I have to say, you are the man! That plate of meat and veggies looks so good and I would happily sit down and gobble that up! Thank you for all the tips!
as a long distance Truck driver I like your channel for tips & Tricks & as a classically trained chef i like some of your methods I’ll subscribe & like!
Great video . All these good recipes from you are kind of new for me since we do not do that much of it in Mexico, but I am sure if we go and enjoy with the family a camping trip, we can take advantage of cast irons, grills and griddles same way you instruct in your videos. Thank you for sharing.
Very well done. Bang on - each point. I do use hot water to clean - but when you use the method you showed - as you said - you don’t have to have hot water. What you did was perfect to me/the same as I do. The charcoal, the stand, the griddle, the spray, cook time, cleaning... all of it. Nicely done!
I happen to live about 50 miles from the Lodge cast iron factory and was there a few days ago and on a whim picked one of these griddles up for 12 dollars and wasn't sure how I should go about using it. After this video, I now know what I can use it on and I am excited for summer to cook with it. 😊
Great video! Thank you for sharing. My wife uses a Lodge skillet and we just bought her a Lodge Griddle. Your video came up first in the search and was very helpful.
Make sure you season it before using it, if you haven’t already done so. Wipe down with flaxseed oil both sides bake for an hour on 350. Let cool completely before taking out.
I have griddle like that on my wall which I haven’t used in a while. It’s just so easy to turn on the gas grill that I don’t think about it. I need to use it.
I purchased a coleman travel grill recently as the Suze is perfect for two people. The cast iron grates were a problem the first cook. Now, thanks to your video I know how to handle the seasoning process for the grill. Hopefully no more sticking.
Thank for the information sir I have the same one but use it on a stove seen this heavy thing all rusty on my floor never knew what it was but I decided to learn how to clean and re season it now i get excited every time I gotta cook something no stick lol who would of knew something I thought was trash is now my prize in my kitchen
I enjoy the short tips and tricks short video's. I have a good seasoning on all my CI and just as you do I store them with a thin coat of oil. I never have an issue with rust or going rancid. I have 2 pieces stored in my campervan outside for winter untouched and no doubt they look brand new as I type
I want to continue making the shorter ones, but since doing a few, our average watch time decreased as a result. That dinged our ranking. It's a UA-cam thing. Thanks for watching.
@@BackwoodsGourmetChannel that makes little sense but you have the data. Maybe once someone clicks on short tip and trick, and tip or trick is revealed, viewer moves on, compared to maybe a recipe vid viewers must conclude to receive all needed data? Maybe you can insert tips and tricks inside a normal video?
Just bought one online for my put door fire pit. Will use your tips for my first griddle. Will swap up plastic bin to clean with a tin foil one as the plastic may burn. A++ video
Got my griddle for Christmas and I'm eager as heck to use it. Thanks for the tips! Was considering a Blackstone gas griddle for camping but now I'm thinking I might just get a second Lodge griddle for bigger cooks.
Would you show us a video on using it in an oven? Sometimes it’s too cold or hot to grill outside, and I’d love some cooking times and temperatures. Tonight I am making a wild guess on how to cook Italian sausages on my griddle in the oven, at 450 degrees.
It's nice to see you using that griddle. I have one that I restored hanging on the wall looking better than new. It will probably stay hanging on the wall because I just hate to clean the darn thing. Three great tips and yep you need to clean it while its hot.
Great video! Thank you. Questions: 1) What kind of brush do you use to clean the grill? 2) Where did you get the stand you put the griddle on? 3) What size is the tub you used to wash the griddle in? I really appreciate your videos. If you put links in your reply, I will follow them to help support your channel!
Good ideas. I ordered the flat top and Sportsman grill. Amazon is currently backed up so the grill wont be here for a couple weeks, so I'll use your technique with the flat top with a couple of rocks to suspend it.
Real quick question. What type of brush are you using and does it ruin the surface? Can you use canola oil to season the surface? Thank you for this very helpful video
Great channel man! I have the sportsman/ griddle combo. You have stellar videos. Keep it up. I made a small rack for my griddle rather then using the supplied sportsman grate so I don't burn off the seasoning. Your advice on grinding that grate for the pot lid grabber was spot on!
Do I need to re season flat side after I use grill side? I usually use flat side but using grill side for the first time today? Still seasoning the grill side now. And am I gaining anything taste wise on steak other then the grill Mark's? Am i going to notice anything in taste vs flat side?

I have tried the carrots with honey and brown sugar with everglades. I wonder how the seminole seasoning would turn out. Maybe try it?
Got my griddle for Christmas and I'm eager as heck to use it. Thanks for the tips! Was considering a Blackstone gas griddle for camping but now I'm thinking I might just get a second Lodge griddle for bigger cooks.

Great video! What type of brush were you using on the cast iron?
Good to see vegetables added on the grill. People who have a vegetarian to cook for can use more ideas.
Great video....Thanks!
Hey quick question - what kind of table (or material) did you dump those coals directly onto?
Would you show us a video on using it in an oven? Sometimes it’s too cold or hot to grill outside, and I’d love some cooking times and temperatures. Tonight I am making a wild guess on how to cook Italian sausages on my griddle in the oven, at 450 degrees.
Thank You sir - excellent video.
Can I use this on top of my explorer camp stove?
Great tips and tricks! The meat and veg look scrumptious!!
Mark
Thank you for the tips! Appreciate it.

Did you notice that ol' BSR stew pot that I got from you?

I just bought one and i hope i seen your video before. Will be doing this next time 💯 thank you. Liked and sub 👍
Can you make a video on how to season a cast iron teapot? Not much info in YT land on the subject.
I use the Lodge cleaning brush, I made the stand and any size will work that is wide enough to fit one end of the griddle.
Good ideas. I ordered the flat top and Sportsman grill. Amazon is currently backed up so the grill wont be here for a couple weeks, so I'll use your technique with the flat top with a couple of rocks to suspend it.
Enjoyed this video

Real quick question. What type of brush are you using and does it ruin the surface?

Do you use the pans with the fish and buck on your wall?
Since you had part of the backside in water don't you need to re season it also?
The biggest struggle I have with the Griddle is cleaning then after lol. Thanks for the tips
