When I was a kid, I could’ve sworn that some of these character creators had a lot more sliders than this. I think it was Saints Row or something like that that allows you to move all kinds of stuff around and make weird characters if you wanted to. In 2024 we should be able to change absolutely anything about the character. Also, I don’t understand the boob and butt slider. All of the women in my family have large breasts. That’s not necessarily a sexual thing because I’m literally talking about my mom. There are a lot of women with larger breasts and smaller breasts. They act like they are for inclusivity, but then they exclude a lot of people. I honestly don’t have any problem with the top surgery scars, even though I wouldn’t use them personally. But if you’re going to add and stuff like that, why not add in other customization. They either have an agenda against busier women or they were just lazy when making the game and didn’t wanna have to modify the characters and armor pieces to fit different body shapes.
I am wondering myself why they are praising this feature so much when there are clearly better character creation tools in other RPGs? Dragon's Dogma 2's character creation is much better than this, and it was a big hit on Steam before the game was released, because they made it available like a month earlier. On the Reddit forum for the game there were many people showing their character looking almost exactly like themselves. Another extremely detailed character creation tool is in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, where one can even change the shape of the hair cut in highlighted regions and so on. But, well, both games did not have such advanced stuff like top surgery scars...
Their inclusivity doesn't include attractive & curvy women, or women that are willing to show any skin. Those things apparently don't exist, neither in reality nor in fiction. The technology is there, and has been there for decades, but they refuse to use it nowadays. It's clearly an agenda that's being pushed across the western side of the industry.

The real issue here is that the people making the game can't handle any real conflict. It comes out in their writing where none of the companions ever really enter into conflict with each other. It also comes about in dialogue selection where the text prompt is often much more stern or antagonizing than what the voice says. Big fan of all first 3 Dragon Age games. I was hyped for Veilguard, but I saw enough of the story and dialogue to be 100% turned off from just that. Maybe one day I'll get the itch to play it, but it won't be until the far future most likely. Then again, by that time Dragon Age 5 will probably be out and that'll be the true "return to form" that Veilguard should've been.

It was unplayable for alot of people, my father may he r.i.p. was a huge dragon age fan and he pushed through inquisition and had a terrible time of it. I waited 8 month's to play it, best decision i made cause the game was in a way better state and was way more polished by then. Im worried about the woke bs in veilguard but mainly im worried about char customization and the combat. People are saying its all action oriented and im trying tk play and rpg not GoW or DMC. It sucks i really wanna play it to finish the story line, for those that have played the first 3 should know what im talking about.....wanna lay the elf god traitor out!
This kind of thing (not giving review copies/codes to reviewers who didn't give a positive preview of a game) has been going on even back when I was still a game journo 25 years ago. Ironically EA was the primary company I used to butt heads with back in the day. None of this is new. Welcome to the real world or corporate scumbaggery, guys.
