BODY FOUND WHILE FISHING!
I wouldn't wish this upon anyone. Worst fears come to reality while out fishing. Discovered a deceased person floating out to sea.
My prayers go out his family and friends. R.I.P. I don't know what else to say.

Mate!! I was fishing landbased at Brighton beach around 5 or 6 weeks ago I’d say and a local came up to me and said he spotted a headless deceased male with leg tattoos on his drone. Showed me the footage and everything. I was wondering if it was going to ever hit the news! Apparently it looked as though he had floated down from up the river.
Yeah he floated down stream with the tide. I can't say I noticed a tattoo but then again I was in a bit of shock . Once we identified it was a person straight on the phone to the cops
Unfortunately a suicide
Shit bro! You won't forget that fishing trip in a hurry. Give us an update when you can.
Cheers mate will do when I see you next
Any updates? Did you end up hearing anything or finding anything on the news? Crazy stuff aye never would think of something like this happening round here
Hi Mitch. Nothing found on the news. Did find out a bit more from the police a couple of days later. But don't feel it's right sharing to much detail publicly.
OMG that's crazy I don't think I could have handled that.
I caught a tilapia using bobber setup as well but with tiny micro soft plastic lures below it, check it out its on my channel.
Thanks mate that's a great idea. I will take a look might have to give that a go.
Thanks showing how to fish. Snapper seem to handing around in shallows
They come into a shallow as 2 meters of water early in the morning
Nice catch where is this
North of Brisbane. Pretty much any suburban creek or pond will be full of them.
Thank you for this! Question, though: would it be OK to NOT use the 2nd swivel at the mainline end and just let the mainline slide as far as it would like? My thinking is that the weight could run into the 2nd swivel once the fish pulls it as far as it can, and therefore would feel the weight and potentially release the bait? All theoretical, of course! :-)
Yeah that would be fine 1 swiver works great. The only reason I use two is when surf fishing you can get a lot of line twist so the 2nd swivel helps reduce any tagles.
@@ScaleUpadventures Yes! The dreaded line twist. I'm sold. Thank you!
Good luck hope you catch plenty
I almost bought some slider swivels today at Sportsmans Warehouse. I'm glad I didn't, these look much better.
Hi Gary.. I have put a link to these clips in the description of this video if your interested in getting some.
Love it great vid those flatties would be great to feed the family
Nothing better than getting the kids into fishing, top stuff
Definitely fun creating memories and teaching them new skills
great vid
Thanks mate
Yeah well, not everyone has a boat..
That's true. I didn't have a boat for 40 of my 43 years either. You will find most of my videos are landbased as it's how I learnt all my fishing .
@@ScaleUpadventures definitely bring on more landbased please!
Definitely will be very shortly
We eat them in Florida by the dozen.
I wish we could they are delicious. Unfortunately law says we have to dispose of them straight away and not transport them in any way.
YOUR DRILLED THE PUNCH-OUT HOLES WRONG.... YOU SHOULD ONLY DRILL HALF WAY THRU EACH SIDE OF THE BOARD, SO YOU DO NOT SPLINTER THE WOOD ON THE OTHER SIDE.... LOL, GREAT JOB, THOUGH....!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the great tip. Lucky it didn't spit on me. I'm going to make another set soon so will give this a go 👍
Not great on braid, Berkley braid knot is easy as
You should never tie braid straight to a hook. Not if you're planning on catching something.
@@ScaleUpadventures alot of people do, ive done it b4 but yeah normally i use fc leader
They are really good eating fish... not sure why they won't let you guys eat them? If more people eat them, the tilapia fish will go faster.
Yeah I totally agree with you. I think they are worried that people will deliberately spread them into new waterways. However, with the floods we recently had, they have pretty much spread everywhere already
That's NOT a blood knot, which is a knot used to tie two line of equal thickness together (also called barrel knot). The knot you are tying is a Trilene knot which is actually a Clinch Knot with the tag end passed through the eye twice instead of once.
You might be right. However, knots are called by different names in different countries. If you google blood knot you will find examples of both knots
@@ScaleUpadventures Any knot book is a far better reference than google. All of them reference The Ashley Book of Knots (1944). There's tons of information on knots if you're interested.
Thank you I agree. I get most if my knots from a book called "Geoff Wilson's Complete Book of Fishing Knots & Rigs"
@@ScaleUpadventures Cool. I use one by Geoffrey Budworth.
Is not that trilene knot? I am using that knot on Mono & braid, but struggling with Flourcarbon.
That's not a good nut BS !
