Been a user of dxvk for a longtime, so this is a treat knowing that this workaround works. In case if anyone can't get it to work when starting the game, start first in DX12 and set the game as window and smaller resolution. Then follow Clock bench guide, the game should start in vulkan now. However I did noticed that the tradeoff is that the game run in slow motion, you do get a boost in fps though.
Just upgraded to SSD from my ancient HDD, I figured that's what caused the slow motion as the the vulkan engine is caching/rendering pipeline/shaders at the same time (I think this happens when you clear the cache/first time load). Upgrading solved this issue as faster r/w speed. I'm playing from previously Ultra Quality Rendering --> Native Rendering on High setting with steady 60-70 Fps. Oh and if anybody reading this, set the game to Borderless Fullscreen and not Fullscreen as closing and opening the game again for the next time will cause the game to ctd. Thanks.
@@hazimmazlan2473 I've never seen the slow mo you refer to. I'm guessing because I'm using a fast SSD. Even on my 2700k system I'm using Vulcan + AMD VEGA64 gpu and it runs really well. Actually, lvl'd from 60>98 using this system with no issues.

Thanks for this. After latest patches, performance dropped quite hard and was trying to figure out how to use DX11, since with DX12, you could play at 480p and still get performance, when CPU ain't working right. Now, i can at least play with settings, to gain performance for the price of visuals, where as before, you could do nothing, while GPU is half idle. Also, even if FPS drops, it is visually more pleasant (no micro stuttering). 5600x @4.7Ghz, 6900 XT, 16GB CL16 ram - was dropping to 40FPS with at least a medium size enemy force. Just funny, how your video is rendered at 4k60FPS, when it is barely 10 FPS for the majority of the of it :D
DX11 still give good performance and has not dropped at all. My GTX980Ti still really solid FPS and Level 9 helldiving no problem at all. It does come at the cost of visuals as you have mentioned.
