Funny how Lance became top DPS only because of the Gustcrab + Guard Bash. Reminds me when players found out about about Gunlance's Wyvernstake Cannon + Snowman interaction in Iceborne. We'll have to see if Capcom see this as a problem and patch it up in the last title update.
The best part is you can only do this with friends with whom you share the same consciousness with, otherwise in normal hunts you'd be griefing and making everybody hate you.
This is literally similar to the Guard Reflect from Frontier lol. I saw a clip of someone deflecting white fatalis before and it was crazy. I hope they put more frontier stuff in mainline. Also the bgm guitar reminds me of Toshinori Hiramatsu. If it's him then probably it's one of his atelier track, but anyone else perhaps know the name of the song?

New rampage deco for lance makes u deal damage when blockin an attack that generates no knockback. Stacking gustcrabs on top of eachother lets u proc this rapidly as blocking the gustcrabs just gives u free no knockback guards.
A new Rampage Decoration got released with Title Update 5, that being the Guardbash jewel, which for Lance essentially creates a small explosion that does a fair bit of damage and also stun damage (I have no idea how much exactly). The Gustcrab's effect can be blocked by Lance shields, and it does the minimum amount of impact to the player, allowing for Guardbash to activate, and the Rampage decoration has no inherent cooldown in how often it activates, so you can just stand there for as long as the Gustcrab is doing its thing and get all that damage. It certainly isn't an optimal way to play, as it requires a ton of setup and the Guardbash activation cannot crit, but it's a darn funny way to get hunts done with little actual fighting (outside of anomaly investigations, monsters have so much health that it isn't actually a strategy that can work against health pools that large)
I kinda feel proud right now. I played lance since monster hunter tri and only play three other weapons (switch axe, sword and shield, hunting horn) and even though I don't like rise that much, I gotta thank it for making lance popular.
