perf mode seems to be the most stable after playing like 5 matches and letting the shaders compile
DX 12 is still stuttering what exactly are these developers developing?
If you have NVidia you are stuck on performance mode, if you have AMD you are stuck on DX12, Big problems my friend.
Unreal engine has shader compiling issues with dx12 so the first few games you play since you switch will be laggy but after it’s smoothest
@@MicahDaRhuler This. This season DX11 stutters far more than DX12 for me.
After a few hours of playing DX12 the stutters pretty much goes away outside of the starting island that stutters no matter what you choose because its loading so many players in at once.

I don't know why but DX11 gets more FPS and is more stable on my laptop. I'm running an i7-12650H with a RTX 4060. With DX12, Nanite off, Ambient Occlusion, and everything else on epic, I'll get between 75-100 fps with some dips to the mid 60's. On DX11 same settings I get between 115-140fps pretty steady with the occasional dip to about 105fps. I resisted DX11 for the longest time since I was convinced that my hardware should be enough to get pretty good performance out DX12. I may revisit DX12 later but it's DX11 for me for now.
I've also read that AMD cards do better on DX12. No proof of it but it seems to be a pattern.
I had come launch commands enabled. This caused crazy lag spikes when I switch back to dx12, tryna test for the good 1% lows. I toggling them off and launched the game, close and toggle my commands back on fixed it. If you’re reaching your max or just a little bit over your refresh rate, it’s good. If not, then performance mode is probably better. I got an overclocked 4090/13900HX and get 3-400s frames regardless. Reflex is better latency wise when compared to low latency mode in the gpu too. That’s another reason I wanted to switch dx12.
Are you on competitive settings
@h1ghken So I revisited DX12 and turned ambient off I'm at a mix of high/very high settings and I'm getting between 120-140 stable. I can give up some things but I've tried to play in performance mode and I can't get past the potato looking graphics.
So DX 11 technically did get more fps but my lows are higher with dx12 and it feels more stable after it irons itself out.

@h1ghken I will mention that my laptop was also thermal throttling at the time but I've added a cooling solution and it's helped tremendously in having stable fps.
When I was in performance mode, I was getting over 450 fps.
I play on DX 11 I7 9700k RTX3060 12gb epic settings 120fps
On dx 12 i have huge framdrops
Same problem with dx12 R7 5700g RTX 4060 8gb ☹️
I was on dx12 in the prev season, i used to get 170+ fps on low graphics, but in this new season on the same settings my fps are dropping so much, sometimes it goes like 4/5 fps....how

Whatever your driver is try reinstalling but with a clean custom installation
In Directx 12, is it normal for my CPU to always use 100%? My processor is Intel i5 10400f and my graphics card is RTX 3060

dx12 is nightmare i accidentally set it to epic setting and i was unable to run fortnite for weeks

The game Squad started crashing alot on me after a few months of playing. I looked online and it basically said to switch to DX11 from DX12 and I did and now Squad isn't crashing anymore
i feel your pain, ive been trying to get fortnite to launch on DX12 for the past 2 months and tried every trouble shoot option and even contacted epic for support and no one knows why the game is crashing on start under DX12
@@shineychrome43 My game started crashing hard this Chapter on DX12, never happened much in Fortnite OG or Chapter 4. Had to switch to DX11 just to be able to play the game without constant crashes.

Rx 6000 is bad with dx11 as dx11 isn’t really used as much

I'm pretty sure it differs from system to system. El Kryzzpo find Performance Mode stutters more than DirectX 12. So just try it yourself on your system and see which one worked better.

How the fuck is your 3050 getting almost 500 frames mine cant even get the 240 fps

Yeah u need a better cpu to reach 500fps this cpu is not all that good in single core performance its basically like 10 to 20 better than the last gen with 12th gen its got up to 50% more single core performance compared to a i5 9400@@JudePritchard
