Very good review! Especially that you reviewed the more uncommon 37mm sized Royal Oak. I have the same "issue" as you have - the 41 is too big for me on the bracelet so I'll definitely take a closer look at the 37 because the lack of the seconds hand on the traditional 39mm version is a no go for me.
Great review taking into account historical factors, with informative background. I appreciate your mature and convincing opinions that seem wiser than your years. You have exquisite and elegant taste. What sets your videos apart is that, though it is easy to love AP and Patek, you do a perceptive job of convincingly distinguishing your tastes between the finer watches in the world. I am a fan!
Great review! I've never had the opportunity/pleasure of seeing a Royal Oak in person (due to the town that I live in.) I would love to own and appreciate a 39mm as well since I also have smaller wrists.
Thanks Erik! As 'Just thoughts really' said they're stunning in person, its hard to capture the true life and fire of the watches on camera, fingers crossed you'll be a lucky owner one day so you can see it every day haha, they never get old!
Hi, thanks! My wrist size is approx. 16cm. The straps are Perlon straps, they can be found all over the internet. These guys have a great selection: www.whatchs.com
Hi Dylan, can you help me I am looking at the steel with diamonds 37mm royal oak (like you posted except with diamonds) and the rose gold with diamonds with the nickel grey dial 37 mm royal oak... what to do? I don't think the rose gold is too flashy but then I understand there is something understated with the steel. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts. Thanks Sarah
Hi Sarah, Thank you for your message! I know the rose gold model but the steel ones don't come in a white dial (black, grey and blue). I'll pick the grey as its a better comparison between the metals. Both are beautiful watches and its crazy hard to decide between the two. The rose gold is very very special and that dial is stunning! Its a more unique watch than the steel. The steel is better for everyday wear, just depends on how much you're going to be wearing the watch. Personally I always prefer steel but that's because I like subtlety and to be be able to wear it everyday all day (not the best with rose).
Hi Dylan, Thank you so much for your message. I mistakenly thought the QEII was steel but it is platinum with diamonds and a white dial. The problem is I cannot try it to determine whether it is for me because it is such limited edition... So I just need to decide whether I want a rose gold watch to wear on special occasions and in the evenings or a platinum QEII watch to wear daily and for special occasions. It is a tough one. I appreciate your reply. thank you
Hi, I have 15.3 cm wrists and this 37 mm would be perfect. In your case, I would say 37 or 39 mm. So if you like bigger watches, 39 would be your pick. But then again, it's best to try it in the metal and have a feel for it.
I have the same wrist as you (16,5 cm) and I have owned both the RO Chrono in 39 mm and the 15300 in 39 mm. Both were too big and bulky for me so I sold them and got the 37 mm 15450. Perfect size for my wrist
This watch in two tone 18K rose gold is INSANE. So beautiful it defies description. $10,000 more than this stainless version. I wish the premium was more in line with the price of the stainless one but I don’t care. I’m getting a 15450SR.
Gerald Malik archieluxury was quoted nearly $4k for a service so yeah I believe you. Keep in mind this is like buying a Ferrari and complaining about the service and maintenance costs.
The design is mainly inquired by the technical limited if production tools back then, that's why it is so angular. Designed in less than 15 minutes. Today this watch is a status symbol, very difficult/impossible to get from an AD, you have to go to the grey market and pay an even higher price to get one. The dial texture is beautiful tho.
This is a daily wearer for the client, yes it is steel. If looked after well then you won't have noticeable scratches, the brushes effect does mean that they show up more though.
Hello, couldn't quite catch your name. I've migrated from a Rolex interest to AP and looked at your ROO video of old 42mm Chronographs on rubber straps with 'uncomfortable' deployant straps, so was armed to make sure AP's AD gave me correct info regarding a rubber strap for the 42mm Pink gold Chronograph. Like the newer 44mm ROO better and hav seen all the tweaks at SIHH with Hodinkee's articles, they explained the Royal Oak battleships were named after the hollow tree which saved King Charles from Cromwell, which I didn't know, as I went to a crap school, which bizzarely did Russian History. Like the extra-thin Ro 39mm x 8mm in new yellow gold, both gold; blue and special edition 'Hour Glass' green. Also new RO Chronos with larger chrono dials; altered date and more illuminous indexes and hands. I'd like the Platinum 44mm ROO Chronograph; one of the extra-thin with gold dial; or one of the new RO Chronographs, in pink gold, don't think they do yellow. It winds people up more if like you did, not responding to morons.
Hello Dylan, unfortunately, it's not a move to AP as if I've already got a Rolex, which I've looked at for some time. Tried some on in Goldsmiths AD in Trafford Centre Mcr with Ardino, who was very helpful and selling them 10 years. Day-Date very nice, diagonal motif Saturday Sun Dust or Black dial, with latest Rolex movement shared with latest Datejust 41mm. Always liked Explorer and Explorer II and GMT-Master II. Like Submariner Date as Glidelock and no adjustment in Crownclasps. Saw AP ROO 44mm Ceramic/ Titanium in Rockefellers Jewellers here Manchester just in, I need reading glasses now and have always worn glasses so like more legible dials, like Submariner, although dial diameter small because of bezel. AP 44mm ROO Chronometer ceramic not that legible, surprised as it's 44mm. Rolex expensive, but good value for money as that AP is around £25K got exact price from Rox Diamonds and Harrods Watch Room, Chinese manageress of AP boutique very helpful. Could get yellow or white 18 ct Rolex Submariner Date or GMT-Master II for that. You could review new larger index and counters on SIHH 2017 AP RO Chronograph and Rolex Submariner Date white gold. 116619 LB I'm subscribed so will watch new videos, thanks.
I love this piece, especially 37mm white or blue. Size, colour, movement, design. It's just perfect. Great review.
such a beautiful watch - and that bracelet is the best in the world design by far. Pure quality - worth every penny. Gerald Genta is a design genius.
I agree, when I first saw the watch I was meh,but over time it's my favorite followed by JLC Reverso

