    Thank you for these videos, Angela! The challenges are fun to follow even like 4 years after :) Just wanted to say that I struggled with swirls so much, even with paper and pen. Then I just decided to move on to feathers and was afraid it would be a mess but I found feathers much easier, at least in this variation. Thanks again!

    I really enjoy your videos. Especially the ones with all-over designs. I use a lot of prints where the quilting doesn't show much, but I still want to be able to quilt it myself so it looks good. Your videos are giving me the confidence to tell myself - "Yes, I can do this."

    I did it! Yea! Thank you for your great tutorials that encourage us not to stress over the imperfections and just enjoy learning. Many of my feathers looked like flowers but I improved the more I did. It was so fun with a great feeling of accomplishment!

    Curious how your quilt sandwich is held together. I don't see pins so did you spray baste? If so, what product did you use? It sometimes looks like the fabric is bunchy and I think you're going to get a tuck but then somehow it smooths back out. Thanks sharing your talent. I've learned so much!

    I’m loving your video tutorials on free motion quilting. However, I’m terrified and unsure which FMQ to start on my second quilt. The first quilt I did stitch in the ditch (boring beginner stuff right). My 2nd quilt, “Summer in the Park,” needs a little something more than stitch in the ditch, but it’s very geometric. Which FMQ pattern do you recommend?

    What type of batting do you use? And does the quilting make it colder if you quilt it heavily?

    • @AngelaWaltersfmq
      @AngelaWaltersfmq  6 років тому

      I like to use Quilters Dream Fusible batting. Here's a link to more information about it:
      quilting-is-my-therapy.myshopify.com/products/fusible-poly-batting-by-quilters-dream
      Even if you quilt it heavily, it will soften up with use. I think having more quilting will make it last longer.

    Hey, Angela! LOVING these FQ videos! My question : Do youbuse the special 'low tension' bobbin case for your Janome for FMQ? My thread keeps breaking!!!!!! But, i am also new to this janome machine....

    • @pattygray2634
      @pattygray2634 6 років тому +1

      Try using the Janome purple needles. Using those needles have eliminate my thread breaking.

    • @tumbleweed714
      @tumbleweed714 6 років тому

      Patty Gray ok, i will try it! Thank you! I actually just read that somewhere else too! They said that after a little while of using the purple, they were able to buy thesmuch less expensive Organ Brand size 14, and use those with no problems. Apparently Organ manufactures the Janome needles? Thats what i rrad somewhere.....

    • @pattygray2634
      @pattygray2634 6 років тому

      Julie Spear, let me know what you find out! The purple needles are expensive, but worth it to not getting skipped stitches!

      I love my janome. About 5-10% of needles are just a bad needle... I have used all kinds of thread with it. Try switching to different stitch. I like the ones with a little p on the chart for piecing better than the default stitch. Just better results. I made 14 tops this winter so doing the finishing stuff and gave 10 away today.

    advice
    Your stitches are very beautiful.
    Your sewing machine is Janome 710. I am a poor person and it is not possible for me to buy this sewing machine with so much money.
    This sewing machine if Uesd available in low budget. Then I will buy.
    Or you will have beautiful sewing like this sewing machine on a low budget with the name and model number of such a sewing machine. so that i can buy
    I am a designer. Design with pen on two layers of fabric. I will sew using free mutton on the sewing machine.
