Had the same grill/griddle and the first time using it the thing cracked. I was cooking exactly the same set up as yours and even hot dogs/sausages with it. It was just shy of 20$ so I guess you get what you pay for.

Coleman is a name that you can depend on. I have had one for 10 years. Works every time I use it. Just keep it clean. No problem with the griddle.

Do you have any issues with grease drippings when you use the opposite side?
I always wipe down with paper towers when I'm done cooking, before I put everything away. Worked well so far.
Lodge is a big name is the market and well it does do the trick . If you wanna spend a lot of money go the other way. HOWEVER lodge still gets it done
