks have more potentials in a real fight, with certain micro ability, one may deal a lot of dmg by just shoot and pull back since it has longer range than the Apoc. I always sneak them in the enemy base, take down some valuable structures, get them promoted fast and then crush the rest of the enemy 😂

I mean prism tanks are literally paper compared to the resilience of an Apocalypse tank but there you have it. Just like you said, as long as you use the Prism tank's range advantage it could potentially keep winning but if the Apocalypse get anywhere near, those Prisms are gonna get eaten up like nachos. xDD

This did NOT surprise me because someone did the similar experiment many years ago, and prism can win even with the same number vs apocalypse when elite.
The reason is, apocalypse is always one hit kill to prism, no matter what level of apocalypse or prism. So promoted to elite is not helping much in this battle actually. On the other hand, prism when elite increased the splash damage quite some, and it can do quite some damage when apocalypses are crammed (with also it's long range being taken advantaged of), despite this laser attacking type is not good for tanks (good for infantry and building instead).

@@mikuhatsune8121 From my observations, Allied have the best elite units (IFV, prism tank), Soviets are in the middle, while Yuri is the worst (mind control doesn't benefit much from Elite and all Gattling gets is faster wind up time).
That's why multiple Prism Tanks getting promoted are scarier than Apocalypse Tanks advancing in packs...
Just 1 elite prism tank can destroy a whole brutal AI base if played right, also it needs some aa support against air units who will go for it, thats what i usually do

Apocalypse Tanks are only good when solo 1-1 and they have very slow movement speed and long production, basically only 10 elite prism tanks are enough to kill 7 brutal AI without any loss
Elite prism was a HUGE plot twist.
Not if you've watched a lot of these vids. Allies usually get tanked in the first two rounds but obliterate the soviets at elite.

After seeing the Tanya vs Desolator, would be interesting to see how much difference the Prisms at base level and veteran level would have if standing still. Obviously elite would just be even more devastating.

Elite Prism Tanks, along with the Chrono Commando, are basically the "I win" button once you get enough of them (and know how to use them).

Yeah. In multiplayer once I stole tank tech and got 3-4 of them to elite I just build my army around them and I auto-win.

Veteran Prism tanks massed like this are also a 'win'. Keep them stationary, properly faced toward the threat, and they win you the battle. Once a few get elite, its game over for any land unit.

I used to play RA2 with my friends at a gaming center. We play with terms "dont attack first 20 mins". Against mass prism tank defences, win is almost impossible without air support (nuke, hero, b2 missle etc)

That is the problem with allied units, they are useless until Elite...
That's basically the Allied playstyle in a nutshell. Mediocre in the early game, borderline unstoppable if you let them tech up and advance into the late game.

Prism Tank is more of a siege weapon but also very effective as a assault vehicle. Its very low armor rating and super slow speed are the cons. But its very long range prism laser can destroy all targets with a singal shot.
Please note in my opinion the prism tank is best unit in whole game.

prism tank is faster than Apocalypse and is a 100 times better unit than Apocalypse
Most people see the Prism Tank as an overpowered unit. If you get a group of six together they can destroy any building in a single shot meaning they will make short work of an enemy base if you give them some support to hide behind.

I think it would be better to provide the percentage of survival instead of just raw number.... or just give a ratio like:
apoca survival rate: 39/50 (at 0:34)
They should have made it so you can make Prism Apocalypses when getting a Sov/Allied Tech Center.
With dual prism cannons and Apoc armor + Aegis anti air rockets.
+Immune to mind control if you get Yuri Tech.

Prism tanks are of course best used in defensive mode, behind fodder like mirages in front of them.
I wonder how the outcome is if you do not move them at all.

Plus in a 1v1 setting, you would not have the two factions.
It would be better to have mirages because they do not get auto detected when standing still. (If there is no infantry nearby).

Elite prism tanks with armour and firepower upgrade crate is almost godmode. A pack of 10 can annihilate an enemy base within 10 seconds.

from green to elite:
what apocalypse improves: armor, nothing else (either green or elite can one shot kill a prism so fire power improvement makes no sense)
what prism improves: fire power, range, 2 x damage factor against heavy armor targets, 2 x number of targets affected by reflection (AoE effect)
Elite apocalypse also exponentially improves its damage against infantry, because its elite gun is anti-everything.

Its a simulation... We know in proper micromanage you can beat them either using soviet or allied faction and who on earth would let their allied opponent make 7 to 30 prism to elites. If you can penetrate them just finish them off. Its like letting a Brutal soviet opponent's kirov on your base with no AA defense. Not the best tank(PT) around but the most chosen tank in allied battle lab tier together with mirage, cant win without them in a modded brutal difficulty RA2/YR.

@@msas952 That is if they are not elite.. simulation here is vastly different than when you play an actual game.. Supreme Soviet Power can still overshadow you when you are slow or commit just few mistakes. Also, vice versa to Advance Allied Power can still overshadow you.

RA2 has never really been balanced as the Allies are set up for late game/AI while Soviets are set up for early game/humans because of their war miners + rhinos which is where most games end up.
Yuri's revenge just made it ridiculously in favour of Yuri's faction though.

Prisms had to stand still and use the full potential of their range (or moving backward). So it's not the fact that the apocalypse would have won in this case.

@@jihanessa4132 So this is the problem, they were not defensive, look carefully - they were driving straight towards the apocalypses. Range gives superiority for prisms, they must keep their distance from apocs. If the prisms had stood still or were driving back, running away from the apocalypses, the battle could have ended with a different outcome. In addition to the battle of the elites, it is obvious here that prism tanks are much stronger
It surprised me in a bad way. Apocalypse Tanks are so awful. Worst unit in the game quite frankly. The cost and build time are never worth it.
