    Years ago (1980s) we visited my husband's sister in Winston-Salem. They took us to a crepe restaurant (forgot the name) that had delicious crepes. After dinner, for desert, we all got the banana and cream crepe that was to die for!! All I remember was it had a very similar cream that you made with the cream cheese plus banana sliced lengthwise rolled up with a generous whipped cream topping, garnished with a sprinkling of powdered sugar. It was so delicious. I've never forgotten the delectable desert crepe we had that evening.

    OMG. I made these for the first time today. Your cream cheese whipped filling was amazing. I added a little cinnamon and blackberries to the mix. I think I’ll try a savory filling with the crepes for dinner. I’m going to have to take a extra long run today. Thanks for sharing your wonderful recipes with us.

    I know that this has nothing to do with this video, but I believe it’s imperative that you know this. I just found out that vanilla extract is considered “the perpetual extract”. After you decant your vanilla, top off the jar with the vanilla beans with your vodka. You never have to buy those expensive vanilla beans again. It just keeps extracting.

    This sounds so good. My kids really like banana pancakes, it's just two eggs for every banana and you can make as big or small of a batch as your want. Super simple and another great way to get eggs in.

    I'm so glad the YT ramblings suggested your channel, I haven't been able to bake but really miss my sourdough. It didn't even occur to me I could just make pancakes, tortillas, and crepes. Probably because I was mourning the pause in fresh sourdough buns and croissants.

    This was excellent and looks divine! Yummm I had starter years ago when we were stationed in Oklahoma but I got away from it with so many moves to different states and never started it up again. I will have to check it out. You are so amazing and so sharing of all your knowledge and I love that for we seniors and the young families that can so benefit from it all.......it's absolutely wonderful. Nothing better than feeding the children a nutritious meal as well as a beautiful presentation.....it's like dining at the finest restaurant! You are so talented and so sharing of the tips and tricks..........that is a real asset to all who visit and use your advice. Loved this! Now I need to go fix dinner! :-) Perhaps it's breakfast for supper tonight! :-)

    Pour half cup in skillet
    Enjoy! 😋

    Oh I was thinking of making Manicotti soon, I use the crepe instead of the noodle version, cause that's how my granny taught me and my husband likes much better than the pasta version.
    I was wondering how I was going to do that with sourdough.
    Due to stomach issues, I found sourdough is much better, tried store bought and hate the prices and not trust.
    I just started 4 days ago a sourdough starter, my 1st ever. I also want to experiment with healthier grains instead of plain wheat. I sure hope I it works, but i hate all that math involved. I like homemade bread, I do not measure.

    I love your estimations for that butter 😂. That was definitely over 3 tbsp. I love it. I want to add a small word of caution with eating eggs. I know people think they are incredibly healthy however after studying nutrition for a bit that isn’t necessarily true. The human body makes all the cholesterol it needs, eggs have an abundance of cholesterol that can be dangerous if eaten regularly. Also for whatever reason people think they are full of protein and that is also not the case. Eggs in full are about 6g however the amount of cholesterol essentially takes away the health benefit from the protein. 1 egg maybe twice a week is recommended even for children. I just wanted to pass along the information in case anyone was unaware or interested. I love your content Lisa, I’ve been here since you had less than 30k, I love your content and love how lately you’ve come out of your shell a bit. Just wanted to share if you’re looking for a protein packed breakfast without any of the added yucks and a great source of zinc, vit k, protein, fiber etc SPINACH, KALE, SWEET POTATO PANCAKES. 🖤🖤🖤🖤

      Phylicia B I thought you always had to discard

    • @phylibar
      @phylibar 4 роки тому +3

      You never have to discard as long as you’re maintaining the starter you want. You will have to feed it more flour and maybe a little more frequently. I never discard any. I use what I need to cook with and keep going. If I’m trying to build up a lot, I’ll just feed it as many times as I need to or add as much flour and water as I need. I’ve honestly added 2 cups of flour to a tablespoon of starter and used it within an hour and had great results. I think sourdough has a reputation of being far more fragile than it really is.

    How much flour do you use in your sourdough starter when you are making these crepes?
    I am going to start my sourdough starter but I feel confused about after the first week when is ready to use and I do not have to discard any more. Do I just keep feeding it as much as I need/ want for my recipes? By the way thanks for this recipes. I love to see your videos.