Bioware hasn't been the same since the end of ME3. DA2 was a step in the wrong direction. DAI was all over the place. And ME: Andromeda was just awful. It seems like with each game, they get more and more "safe" in their presentation and worry more about making sure there's a character for everyone to relate to instead of focusing on the game itself for mechanics or plot. The game may look better at a distance but it's missing anything of substance to hold it all together. I loved DA:O and DA:A because they weren't pulling any punches and it didn't feel like anyone was tiptoeing around particular topics. An example is when you first meet a broodmother and it's described how they're made by a ghoul. I also feel like they're focusing on the wrong aspects for the plot in recent games. Origins set up the world and gave us the Darkspawn. Awakening gave us Darkspawn who can think for themselves as well as introduce us to one of the first Darkspawn, one of the Tevinter High Priests who entered the Black City. Then we got 2 which focused on Mages and Templars and gave us a better look at Qunari. It was cool, but fairly unfocused until the end where very few of your decisions mattered. Legacy gave us retconned Genlocks and Corypheus. This was a nice return to focusing on what makes Dragon Age unique (ie the Darkspawn). Then Inquisition was all about spirits and demons and mages and templars again, but also Corypheus and Solas play major roles in the end. And since we have the title of "Veilguard" now, I think it's safe to assume we're just going to be fighting more demons a la WoW's Burning Crusade. I just feel like they lost the plot and don't know what the game should be. In my opinion, 2 should have focused more on red lyrium and Corypheus should have been the main antagonist you face off against like in Legacy. Since Corypheus has the abilities of an archdemon (such as soul transference and The Call) Inquisition should have been a lot more focused on fighting Darkspawn while rooting out templars and mages corrupted by red lyrium and exploring the Darkspawn's connection and origin with regards to The Fade and The Black City. How much better would Inquisition have been if we got to fight on the steps of the Black City's gate to keep Corypheus from entering a second time? To have Solas help you seal the Veil in Inquisition then turn around at the end to seek to destroy it is just another example of Bioware making it feel like your efforts towards the main goal don't mean anything because a scripted event forces a certain action to happen simply so it can be the focus of the next game
Maybe we should just go back to the days of everyone getting the copy of the game at the same time instead of access media which comes with all kinds of baggage attached. Used to be if you were concerned about anyone else's opinion about a game you would wait to buy it to see where the dust settled and only die hard fans and fools would buy a game on day one.
SkillUp tore it a new one. I’d say he’ll never get another review code from BioWare…….but then again no one will as I doubt they’ll exist too much longer once this pos bombs.
oh man...why would any company send out early review copies, i.e a special gift, to people who they know will express a negative opinion? What a bizzare demand and this all sounds like a youtube streamer problems that i should not care too much about. Streamers are mostly vehicles for PR campaigns so anyone taking their opinions too seriously is a dummy either way.
Well I can't create what I find attractive in Veilguard... or in most games, actually. But you won't see me throwing a temper tantrum over it. If there are mods that enable me to create what I find attractive, I will install them. Otherwise, I'll just enjoy the game as is.

We couldn't stop this train wreck, and more like this are bound to happen. If the company isn't going to listen to us, why bother? Let them crash and maybe eventually they'll realize that they should have listened to us when we gave them valid input.
At this point, the litmus test to see if a game sucks or is good, is by how much “journalists” glaze a game before you even see gameplay
ahh the "pour a ton into useless marketing strat" worked well for outlaws
Luke Stephens is a shill I'm surprised he didn't get a code I guess they wasn't paying in merch so he actually spoke his mind 😂😂😂
Bioware is done. I fear for the next Mass Effect game
Bioware is becoming more like "Buyers beware" or something with this new stuff abandoning what made them great once.
That Morrigan in the thumbnail is legendary. That's what they took from us.
BioWare fell off so hard it's not even funny. Mass Effect 2 was a masterpiece, one of the best games I've ever played.
Crap, thats one of my fav franchises
Fyi journalists, a good character creation is one that has both good looking and extremely odd + outrageous options
If they don't want fair reviews? Then they think the fair reviews would suck - tells me I should avoid the game, as even the makers self-evaluation for it is poor.
Only time will tell, bioware had better know whats doing otherwise this game might end up being its last.
Oh good. We can save $59 this month.
Don't forget the DLC as well as GOTY versions, you can save a lot from not buying those as well.
'Checking all the right boxes' isn't about getting a positive reception from journalists, it's about getting a positive ESG score so that they don't get slapped with restrictions within the market....
Fextralife also made a video about this...he had some very VERY minor criticism towards it and after talking to them for years and being promised they would get one they pretty much ghosted him
The thing I am 😂 about how delusional the Game Director he is. Saint Row 3rd have better character creation.
Imma wait, people forget how bad inquisition was when it first came out. It was a literal shit show for the first 6 months.
Now I remember why Inquisition went into my bucket list only to be forgotten until epic recently gave copies away.
