  • Have you ever wanted to learn how to make those lead windows you can see on medieval England TV series like the Tudors?
    This is a Blender 2.8 tutorial showing you how to create a lead window in under 3 Minutes! I will be showing you how to model a lead window using the Bisect Tool in Blender. After years of building all types of windows, this is the fastest way I have found to streamline the modelling process. These lead windows are traditional to medieval Tudor England.
    Blender 2.8 is the perfect software to create game assets, with windows being one of the most essential components of every intricately designed building.
    If you found my tutorials useful checkout my full courses with over 200,000 students now learning everything to do with Blender 2.9 and below.

    Thanks, didn't know about the Bisect tool. One tip: when scaling in object mode, remember to apply (Ctrl A) the transformations so that things like insets and bevels are even.

      Yes! Absolutely! we even made a troubleshooting video just for that since. It is one of the most common issues in Blender modelling.

    You have done it nice but I think using the insert tool would be more favorable for this purpose. Thank you

    Hey everyone!Great tutorial thank you so much! Just a question, how can join all the segments where they intersect? cause I´d like to add more details into that, so if anyone out there could help, that would be great. Thank you in advance!

    0:22 question : Why doing "ry90 - Rz90" instead of "rx90" ?

  • @pingburner
    @pingburner 4 дні тому

    good tip but i cant do any boolean things with that to reach accurate mesh.

    • @3DTudor
      @3DTudor  3 дні тому +1

      You might need to reset the scale (CTRL + A > apply scale)

    • @pingburner

      @@3DTudor thanks a lot, i will instill this habit. Btw my issue was by inaccurate face normals i guess and by i did not fill faces while bisecting. Now i managed to take accurate mesh by boolean already.

    What about the transparency of the windows? I tried using the glass BDSF and the glossy BDSF, but neither of them worked because it just gives me a mirror.

      The one in a thumbnail is done with substance painter texturing, the rest is done using default translucent PBR material :)
