What do you all think? Deliberate exploit of a game mechanic, or accidental bug? Let us know. Once again huge thanks to all of the folks out there for helping us with the research on this. Big love to Sco from Method, Cloze and Starym from Nihilum and many others who chose not to be named. A shame we couldn't speak to Lewt himself about this so if anyone knows him or if you watch it. Please do get in touch.
now do muru kills, the second one somehow isnt registered as world second. by numen silvermoon eu, 15 mins after sk gaming. search the video, i think theres two
Using the modern post-squish tooltips of level 70 items being level 27 with minimal stats lacks that ooomph of a good item, would be cool to grab the more accurate ones off of the classic wowhead database instead.
Imagine you're in that situation; a boss that nobody in the world has killed. It's on 1hp, you realize you have a soulstone and the ability to instantly do damage. How many of us wouldn't take that shot, either out of pure selfishness or solely because it'd be kinda funny if it worked It's so relatable, and that makes me think it's true.
You have no idea how happy it makes me to see you doing Legacy content again. Still rewatch Legacy of Wrath and TBC to this day. With Cata coming maybe we finally get Legacy of Cataclysm?
Only the second of this (so far) short series and loving it. With MMOs, so much is about social structures and relationships, and when you have organizations full of egos, and pile stress and burnout on top of it, competitive "win at all costs" mentality, you're bound to get interesting stuff. I remember hearing about a lot of the guilds and various controversies, but I didn't know about THIS part of the history. I hope you continue to make more as it's really compelling stuff!!
As someone who was just in a more relaxed semi progression guild at the time, it was so fun to follow along the mystery and mystique of those high end boss you'd hear whispers about... and so cool to hear those in-depth stories from you today. Loving this series!
Hello Preach, this series is genuinely amazing. I got into WoW in 2019 with Naxx during Classic and have always been so intrigued by the stories behind all the World Firsts. I was 6 years old when all of this happened so def missed out
Just waiting for the Paragon episode, although there's no confusion whether they were the best at the taime. These have been awesome Preach, keep it up!
This content is awesome. Having posted on the EJ forums countless times in that era and being one of the guilds that killed KT shortly after it was "killable", this series hits all the feels. Keep it up, good sir!
Before I had watched any YT content at all really, I found your legacy videos. I hadn’t played wow since I was a kid, and listening to your legacy videos was truly an amazing journey into my past. Thanks for doing more of them!
I remember banging my head against a wall with Vashj for months back in the day. SSC was where our guild trimmed the fat, too, as it were. What a nightmare, and it was for like the 1200th kill in the world, too. It had been nerfed to oblivion, and it was still a headache. It was a really good litmus test for who was bad at the game and following directions though. That's the only real positive I remember other than the relief when we finally killed her, and I cursed her so bad my mom wanted to throw hands. Good times. Good video Preach
Of course by the time I ran SSC and TK, BT was out already so the fights were nerfed to a working state, but I remember actually really liking the Kael fight, but hating the Vashj fight, which a lot of people said were similar (I can at least understand why, since both are a bit hectic, at least in those days). I can't imagine how miserable it must have been to be doing them bugged.
@DrewPicklesTheDark honestly I loved it. Especially the clockwork system we worked out for kiting the stupid tank and mage during phase 1 Kael. Shit was wild. Im pretty sure the tanks had to juggle the shield around. Those were the days. We managed to get Server Kael first and there was a huge celebration in Shattrath for us. I found that fight a lot more enjoyable than Vashj cause most of the kinks had been worked through while we were attempting it. Like it wasn't uncommon for the phase 1 tank to just one shot melee for seemingly no reason. Nostalgia is fun. Hyjal and BT felt like a breeze by comparison. But, like preach said, the guild fat had been trimmed by then.
I always find myself coming back to the legacy videos. Some of the best wow content available. Please... PLEASE update the older ones and continue making new videos.
Man. I miss WoW so gosh darn much. Particularly BC. But, im in my mid 30s now, children, demanding career. You cant really ever get that feeling back; better to let those memories stay memories, rather than chasing the impossible. Occasionally taking nostalgia trip with my boy Preach, cheers
Really love the video series and definetly interesting to watch and listen to. But... Was that a Wirtual reference at 10:18 in regards to his essay like videos how he goes about TM history? x)
This series getting better by each episode. Maybe do episode about first corrupted blood plegue , will be awesome a full cover of the most iconic wow bug ever
As a Horde guild that did Naxx and went into BC I remember the massive drama. Hell our guild used transfers to recruit and a big chunk left to form a guild called Plan B that failed. It was an extremely drama filled expansion and I don’t remotely miss it.
Great video preach can't wait to see the rest of the TBC Raids. I think overall if it's a bug the fault lies with Blizzard they should have fixed it when it was first reported.
Being a long time player since TBC, even to this day I forget there is a divergent history of WoW between US and EU clients. For instance, early WoW players from Australia were forced to play on US servers before the split into the Oceanic realms that didn't have relative Oceanic latency until late Mists of Pandaria. 200-180ms was the considered average "good" ping for a very long time, some players even becoming used to 500ms and playing accordingly.
I miss the days of XFire, Skype, Teamspeak and Ventrillo. And then the Discord nation invaded, changing everything. I love Discord, but hate that they have essentially monopolized VoIP.
I love this bit of gaming history. Great to hear this because I had no idea that this went on. Both of my times playing TBC were my favorite times playing WoW. Gone, never able to be experienced again.
The double spawn Lady Vashj is something I had a similar experience with in tBC. My guild was doing Kara and mid-Opera boss (Wizard of Oz one) it bugged out and reset while the Witch was low hp...but she didn't...despawn. Then after a bit the entire thing reset with the original Witch *STILL ACTIVE*. We killed that one, and did the boss again as usual and a second witch spawned. So we indeed got...double loot. Difference for us was that it was 100% unintended and we have 0 clue how we did it or how to recreate it.
Idk if you will see this Preachbut I love this new series, it just fills me with nostalgia and the stories are really interesting. I also really appreciate the unsolved mysteries intro (chefs kiss) ☺️