"This is Spartan crew Omega. If they want war... WE'LL GIVE 'EM WAR."
Seen a few reviewers that got codes release scathing reviews, Skillup and MrMattyPlays come to mind
If games journalists hated it, I’d buy it. Since they love it, I’ll save my money. Thanks games journalists!
13:30 Sensational... That poor character look like he is done with life
Can modders pick it up and add huge boobs and butts? I love the moding community
Modders can't change, story, dialogue, propaganda, extreme ideological hatred.
nobody will want to mod this trash
It is time for Bioware to go the way of Firewalk Studios; it is time to sunset.
The combat looks great! Although every thing else about sounds like crap. Plus they forgot how to spell “Happy Easter!”
Another Woke vs. Anti-Woke situation. I'm definitely going to enjoy what's coming.
00:19. The men dropped before the chandelier hit them.
I've heard multiple reviewers say almost nothing but bad things about this game so I'm wondering what, if anything, is gonna happen with them
The artwork for DAtV just looks like a poorly made Baldur's Gate 3 rendition.
Honestly. Who in the hell wants a review copy of that. They should pay you to play that crap.😂😂😂😂
SkillUp tore it a new one. I’d say he’ll never get another review code from BioWare…….but then again no one will as I doubt they’ll exist too much longer once this pos bombs.
I can make my dream character? So like Dragons Dogma I can make a tiny fat char with red skin? Or a tall slim boi with ashen skin?
STEAM just forcefully created a positive score for veilguard by deleting/removing the negative ones.
I’m sticking with dragon age origins, this games is not worth 70$
Can't go wrong there especially when you mod it up.
@@fredanderson7728 took me forever to get it working on steam though
AI would be a better writer and developer at this point. I'm so...angry for Dragon Age.
The review scores are out and it proves that Game Journalism transitioned into Corporate Journalism...
Its very clear, that "Dragon Age: The Veilguard" is very obvious & given the less freedom
oh man...why would any company send out early review copies, i.e a special gift, to people who they know will express a negative opinion?
What a bizzare demand and this all sounds like a youtube streamer problems that i should not care too much about.
Streamers are mostly vehicles for PR campaigns so anyone taking their opinions too seriously is a dummy either way.
Well I can't create what I find attractive in Veilguard... or in most games, actually. But you won't see me throwing a temper tantrum over it. If there are mods that enable me to create what I find attractive, I will install them. Otherwise, I'll just enjoy the game as is.
Anyone who says "booba" immediately makes themselves irrelevant.
I used to be a *HUGE* BioWare fanboy due to DAO & my Xbox avatar still wears legion of the dead armour *AND IT SUCKS I HAVE TO PASS UP ON THIS GAME SINCE THE FRANCHISE IS TRULY DEAD*
An Asian elf that’s new. I don’t really like the aesthetic of the game, the first one was dark and gritty but now it looks like it’s not even dragon age but party city simulator. just like Disney ubi or EA the shilling and deleting reviews god gaming is in a disgusting state right now sad
This one isn't even close to what Baldurs Gate 3 is so let's just make a new Campaign there :3
If journalist liked it, it obviously should not be purchased by normal people.
Lost all hope and interest when the original writers were canned. Then the thing that would not even have me try it out is they scrapped dragon age keep. Cut out the history and every choice a player would make
I’m genuinely shocked BioWare is even kicking after the Anthem debacle
no canon self insert activist dev fan fiction ........i plan on supporting this drag age the queer guard with my closed wallet stitch scars
This makes me worry about the next mass effect game horribly
The game looks pretty good to me. No idea why people are complaining. Sounds more like they are just avoiding sending it to people that do negative reviews as a dog whistle to wind up people that get mad about video games. Usually really toxic communities. Like what is happening in this video.
It's going to be the first time, I will not be playing Dragon Age on day one. Bioware can keep their woke shite and I'll go back to playing old games without a DEI agenda.
