good vid !I was there a weeks ago, got 1 little flathead and 2 sting rays. Stepped on a little black shell, cut up my foot and then got infected the next day. Take a whole box of antibiotics and just got recovered.... 😂 the mud is soft but I stepped into the little sting ray pit and the bottom of the pit sometimes could be hard. Never happened to any of my friends fishing there..
1hat sucks mate. I actually cut my foot also that day I filmed this. I was also worried about it getting infected luckly it didint but I missed footy training all week. Might have to wear some booties or something next time.
Top stuff mate, to increase your hook up rate change that back treble to assist hooks, I use the 95 and usually go down a size on the middle treble and add the assist hooks at the back. I have hooked the smallest whiting ever ( world record lol ) with the 95 doesnt seem to worry them.
Thanks Warren. I did notice them nipping at the back treble and missing hookups. I was thinking assist hooks might help. You have nkw convinced me I will give it a go
HI Nathan on low tides you have flats running out for hundreds of meters from nudgee all the way to hornibrook Bridge. Anywhere along there is full if whiting . The hard part is finding the bigger ones
Love your work mate. Have only recently started fishing for topwater whiting as an alternative to catching beach worms. Loving it so far. Give the MMD Splash Prawn a try with some Small sized assist hooks on the rear (if you haven’t already). Great QLD company based on the Gold Coast. Let me know if you ever venture up the Bruce to the Sunshine Coast 🐟 I’m always keen for a flick.
Cheers mate. I actually just purchased some assist hooks to replace the trebles. I gave it a go earlier this week, but still a bit early in the season, all the whiting I spotted were face down, not interested in surface. I'm very keen to head up sunny coast to chase some whiting need to sus out some spots. normly up that way chasing bass and jacks