@@Murks33 Yep that was my bad. Was on a tight timeframe so was just missed during the edit.
Dude, you found a great series to make. These are so interesting and I love the Unsolved Mysteries vibe!
Found? :p This is actually an old series be used to do!! They're awesome!!
Mate this aint new this one of the oldest series he has
When the lore and game has gotten so bad, you have to repost old content about 20 year old lore 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Best type of content
Yes haha that vibe nails it
The opening "holla ballas" completely deadpan was perfect, you're on fire Preach
Preach is so GOOD at telling stories, he should think about doing it more often.
He is, but he sure isn't a model you want to use for selling T-shirts.
I mean he does it every friday for Drama Time lol.
Is this sarcasm? 🤣 It's literally what he does lol
Sometimes I wonder if he'd make a good DM in DnD

The Wirtual tribute was wonderful.
this!
That got a laugh out of me as soon as I heard the music coming in lol
I did NOT see that coming! Greatly done
You have no idea how happy it makes me to see you doing Legacy content again. Still rewatch Legacy of Wrath and TBC to this day. With Cata coming maybe we finally get Legacy of Cataclysm?

It hurts my soul to see what mallet of the tides has become
Really should've just used the wowhead TBC tooltip. Ah well.
Why does it hurt your soul 😮

thanks preachy! we love this content and hope you've been well
10:20 glad to see you like wirtual and trackmaina would love to see you play it some time
I don't even play wow anymore, but i enjoy these immensely. You're a good storyteller Preach. 😊
I love the new direction of these vids. You’re a great storyteller for all these tales
I was about to turn 17 when TBC came out. The memories... My god, I'm old...
God, these videos are so freaking good! Please keep it going Preach, I can't wait for the next one!

Hello Preach, this series is genuinely amazing. I got into WoW in 2019 with Naxx during Classic and have always been so intrigued by the stories behind all the World Firsts. I was 6 years old when all of this happened so def missed out

Preach! This series is amazing. Please keep making them. I love reliving these events by watching these videos.

A long time coming. thank you Mike, I think I heard you talk about this story (before the new info) at least 7 or 8 times before
Preach is BiS. This man and his team deserve a whole major network television show
I LOVE these videos. Thanks so much for the time and effort in getting these done.
Love these! Thanks Preach and team!
Great series mate, hope you keep doing it & it's productive for your channel.
Looking good mate.
That was a weird competition indeed. Talked about this a long time ago with another veteran of WoW. Learned a lot back then.
That low key 'Holla bollas' right at the top had me 😂
These are so awesome, thank you for sharing the stories before they were forgotten!
Love these vids. I remember these days but seeing your meticulous research and story telling makes it just so enjoyable. Keep at it brother!

I do love this series. The history of the world first race has always been so interesting for me so getting the behind the scenes stuff is great
Awesome doc, did you attempt to reach out to Kungen for his take? I know he is all over the place these days but is occasionally still active in WoW.

So awesome to see high quality history vids like this coming back. Best wow content creator on the platform easily

Like the first one, I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed this. Very interesting and very well put together.
Did your editor really just put the retail 1dps version of mallet of the tides in the video...the mace is actually on wowhead!
Your "Legacy of the Burning Crusade" video is still one of my favourites! ❤