It's also not a pistachio
I've used this on 2 lb test and 100 lb test and indeed it never breaks
I've only recently started using it but had yet to fail me
@@ScaleUpadventures that's awesome you must be awake late I'm in Western North Carolina USA Eastern Time zone. Couple of things I love about Australia: Cutting edge engineering Ozzy man Your conservative politicians that aren't corrupt Rita panahi at sky News
@1o1carolina53 not late here only 7pm at night. Trust me, we also have corrupt politicians
@@ScaleUpadventures oh yeah brother the only people that are decent and normal are the general population Hey we we love you folks we really do stay strong mentally and physically love your content and I am subscribed
This is called the Berkeley try line knot I think they patented this in the 80s it used to be in the literature that came with your fishing line
Superb
Thank you
Nice video. I love that you used an old school quill float. It's what I used to use in when I was in New Plymouth (NZ) where the gardies there are called Piper. Garfish were the subject of a fishing ban here in WA and it's just been lifted. You've inspired me to get out and have a Gardie session. I've just made some new peacock quill floats ready to go.
Awesome mate. I'm glad to hear you guys can fish for them again. They are a great little fish to catch. There is something about watching a float go under that's very addictive. Hope you get into a few.
hey I live near there where did you fish?
Tilapias are native to Africa...& They are delicious as f**k especially when deep-fried🌶️🍅🍽️
Alls well until you step on a stone fish 💀
Not to many stone fish on the sandflats .
nature is amazing you can see it change colors so fast
Yeah sure is
these can be very hard to spot when spearing for them
Haven't tried hunting them at night with a touch and spear but will love to give it a go
Where the spot
Sorry mate, this spot was shown to me by someone else so wouldn't be right to give it away. But honestly any pond or creek around the Brisbane area is full of these fish. A lot of the time, you can just see them swimming around.
The old pop and glide one of my favourites on anything that moves.
Works a treat
I hate leaving my fish to suffocate like that to death. But great informative video, thanks.
Thanks mate. I prefer to brain spike most of my fish. Trying to do that with slippery garfish is not easy and tend to slip out of your hands and down through the rocks. I find if you put them in ice they die really fast.
Lost probably some big bass or fish in my canal because it untied the knot I did. Hopefully this time the knot will hold nice and tight. Thanks a lot.
Worst feeling loosing a fuck because of a knot. It's happened to everyone. Just have to find the knot that best works for you and learn to tie it well
i caught one not long ago and now its in my fish tank lol
Ahhhh okl. Where about are you from. Not to sure we are allowed to do that here in Queensland
good days feed and a great feed of fish there well done
Cheers mate sure was
Flatheads just go for anything
A great video. Thanks for sharing. I’ve never fished that area so will have to put it on the list. It’s a good looking boat. What is it?
Thanks mate. The area is a bit hit and miss but you can normly find a couple of flathead. The boat is a quintrex renegade side console.
nice
Thank you
Flatties seen to love this prawn lure. What else have you caught on it?
HI Joe I've caught a fair few species, flathead, flounder, bream, quennies, trevally. Apparently, it's also pretty good on Jewies and Jack's.
@@ScaleUpadventures what’s a good size for Jewies?
The 4" and the 5".
Never tried these my go to flathead lure is zman curl grubs also motor oil color.
Thanks for sharing. They are a good lure I've had a bit of luck on flaties with them but also find bream love them
one of my favorite eating fish. Well done
Your right for an estuary fish they are right up there as far as eating qualities
good lure for most fish I have caught plenty of Bass and Yellowbelly also on curl grubs
Sure is
They’re a ways sold out on those prawns!
Jump on there Facebook page they will send you a notification when they are restocking. They had a few still available last night.
@@ScaleUpadventures thanks I just checked the website. they’ve restocked
Nice one. Get yourself a few. I'm addicted to these lures. I need to probably start using something else to change it up.
@@ScaleUpadventuresstocked up on a few sizes!!! Yew!!!
Nice one, now get out there and get some fish on
those are ballyhoos
They sure are. We call them garfish in Australia
In Florida , invasive fish and reptiles dominate the eco system.
Yeah I watch Laandshark he does some great videos chasing some of those invasive species. Someone them look like great fun to catch
That bucket belongs in a museum
😆
Hi if you put a surf popper a the top of your rigs added simply increases your chances at bottom hook I be inclined to put a bottle cork ,,, lifting the bait of the bottom because of the crabs,,,,,, 🦀,,,,
Thanks Peter. Excellent idea. I will give it a go next time I'm fishing further south where I get a few issues with crabs.
Hi mate did you end up trying the surf popper lures if you wanted to make your own large bottle corks ,,,,,making a slot for the ,,,,,extend hook Shank 40 ,,, and you can bind feathers and 2 artificial squid stuffed inside each other,,,,,Glue's easy and very fast,,,,, super glue and baking soda or baking powder,,,,,,,then painted your own colour ,,,glitter nail polish for sparkling and some eye's off corse,,,,,,this will work nicely for bigger baits,,,,,,OOP'S I'VE GIVEN YOU AN IDEA
Hahaha great idea I will have to give it a go. Unfortunately haven't done any surf fishing for a while . We should be getting a run of Tailor in a month or so. I would love to try it then.
Hard to decipher, but what I *think* you're suggesting is to put a cork between the hook and the first swivel, in order to keep the bait off the bottom?
front of the loop or back?
Sorry I don't follow?
pretty fish look like they should be in an aquarium.