I wouldn’t call it uncommon. Most ROs that I see on people are 37mm or 36mm. Men. Not women.
Great video, i love the history of the watches at the beginnings of your videos, great stuff.
Thanks Michael! Very kind, glad you enjoy them :)

Great review just couple of questions, whats your wrist size and nice strap you wear on the sub where is it from?
Hi, thanks! My wrist size is approx. 16cm. The straps are Perlon straps, they can be found all over the internet. These guys have a great selection:
www.whatchs.com
37 mm for ladies? I thought AP positions this as a unisex watch. For small wrist guys like me, this is the perfect size.
Amazing size for me too! However the majority of clients that buy this specific model are women
37mm & 39mm ? The perfect size....
Pasquale Spagnuolo Below 40 is considered for women. 39 maybe okay but it’s pushing it
you dont know what youre talking about
ali murtaza i would exactly get that model of the video, it is amazing

Absolutely magnificent! This exact model is my ultimate grail watch. I hope one day I'll feature it on my channel, too...
Which model has the airport at the 12 position instead of the 2 lines? Reference number or name?
my dream watch!!
Does this watch scratch easily? I noticed yours is banged up.
Hi
I have a wrist circumferance of 16.5 cm. Will you please advise what would me.more suitable out of 39mm and the 41 mm royal oak ?

What kind of Strap do you have on your rolex?? … LOVE IT…!

I have heard the AP charges $3000 for just s normal servicing and it takes 4-5 months. Your comment please.
Gerald Malik archieluxury was quoted nearly $4k for a service so yeah I believe you. Keep in mind this is like buying a Ferrari and complaining about the service and maintenance costs.
Dylan, what band are you wearing with your Sub in this video? Love the combination
If possible, could you include the price ranges for your reviews please?
Hi Porsche Highly, the prices are in The Watch Room link in the description
What size is your wrist?
I would love to see the Vacheron Overseas blue dial, especially compared to the Royal Oaks 41mm.
Really great review, I will consider buying!
Fits you like a glove, friend.
I always enjoy your videos with the right amount of info, but the editing of this video really jumps during your narration...really distracting.

Good job, keep up with the reviews! Love your videos!
Thank you Michael!
Whats the retail price of the 37mm?
$16,500
Can you do an AP Royal Oak Chronograph video review???
Personally as it is a sporty nautical themed watch I feel that it should have a slightly better water resistance. Still a great watch though!
Watching this in October 2021 the price of the rolex and ap
love your videos keep the work up! greetings from germany
Thanks Kai!!
You really should do a mandatory wrist check. Wondering what piece you wesring in this video
A beautiful watch that i love .
This watch was so badly scratched especially on the bracelet, is it second hand? So worry that the watch can be scratched easily ... steel?
This is a daily wearer for the client, yes it is steel. If looked after well then you won't have noticeable scratches, the brushes effect does mean that they show up more though.
the surface finish of the bracelet makes it a known scratch magnet within the watch community.
I will definitely stop by next time I am in London! I'm in the market for a YG Royal Oak with a blue face.
Feel free to contact us when you're next here. We'd be happy to help out with the Royal Oak

Andrew Holt Thankyou for your life story
It wasn't addressed to you. 'Long Finger'?? So keep your moronic sarcastic comments to yourself.
Andrew Holt 🤣🤣🤣🍻
Very nice!
Great video. Thanks.
Thanks!
Great review, but the jumpy editing style is diabolical... gives me nausea 🤢
I have this one !!
it’s like the cyber truck of watches
It's a bit jewellery like to me. I'm not a big fan but each to their own.
Had 37mm felt too small, 39mm is just perfect. Nautilus is an imitation.
they were actually both designed by Gerald Genta
Rolex Sea Dweller 116600 review please?
AP or Hublot guys?
ap, hublot is bollocks
AP
Rizky Febian hublot not comparable to ap
Hublot if you're Justin Bieber.
Rizky Febian AP
You forgot the influence of HMS Royal Oak on the design.
Please listen from 2:08
Bijou Diamond Jewellery Sorry I missed it. You are right.👍
I thought it was actually made from oak 😂
Iconic watch, one of d best in d world ;)
Scratch magnet watch
Not entry level whatsoever the date only models are the desired pieces
£15,000 snobbery watch just for the toffee nose , silver spoon boy's .
Replique 😂
Could you help me choose between thisAP or Breguet Royal Marine?
I will help you: Go check your bank account again and make sure you whr not drunk when you thought you ehr rich
I don t like this style of watches. Diz!!!😃😈😠😠😠
Ugly watch.
... for your tastes. What's a good looking watch in your opinion?
I used to think so too but it grew on me and I now consider the 15400 blue dial to be my grail watch. :)
This is Garbage (37mm)!!!!
the RO should only be available in 39mm
This is actually perfect for me. Different strokes for different folks.
Agree--maybe 38, but not 37. What guy with smaller wrist wants to buy a watch that are sold to more women. smh
